Jean-Christophe Henry, the beloved crêpe maker from Bretagne is back with a new place in Bedstuy, a full-service restaurant that allows him to do the magic he has always wanted to do. You may have met him and tried his crêpes when he served them from a tiny room connected to the William Barnacle Tavern in the East Village, but this place really lets him show off. Named for the woman who taught him how to make crêpes back in Bretagne, Madame Poupon is a real gem of a restaurant, especially if you get to sit near the open kitchen and watch him work.
Savory and sweet crêpes, two of each shown here, are all top-notch and obvious products of a skilled craftsman. You cannot go wrong with the classics, but he is always testing out new things and has nightly specials as well.

These ‘quesadillas’ (more like tacos) from @gordoscantina
were the best thing I’ve eaten today. Two corn tortillas covered with a layer of grilled, smoky, crunchy cheese...THEN topped with some tender braised and broiled pork carnitas...finished with chopped onions, cilantro, and lime. What an unbelievable combination!
The house-made salsas don’t disappoint either. Finished it all off with a @montaukbrewco
Don’t sleep on this hidden gem close to the Queensboro Plaza station in Queens. I’ll be dreaming about these ‘quesadillas’ for a while.

I first had qualms about this place when I heard about their “rolled lasagna” . How can true lasagna be rolled? Is this Italian American style? Don’t knock it till you try it though. Everything was great, especially the veal, the bbq calamari , the stuffed flatbread and the crudo. While a lasagna to me will always be the traditional kind with bechamel and a 👌 ragù, I can see why this version of a manicotti style, ricotta filled lasagna is it’s namesake dish. * Rolled Lasagna
