I don’t count calories or focus on macros, but when I saw @fatgirlfedup post about @theflexibledietinglifestyle , I knew I had to check it out! . I decided to buy the FDL 5.0 recipe book during their Black Friday sale. Then they launched their @proteincookiebutter very shortly afterward. I hadn’t even made a recipe, but I decided to give the cookie butter product a shot. . I finally had an opportunity to try it and it was pretty good! Very easy snack! 😅 IN JUNE I WAS 260 LBs 😮 _ Yes, I was getting morbidly obese, and in a way I still am. _ I was drinking way too much 🍺 alcohol, eating too much fast food, and I stopped 🏋️‍♀️ working out. _ I’ve been on an alcohol cleanse for the past 1.5 months and it’s allowed me to get such mental clarity and focus. _ I make it a priority to work out 3-5 times a week, prep my meals, and limit how much fast food I eat. _ I’ve cut sodas from my diet completely, as well as input essential vitamins to maintain a healthy body. _ Quit making excuses and #getshitdone

✨ VEGAN GF HAZELNUTS CHOCO COOKIES ✨ I love cookies all day! But I try to minimize the sugar in my recipes and to make them healthy. Makes me feel good to eat a cookies that will be high in fiber and other nutrients but without going completely off track. Don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong about going off track sometimes and we need that, but I king of eat cookies and chocolate everyday so help was much needed here 🤷🏻‍♀️! Made these cookies from scratch, creating probably one of my best cookies recipe. They are crusty on the outside and chewy in the inside. If your genetic heritage is that of a seafaring folk, your body is designed to be wading into sea water once a day, absorb iodine thru the skin; to consume seafood / fish (also minor sources of iodine); to eat veg grown in soils enriched in iodine by the occasional seawater flooding. England and holland are 2 such geographies. And if like most people i meet you are not a frequent consumer or "sea wader"... You'll likely be in need of some form or other of supplemental iodine. Iodine so so vital for the thyroid / metabolism / immune system / FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE ORGAN HEALTH. I've capitalised the last bullet point because the tissues which are estrogen receptor rich are also those which absorb iodine at the highest rate (together with the thyroid). Some conditions are known to improve with iodine supplementation be it transdermally or orally; among these are conditions which affect estrogen receptor-rich tissues eg breast ovarian etc. . . . I found this book in one of my fave bookshops in London (yes, it's again the one by the British museum :)) it has a smallish collection of niche knowledge books on nutrition. I find that many clients come to me when they have finally reached a point of misery, or a significant health issue and want to make big changes once and for all. ⁣ ⁣ GUESS WHAT? ⁣ ⁣ We have to take the small steps, gain momentum, and begin to feel and see the changes working. Call it the Compound effect - you didn't get unhealthy (whether physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually) overnight. Therefore, you can not expect to tough it out and change your life in a month. But, man oh man, you can make a significant difference in one month if you start with clarity, focus and actionable micro steps. ⁣ ⁣ One bite at a time, then another, and a little bit more then you will see the big changes “just” happen. ⁣ ⁣ Are you with me? ⁣ Can you change the story that it is too late? That you are not worth it? ⁣ Can you take one bite at a time?⁣

A classic...chicken noodle soup. This is on repeat at this time of year in our house 🤒 . . Comforting, simple, everyone loves it, plus reduces inflammation and cold symptoms. Whenever I roast a chicken, I put the leftover bones in a bag and put them in the freezer. Then when I need bone broth, I pull them out and throw them in the instant pot with water, a few veggies, a little ACV and herbs. Eeeasy! CHICKPEA, PEANUT BUTTER & DATE COOKIES: super yum, nutritious & high in fibre! If you haven’t tried chickpeas in your baking before, you will be surprised at how you can hardly taste them 🤗⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Benefits of chickpeas include their high protein and fibre content which helps to keep you full and satisfied! They also contain essential vitamins and minerals such as folate, manganese, iron & magnesium 😍🙌🏼⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌟 These cookies remain chewy and soft, and taste great after refrigerating as well! Here’s the recipe:⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👩‍🍳 What you need:⠀ • 1 can chickpeas, drained & rinsed⠀ • 1/4 cup peanut or other nut butter⠀ • 1/4-1/2 cup dates (depending on how sweet you would prefer them)⠀ • 1 tsp baking powder⠀ • 1-2 tsp vanilla⠀ • {optional bonus} 1/2 cup chocolate chips⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Method:⠀ 1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350 F/180 C.⠀ 2️⃣ In a food processor, blend all of the ingredients together. If adding chocolate chips, fold these in afterwards.⠀ 3️⃣ Place tablespoonfuls of batter onto a tray lined with baking paper. Use a fork to press down the top and create a round shape.⠀ 4️⃣ Bake for 12-14 minutes. Enjoy warm from the oven or refrigerated.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Note: I’m sure you could eat these all in one sitting because they’re delicious, but I wouldn’t recommend it due to the oligosaccharide content of chickpeas - a type of carbohydrate which can be hard to digest in large amounts for most people ☺️⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🙋🏻‍♀️ Would you try these chickpea, peanut butter & date cookies?

Lemon garlic shrimp & pasta lunch!! • what’s in my bowl —> egg noodles and shrimp cooked in butter, parsley, garlic, s&p. I added tomatoes and yellow peppers in with the shrimp so they got sautéed! Topped with some lemon zest and feta 😋 I wanted to have a filling lunch since I work til 8:30 and am going to the gym after, so this was perfect!

Sweet potato bowls > yogurt bowls. Sorry not sorry. This was the best breakfast I’ve made recently 😍 • • About 1 sweet potato mashed (baked the night before until it was soft & easily mashable), topped with blueberry @siggisdairy , banana slices, a couple cashews, blueberries, cinnamon & generous amount of @maranathanutbutters almond butter 😍 I ate this cold and it was seriously so gooooood but it’d also be good if you heated up the sweet potato as well!

〰️ Buckwheat Microgreens 〰️ Nutrient packed, gluten free & colorful. This beauty is now becoming increasingly popular due to its many health benefits. Despite its name, Buckwheat is not related to wheat. It is actually a fruit seed that is related to rhubarb and sorrel. Buckwheat micorgreens are also high in fiber and studies have shown that it helps slow down the rate of glucose absorption after a meal. It is also known to lower blood pressure. That’s not all. It also cleanses the colon and alkalizes the body. One of the reasons is that it is full of rutin, which is a compound that is known as a powerful capillary wall strengthener. It is also rich in lecithin, which helps balance cholesterol. Lecithin soaks up “bad” cholesterol and prevents it from being absorbed. Lecithin also neutralizes toxins and purifies the lymphatic system. And there is more ~ 28% of the brain is actually made of lecithin. It is also high in iron, can prevent osteoporosis because of its high boron and calcium levels and is high in bio-flavonoids and co-enzyme Q10. And just for good measure it also contains all of the B vitamins, magnesium, manganese and selenium. And to round off it off it contains all eight essential amino acids, including lysine, which plays a key role in collagen production and is not produced by the human body. All of this in one of the most beautiful of microgreens. They have a mild sweet mustard flavour and are an excellent addition to salads, sandwiches and soups. We are fairly knew to growing this micorgreen but in all honesty my mind was blown with all the health benefits and will ensure this is part of our offering and always a part of our meals.
