I am making another batch of gingerbread right now, but I have a feeling that not only will this batch not be the last, but I might also have to make some of my Grandma’s shortbread too. Grandma always made these around Christmas when we were younger and my favourite bit was eating the glacé cherry on top! I now have her biscuit cutters (pictured here) and use them lots and while they aren’t much really, they do hold really special memories for me. What Christmas Baking traditions do you hold dear? Are they something no Christmas is complete without? 🎄🎄🎄
I have put my Grandma’s recipe for this shortbread in my Christmas Baking eBook which is available via my blog now. Click the link in my profile to get your free copy of the book!
A unique experience at a fine dining dessert only restaurant. Even the 7 course dinner is all desserts, though some of the ingredients are savory. Each guest as asked about their food tastes and dislikes and what you get is a surprise. Even the 🍸 pairing is chosen for you based on their best guess. This creation consists of yellow 🍅, chickpea, 5 spice, 🍋 and olive oil.
Hands up if you’ve tried Choc Cherry? 🙋♀️ We reworked a classic *cough* Cherry Ripe *cough* and made her guilt free 😍 #eatnakedpaleo

Being an adult is having the “we have food at home” convo with yourself. I frequently lose this argument 🤷🏼♀️🌮🙌🏼 @cajacaliente

Have you guys ever tried Raclette?! 🧀
It’s one of my favorite things to make when I have guests over! It’s a traditional Swiss cheese that you heat up and melt over your favorite foods. I think it’s especially good on top of roasted potatoes!⠀🥔😋
My sister introduced Raclette to me after she lived in France for a few years. Since then, I’ve loved serving it for parties because it’s interactive. 🙌🏻And really, who doesn’t love cheese?! Ask for Emmi Raclette at the cheese counter in your grocer’s deli your or you can get it at specialty cheese shops.⠀😘
What’s your favorite food to serve when you have people over?⠀🤔
When just a regular lunch doesn’t cut it! Parmesan Chicken Italian style on a bed of fresh lemon zest pasta , and the most delicious Pistachio Crepes filled with vanilla bean ice-cream and topped with salted pistachio nutty sauce. Just the type of food to make your day! 😋
Looking for a quick bite this afternoon? Head on over to Meshi to get your sushi fix! ☺️
Our official holiday hours are now here! Make sure you treat all your loved ones to a ZCREW meal before this hits. ☃️

Back to my favourite oatmeal bowl, it’s my staple breakfast for this time of year 🇨🇦 I swear there’s oatmeal under there I just love packing it with tons of yummy toppings 🥰 This bowl is steel cut oats with @vitalproteins
marine collagen, topped with frozen bluebs, half a banana, hemp hearts, chia seeds, coconut flakes, almond butter and cinnamon ✨
Since I got back from vacation I’ve been making Christmas cards, listening to holiday music non stop and getting in all my last min xmas shopping! Anyone else a last minute xmas shopper? 🌲If you are still looking for ideas I have a holiday gift guide that’s perfect for the foodie/health nut in your life, the link is in my bio 🤗
This Creamy Asiago Chicken and Artichokes in Roasted Spaghetti Squash is new up on THO blog. Virtue meets indulgence with comfort food that is low carb, and helps to balance out all the holiday indulging. If you want to swap the squash for pasta for your crew, the sauce works perfectly over that too. You won’t believe how well garlicky creamy goodness goes with artichokes and tomatoes and chicken. ❤️ #ontheblog #linkinprofile
Minus the broccoli and the scallions, in this cart is my breakfast ritual each day. I have been eating fruit only for breakfast for almost a year and I’ve seen a major reduction in my cravings for sugar and increased overall digestion. So I wanted to share my morning routine for whoever is up for trying it in 2019!!!!
✨ glass of water with lemon while I make my 16 oz of celery juice @medicalmedium
always non negotiable! 😉
✨ 16 oz of celery juice and wait 15 mins ⏰ tick tock.
✨fruit bowl = 1 banana, 1 apple, handful of raspberries and blackberries. .
About 15 mins later you can proceed with your breakfast of choice. (In my case it’s dairy and gluten free, which just means lunch comes earlier than usual around 12:00) 😁.
I used to drink black coffee and eat a slice or two of toast with a flimsy piece of cheese for breakfast. I couldn’t imagine not doing that! Did you notice water was not even in the picture!!!! 😬😬😬
This year I am eating more consciously than ever and I feel so much better. I only eat fruit in the am. Oh did I mention it helped my skin so much! 💕Also there is literally no bloating ever or stomach cramps ever in my day! .
Eating fruit first thing has been a trend for a while. There are those that swear by it and those that speak against it! Just like everything else you do you! It does great for my body! Listen to your body, it’s not all about science do what works for you!
Happy Thursday!!!!! 🦋
There’s something so completely magical 🙌about warm, freshly-🥖baked bread with 🎅🏻holiday meals, but these ❤️Soft Yeast Dinner Rolls are the most irresistible 🤤of them all. Have you already baked gingerbread cookies for Christmas? I made pink cookies this year with this easy pink royal icing. Tasted these with Yogi teas #christmastea
and yummy, what a perfect combo! 💕 ☕️⠀
💕 P I N K R O Y A L I C I N G💕⠀
• 2 egg whites⠀
• 1 1/4 cup icing sugar⠀
• red food coloring ⠀
1. Whip up the egg yolks and sugar until smooth and add the coloring.⠀
2. Decorate your gingerbread cookies!
What’s the secret to cooking regularly?
The more you eat a plant based diet, the less you need a recipe.
Keep it simple. Grab an assortment of fresh veggies, preferably all kinds of colors, and just start chopping. With a little sauté (or bake) with butter or avocado oil (NO VEGETABLE OIL OR “blends” as many are heat treated and already spoiled) and maybe some garlic, salt and pepper. Add a little sauce that you love. Throw in some grilled onion for great flavor.
Rinse, chop, sauté/bake, add some good fats and spices and herbs and your meal is ready! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ps. I added a bunch of cooking tips to my blog. All the things I would tell myself when I was just starting out, and will keep adding as I continue to learn! ✨
Essential Christmas baking. Shortbread cookies. This year, I couldn’t resist switching the sprinkles for some dried rose petals.
Roast Monkfish, Cauliflower, Coppa, Green Sauce, Grapes, Hazelnut
Holy kale! Simple KALE SALAD: kale (obviously), sourdough croutons, sliced pear and caramelised walnuts + delicious shallot dressing (2tbs olive oil, 1 tsp red wine vinegar, 1tsp runny honey, 1 diced shallot, salt pepper - mix-set for 10 minutes-use!) ❤️ Salad recipe on my stories 😘
