Just popping up to wish everyone a wonderful weekend! If you’re in the LA area, why not stop by for a visit? We’ve got about 26 sea lion patients right now with the majority of those being recent arrival pups. We’re preparing for the numbers to rise as we head into the busy season. Your visits and donations help us care for patients and educate even more people about these vital ocean citizens. Come say hi any day 10 - 4! 👋😀

Time to dance! Enjoy your weekend.
A male elephant seal’s most conspicuous feature is, his bulbous nose, which comes with a sack-like appendage known as a proboscis. Expanding the proboscis enables an elephant seal to amplify snorts, grunts, and loud, drum-like bellows that can be heard several miles away.
Well, hello there! Did you know that sea lions regulate their body heat by sailing a flipper above the water’s surface? The even neater part is that it works both ways. They can either absorb heat or release it through their raised flipper. It’s kind of like sleeping with one foot out of the blankets at night. We love that this pup is enjoying a little sunshine siesta while everyone else is frolicking in the pool!
