One of the first sites you'll see as you leave Waverly Station is the gothic Scott Monument to Scottish author Sir Walter Scott. Definitely worth a climb up for amazing views of Edinburgh! 🧗♀️

, I wanted to share how I got started in history- when I was much, much younger, I would take out biographies of different queens and kings from the library and write down as many of the facts about them as I could. Not to do anything with, just to have. Fast forward to university where I thought I would double major in English and French (no idea what I was going to do with that, just seemed the plan)- I took two history classes, and plan OVER.
Although history isn't my day job (I wish!), I still read and study as much of history as I can. Original sources, studies, articles, TV programs, magazines, podcasts, everything. My main area of study is early Irish history but if I could study anything, it would have to be Mary, Queen of Scots, or Queen Anne's court at Kensington Palace. If you could do anything as a career, what would it be? #anhistorian #MaryQueenofScots #EdinburghCastle #history

“Day dreamer. Walking through the clouds it's a screamer. And falling from the skies, lots of streamers”
It’s an exciting day in the office today as it’s our 20th anniversary and we’re celebrating tonight 🥂 We work really hard and I wanted to organise a celebration where we have a real laugh so later today my lovely team at Dickins, past and present, together with all the people we couldn’t run the business without - our fab housekeepers, wise window cleaners, excellent electricians, plumbers etc etc are gathering to do the Guru Dudu Silent Walking Disco followed by a gin tasting. It’s going to be fun 🕺🍸💥 So a Dickins red photo seemed right for today. What a 20 years they’ve been. Here’s to at least 20 more 😍😃 #dickinsred #were20 #letsparty #celebrationtime #weknowedinburgh
