I'm editing and uploading a new Youtube video to help parents and students multiply using the box method. This is the "new math" parents have been fearing. I hope my video can erase those fears! Hit like if you've never seen this before or if you teach it!
It’s FRIDAY!!! 🙌🏽 And what a great week it was! We celebrated so many milestones. 🎉 A newcomer sharing for the 1st time, a writer penning his 1st full sentence (YAY!), and so many 😳🤯😮 moments as these kids explored the animal books in our library. This #feetupfriday
is dedicated to these wide-eyed, hard working, giggly, creative, kiddos that make teaching the best profession. #lovemyjob

We're working on summarizing, recounting story details, and sequence. One way to demonstrate this understanding was by using this awesome graphic organizer from Jen Jones (@hellojenjones
)! The students rarely get the opportunity to illustrate, so they were so excited (and proud) to show off their drawing skills. (In pic #4
, the student really wanted me to take a picture, but just the one illustration, so we covered the rest with the book. Heh.) I can't always give time in guided reading to drawing, but the occasional opportunity is appreciated! It also afforded me time for some one-on-one conferring as the others worked. Win-win!
We just finished our Spanish language development (SLD) training for #dualimmersion
teachers. Teachers watched a classroom demonstration and then later implemented the sequence in their own classrooms. Later they returned with their artifacts and debriefed with grade level colleagues. Teachers taught grade level standards and provided scaffolding for their Spanish language learners. Teachers also provided small group instruction to “English only” students learning Spanish, with instruction targeted to their Spanish language proficiency level. Swipe left for additional pictures. These are a few examples of some artifacts from teachers on their first implementation. Please contact us for more information on our SLD training for dual immersion educators! #ELLs
I've created a great evaluation evidence binder using Marzano. It's up on my teachers pay teachers buff.ly/2KEOKpK
I think my subconscious was ready for Christmas today!
The best part of our animal unit...checking out the Giant Panda live Cam at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo! 🐼 Such a fun way to teach language and content. We will contrast these present progressive verbs (climbing) with the simple present tense verbs (climb) that we’ll use in our “reports.”
How sweet is this! It was his third class with VIPkid. I pulled out all the stops and he was a great student. I sent him an e-card to welcome him to VIPKid and thank him for a great class. I think I have a new regular!
