We skipped our workout the last two days— completely slept in + fulfilled the promise we made to ourselves that we would get it done this morning! PROMISE MADE! ✔️Now off for a fun filled family day with my little tribe! 🎡🎠
It’s simple. So I can be the mom THEY need and the mom I want to be.
My mom was gone when I was 19. She has missed SO much. I sit here at the age of 32 and dream and blissfully/begrudgingly (depending on the day) wonder....
What her relationship with my kids would look like. What dress she would have picked for my wedding. How she would wear her hair these days. If she would still wear the same perfume. If she would still rock a hot pink lip, daily. Something I used to tease her for.......and something that I apparently inherited.🤣🙄
I miss her. And I’m so hurt still. Because it is too late to take better care of herself. It is too late for her to stop drinking. To stop smoking. It’s beyond her scope now.
And I just can hope and pray that she’s proud. That all that I do to be here, for as long as possible for my kids, makes her smile.
I hold on to the sweet thought that she would have let me help her on her journey. That she would have drank my shakes, and did my workouts. She would have made the recipes I share. That she would have hung out in my online community, cracked jokes, and loved on the other ladies. Because she had a damn good personality.
Please, don’t wait until your daughter is writing the same post about you. Do something to ensure you’ll be here. Now. 💗✨

Shoutout to my sweet hubby for always supporting my wildest dreams. ✨Like when we decided I’d stay home and raise all the babies we want ... and then quickly decided I actually wanted to work from home and start up my own bizz. 🤣💁🏼♀️
Being your own boss has a lot of upsides — creating your own schedule, wearing yoga pants/pjs for work, deciding your own income and striving for it, building a name for yourself ... etc.
But it can also be really hard. We makes a lot of sacrifices to move our family inch by inch into the direction we envision for ourselves. We have big goals and with that comes consistency, dedication, and being intentional with our time. 👊🏻
So tonight I’m thankful for a man who loves me so well. Supports my dreams so much that he can visualize them too. And then pushes us together to get there day in and day out. Team work makes the dream work! 💏

Baby girl got up quite a few times last night but has slept really good today. I’ll probably catch a nap with her so I’m rested for tonight.

This soup is one of my favorites!! It’s super light but still fills you up when you need comfort food that doesn’t weigh you down. ———————————————————
Lemon Leek Soup
•four leeks, trimmed and cleaned, sliced thinly on the bias
•2 tbs olive oil
•two medium white sweet potatoes, cut into 1 inch cubes
•6 cloves of garlic, minced
•Handful of fresh sage, roughly chopped
•3 tbs fresh thyme
•4 cups vegetable stock
•2 cups water (as needed for texture)
•fresh lemon juice from one lemon
Heat olive oil in a stock pot over medium heat and add leeks, stirring for 5 minutes. At sweet potatoes and S&P and cook for five minutes. Add garlic and sage and let sit for two minutes, then toss in the vegetable stock and thyme. Cover and let cook for around 15 minutes until the sweet potatoes can be easily pierced. Squeeze in the fresh lemon, stir, and serve! I usually add some leftover pesto for good measure.

I’m a big believer in #intuitiveeating
and don’t believe that this principle should change just because I am pregnant. When I am hungry, I eat!🥑🍇🍒
I did notice that while my belly was growing, and every test was coming back perfect, that the rest of my body was getting leaner. Obviously this isn’t a bad thing but this was a signal to me that I may need to increase my carbohydrate intake to keep my body fuelled. So that’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve been increasing my intake of rice, potatoes and fruit.
I’m not forcing myself to eat,
I’m just changing the composition of my meals. Some days I’m hungry all day, so I eat all day! Some days I’m only hungry for my pre-pregnancy amount of food, so that’s what I eat! Sometimes I want ice-cream, so I have some ice-cream. Overall my focus remains the same, eat whole foods and very little processed food. 🍦🍧

Contrary to popular belief, not all salads are nutritious. Here I have a nutritiously balanced salad containing everything you need for a healthy meal: lean protein (tuna), veg, healthy fats (olives) and low GI carbs (sweet potato). For taste I used a light Greek salad dressing.
On another note- can pregnant women eat tuna? Yes of course and we should!! Canned tuna comes from a low mercury source of tuna (skipjack). The tuna which is high in mercury is called albacore or yellowfin tuna so be wary of those if you are preggers. Chewy Gluten Free Peanut Butter Cookies⠀⠀
1 cup peanut butter⠀⠀
½ c coconut sugar⠀⠀
¼ c raw honey⠀⠀
2 tsp vanilla extract⠀⠀
¼ c coconut milk⠀⠀
¼ c avocado oil⠀⠀
2/3 c oat flour (or other GF flour)⠀⠀
1 tsp baking soda⠀⠀
1/8 tsp salt⠀⠀
fleur de sel (to sprinkle at the end)⠀
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream the peanut butter and coconut sugar till combined. Stir in honey, vanilla, milk, oil and egg. In a separate bowl combine the dry ingredients. Slowly mix in the flour mixture to the peanut butter mixture until just combined. Scoop out into 1-inch balls onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for about 7 minutes until the edges are slightly golden, keeping a close eye so that they do not brown too fast. Remove from the oven and sprinkle immediately with fleur de sel. Let cool completely, if you can!⠀⠀
