Lovely people... please forgive the silence.
A little mourning time for the passing of my dear little Ruby, taken by a fox a few days ago. Enthusiasm has been hard to muster.
But life goes on and all the other beings in my orbit need me to keep on smiling and this place in front of you all so that we may continue to live here, welcome others and teach and connect others to their innate compassion for animals and the defenceless and the how’s and why’s of the best and healthiest daily food choices.
I do what I do here because I believe in the goodness of it. Because I want to share my knowledge and my home and life with good people.
I don’t want to live a meaningless or shallow life, without contribution, growth and purpose.
The Beet Retreat and the vegan nutrition cooking classes are here for you to enjoy and thrive from.
They exist as my contribution to co-creating a healthier, more personally empowered and connected world for all of us.
To “work” in way that we find deeply meaningful is a blessing indeed. I don’t take it for granted.
While I know life will move me forward to a new chapter in due course, as long as holding space for you here retains meaning for me this is where i will operate from.
Thanks for your love, support, and sharing the ride... may we continue to hold that space and connection for and to each other for some time yet.

Not my usual breakfast but forced to be oatless (💔) this was an okay back up! Glad I went prepared though 🙋🏼 Apple puree, seedless jam on toast, rice crispies and rice milk (watching other people eat hash browns should be a form of torture)

Vegan Apple cake au levain 🥧🍎 Don't know exactly how we end up with so many levain already fed! I don't like to waste levain or any other food so, I decided to adjust one recipe in order to use 100gr of levain (#naturalfermentation
) in this apple cake.
The result is so amazing that I don't think anymore do apple cake/pie without levain! It's amazingly fluffy like melting in the mouth and with an incredible sourdough flavour and aroma. Shame that you can't feel it through the pictures.. #aulevain
