Zanzibar just sound so exotic doesn't it? I've been told my grandad was in the spice trade, buying and selling cloves on the smaller island of Pemba where my dad was born. It's on my bucket list!

This quick and simple turkey bolognese I made last night was even better tonight 😍 It’s a bit lighter than your traditional bolognese since it skips the heavy cream without skipping out on flavor!
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup white onion, chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup carrot, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb organic, grass-fed ground turkey
1/2 cup dry red wine
1-28oz can crushed tomatoes
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
Pinch of nutmeg
Salt and pepper, to taste
1) In a large saucepan, sauté onions, celery, carrots, and garlic until soft. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
2) Add ground turkey and sauté until fully cooked, stirring occasionally.
3) Stir in red wine and crushed tomatoes and bring to a boil before covering and lowering the heat to a simmer. Allow to cook for about 15-20 minutes.
4) Finish by adding Parmesan, nutmeg, and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes and serve fresh over your favorite gluten-free pasta or zucchini noodles.

To my local friends, these beauties are "Aspley Guise cherries" from the English Cherry Co. They sell them at the farm shop or in and around Woburn, Ampthill, MK......Have a look on their website of where to buy them. They are super tasting 🍒

Did you know it was National Cherry Day on the 16 July? It was to raise awareness of the loss of 90% of British cherry orchards in the 20th century. After the war orchards were planted along with more vital crops to feed the people. More recently, a campaign was started in 2008 to save British cherries.

How about, some Rich Chocolate Cake ,with an even richer truffle filling, and some vanilla infused whipped cream frosting..sounds yummieeee..😋😋 So this was ordered for a friend's bday party .. the client, did wish to have a theme cake ,but, I refused as it was a last minute request, and they were absolutely ok for a no theme cake 😊,but then, I just could not stop myself 😜so I sat up the night to just get this done as a surprise to the client ..😀(this design was based on the message she has sent me initially when placing the order mentioning few of things what her friend liked n beer was one from the list of likes 😉)
