It’s been a fun weekend filled with birthday party prep, the party and a relaxing Sunday!
And with that came leftover pizza 🍕 and wings, cake 🍰 and chips. 😬 It was easy to see the change in my energy today after having those treats compared to making better choices. •
Here’s the thing, I used to justify eating all the extras for more than a treat when I was pregnant because ya know, eating for two! Sure! And I would continue this trend all week instead of enjoying the silly treat, stopping and moving on.
We get some weird advice as pregnant women from outsiders...have you gotten these before?
😬Oh have more, you’re eating for two!
😬You can have that, you should enjoy being able to eat more while you’re pregnant 😬Exercising isn’t safe (when in fact, it’s amazing for you as long as your dr says it’s ok!)
😬Who cares how much you gain, it’ll melt off after!
I know they mean well but it totally messes with our minds and instead of working towards a healthy weight gain, eating FOR pregnancy and the health of mom and baby, we eat crappy foods because we’re told we can and should. 😣We make excuses on staying active because even though our doctor said we should, Aunt Sally said I should sit back and relax.
Well darn it Aunt Sally, not this time! 🤣
But seriously mommas, it doesn’t have to be this way! •

34...Sundays. The one question that has been coming up in my conversations with people is what is being real vs what is being negative. When people ask me how I’m feeling, I tell them what’s real: I’m hopeful but terrified. There is a very real chance (not a good chance, a real chance) that this baby won’t make it. Then I get scolded for thinking “negatively.” When I use language like “if this baby girl makes it then....x” and I get scolded for being negative. “Oh she’ll make it. She’ll be happy and healthy!” “I hope so,” I say. And I get scolded for being negative. Since when is HOPE a negative emotion? I tell these very lovely, well meaning people the facts about stillbirth and the machines that I will be attached to for the last months and they say “oh....”. I’m not thinking the worst, I’m preparing my heart for what’s possible while hoping with all my might that we’ll have a different outcome than the last one. I don’t think there is anything wrong with being real. I think positivity without a grounding in reality is nothing but show. I think negativity without a grounding in reality is depressing. Reality that’s just that...is just that. And I’m comfortable in the lane I’ve chosen. (Pictured is the ball of fresh pasta dough that will soon be my dinner. It’s just so fucking beautiful that I needed to share it. My husband made it. He is my sexy, smart, caring, #chefhusband

Un weekend al lago per festeggiare l’anniversario di mamma e papà ❤️
What’s better than pumpkin and cream cheese muffins? Pumpkin and cheese cheese muffins on a pretty new table 😍
“You, and only you, are ultimately responsible for who you become and how happy you are.”
I’ve put off my workout now for two days + knew I had to get it in yet before the weekend was over. No one would know if I skipped... I could always use pregnancy as my excuse ... Sunday is a day of rest said the Lord... were all excuses I told myself when my alarm went off this morning. 🤣
But I sat up — and counted backwards from 5. No one would know if I skipped or used another excuse but I would.
Today is a busy one — filled with coffee dates, baby showers, 1:1 coach calls ... etc. and I knew throughout the craziness ... my workout would continue to be pushed back. So I got up, made the commute to my basement 😉, turned on something other than kidzbop 😉, and my workout was done in less than 28 minutes!
Happy Sunday, insta fam! Do something for me today, and don’t allow that little voice in your head to derail you from a promise you made to yourself. Those matter, no matter how big or how small they may seem. 💫
Not all health and fitness programs are created equal - especially for pregnant women. 🤰🏼💗
For women like me, who have overdone it in the past (hellllooooo 70 pounds with Hudson!), you may be tempted to count calories or count your calories should you be blessed with another baby. 👶🏼
But the truth is, you need to be careful. Pregnant women DO have a higher caloric need than those who aren’t. And that caloric need is even HIGHER for nursing mothers. 🤱🏼
You may be tempted to diet during pregnancy or especially after - to “bounce back” after baby. But truth be told, that’s not the type of mentality that supports healthy fetal growth and brain development OR postpartum healing and milk production, for that matter. 🙅🏼♀️
But guess what? I have a solution for you. I am certified in a nutrition program created by a registered dietician DESIGNED for healthy pregnancy and nursing mothers (and everyone in between). This is the program I will be offering to all mamas who want to rock their pregnancy - a Bootcamp for #expecting
mamas beginning on Monday!! 🙌🏼 🎉
This is the exact program I have followed since we conceived and has kept me to an incredibly healthy 12 pound weight gain at #32weekspregnant
. You need to gain weight to have a healthy pregnancy - but it matters HOW you do it. This program ensures you and baby are getting all the nutrients you need, while allowing some wiggle room for treats. 😍🍟🍦
Send me a DM immediately to sign up. And if the cat isn’t out of the bag yet, don’t worry, your secret will be incredible safe with me. 🤫

continues! Been obsessively on the hunt for a delish gluten + refined sugar free version.. and let me tell you, they’re not all winners🤭 But this one’s a favorite so far! I could probably eat @ahealthyharmony
’s PB Honey Banana Bread in one sitting - and only 3TB honey in the whole recipe! Of course, I added choc chips, pecans, and extra PB swirl on top🤓🍌 #eatingfortwo #bananabread #glutenfree #gfbakes
20 week bump in my @lucyandyak
dungas - so comfy I just hope they last me all the way through 🤞🏻 I feel like I’ve suddenly popped and like I’m absolutely huge but I’m still a few lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight due to the weight I lost with HG. I’m surprised I’ve not piled it all back on yet as the last few weeks I have been eating ALL the food 😂 😍
Did you know that in pregnancy, a woman's daily iron requirements almost double from 18 mg/day to 27 mg/day? The Lucky Iron Fish can be used every day, even in pregnancy, to provide a safe and gentle dose of iron, without any side effects. Today we're at the #torontobabyshow

I was worried that I only gained 4 pounds during the first 17 weeks of my pregnancy. Now, that won’t be a problem. 😋 #eatingfortwo #babynumberthree
Becoming my best self and totally falling in love with this process 🙌🏼🔥 •
What does that process look like? Listening to a podcast instead of the radio. Working out and sweating through the anxiety(from home, duh, because i know my ass won’t go to the gym😂). Reading books that teach confidence and self worth. Spreading positivity instead of mindlessly scrolling. Cutting out toxic people/places/things. Drinking my water and buying more fruits/veggies. Fitting in my superfoods on the daily. But also not feeling overwhelmed or guilty when i want to treat my self!
To sum that all up: MAKING MYSELF A PRIORITY! FILLING MY CUP FIRST!
Seriously, my wish for YOU, is that you’d consider diving into this process as well. To live a more energetic, loving, healthy, and fulfilling lifestyle. You deserve nothing less❤️
Pregnancy gains 🤰🏼💪🏼🙌🏻 Our meal preps have been on point this week. Proud of myself for taking the time to prep to feed my hubby, my body and our baby good nutrition. Prepping our meals means less work guessing what we’re going to bring for lunch and means going out to eat isn’t an option. I can get up and go not having to worry about what to pack... it’s already done. Love the convenience. I prep on Sunday and Wed because I’m prepping for my hungry hard working man and my growing body 😌💗🤰🏼 it’s super easy because I double our dinner recipe then the left overs go for our meals that week. SIMPLE. EASY. NO PROBLEM! It feels good to eat healthy meals and no stress on what to make.. cause it’s already DONE ✅ #mealprep #goodtogo #easypeezy #keepitsimple #nutrition #health #fitness #fitpregnancy #preggolife #eatingfortwo #fitmom #enjoyinglife #34weekspregnant #labtech #medicalassistant

Happy Friday! I am so excited for this weekend, I have really big plans to do, not a damn thing! I have been traveling and on the go, working crazy hours and of course, chasing my little guy around! All is so good, but I'm pooped! This weekend is home, the park, walks, maybe a little organizing, some play time in the kitchen, just simple💫 Speaking of simple, this bowl is so simple and yet so amazing! Fruit, crumble and some peanut butter 👌🏻 Have an amazing day! #theelementallife #howdoyoucrumble #icrumblelike @tennishealthfitness

Proud to be making my debut this morning on @thedadsnet
with my top three delicious recipes to make during the first trimester: Pictured is a spanish risotto with king prawns, peas and asparagus. Followed by a chicken, carrot and brocolli soup and a parmesan brioche toast and finally a walnut, spinach and parmesan pesto with roast chicken, spinach and brocolli.
If you're struggling for food inspiration in your or your partners first trimester then click on the link in bio. Remember that during the first trimester women need carbs upon carbs because for the first 13 weeks of pregnancy they are creating rather than growing a life, which apparently needs a little bit of extra energy (!). If you're craving carbs, embrace it but just try to have wholegrain rice, bread and pasta and sweet potatoes rather than the plain stuff. Try to sneak in some dark, folate rich veg in some soup, in pesto or mixed into a risotto. But if you can't face vegetables this early on either, don't worry, that's what the second trimester is for!
For anyone wondering who the hell this guy is writing about pregnancy recipes, I'm a trained chef who when my wife became pregnant was so demotivated at the amount of negative advice out there for eating during pregnancy, that I decided to create my own recipes focussing more on what you can have, less on what you can't.

Today was a spoon stamping kind of day ~ preparing for Christmas orders and getting my retailers ready. These are honestly one of the cutest and original gifts you could give someone who’s hard to shop for.
What’s your favourite?
“Maybe the hardest part of life is just having the courage to try.”
I remember when Ty and I first started working out at home. I was 6 months PP, out of shape, and hardly eating (because I was so stressed + honestly forgot.) I stopped the workouts halfway through. I paused them to take water breaks and catch my breath. I had tears in my eyes after completing 6 push ups on my knees. I looked at my extra skin with disappointment rather than love for carrying my sweet boy for 39 weeks. Ya’ll, my point is that it wasn’t a pretty start.
But with each passing week, I showed up. I started to last the full workout length. I started pausing for only a few seconds, rather than minutes. I increased the number of how many push ups I could do … but, obviously still on my knees. 💁🏼♀️I slowly started to love the new body I gained from giving birth.
I don’t want you all to ever think that I didn’t have a starting point too. That I have always been THIS healthy. THIS motivated to move. THIS courageous to share my story here on social media for everyone to judge or criticize.
We all having a starting point + a beginning to our story. So this morning, I looked at myself after snapping this picture at *almost* 34 weeks pregnant, and feel gosh darn PROUD of myself for having the courage to start and try, and for continuing to show up for myself on the good days + the bad days.
Two spots are left in our October group ... so fill out the link in my bio if you’re ready to push past the hard and move past your starting point in order to live a healthier life with us ladies! 👯♀️
Late night salad cravings.. when the bowl is as big as the belly! Hey, it’s better than the pack of Hostess mini donuts I was originally going for 🤷🏻♀️🍃 #eatingfortwo
