If you lack a strong employer brand, people will refer to your consumer brand when considering applying for jobs. .
If your public-facing brand has been trashed, people won't buy from you or try working for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A cohesive and consistent (and positive!) brand experience will lift you up above your competition. People will come to rely on you, trust you, and buy from you. The power is in consistency. .
So, how are you controlling your brand narrative?
... Prefer to fly by the seat of your pants? Here are a few tips to get you thinking strategically about your brand experience.
- Map your people journey; customers, clients, community, and talent. Where are those initial and key points of contact? Social media? Website? Face to face? .
- Identify your key messages. What are you saying at each touchpoint? Are you communicating your values and core truths? Are you the same with randoms that you are with clients? .
- Are you living your values? Do your customer complaints conversations carry the same tune and voice of your sales process? Does your recruitment process sing true to your brand promise? - Now, identify the gaps and the inconsistencies and connect a cohesive strategy. ⠀

No sleep but feeling PUMMMMPED this morning - maybe it's the overtired but feeling the flow back in my business.
I'm going to be honest - I had a 6 month renovation at the beginning of the 2018 and it totally took my biz mojo. Clients and sales went down, content creation went down, energy levels were low and I was like - meh! A reno can do that but also I think life can just suck it out of you sometimes and it happens. .
I spoke with a biz friend recently who was exactly the same - she got sick and everything kinda went to poo. But getting back into your zone on genius is always energising. .
You may or may no know know but I run a brand consulting division for a global corporate - part time - from my home office - working with amazing brands and clients and doing work I truly love. I then work with SME's and small business owners in TCX to create content, build their brand and more. I don't really care how other people think things should look, I just do my thang. Sometimes I take holidays by myself or with girlfriends from around the world as well as with the fam bam, I work in corporate and the entrepreneurial world. I binge watch project runway or any fashion shows on a regular basis and I dance offs in the kitchen to funky house on a regular basis. There is nothing better then Rose wine on a hot summers day! #justsaying

It made such a huge difference in my biz to my confidence online because I had a look and feel I loved, I felt like it really reflected my biz and I was able to send them to organisers for speaking gigs and media coverage. If you’re looking to create a more polished look to your biz then it’s one investment that is so with while. These days I do mini shoots for more regular content more often but Miss7 also takes a good iNSTA pic every now and again too 😜👊🏼📸

6 years ago I dove into the world of branding. I took ALL the courses and classes, worked with clients, tested and tried and then created my own conclusions. When learning from small and big business - I get to climb inside the big machines and see what they're doing and then watch the nimble smaller players go big, it's amazing! .
There are so many businesses I watch online to see what they do, how they interact with their customers, create mega experiences and build tribes that love them - it's a constant learning process and I it's something I LOVE talking about at events or working with clients on to work out what works for them. Everyone is different. How they build their brand is different. What might work for one person, may not work for another and that's the beauty of brand building. It's the emotional connection we have to businesses, people and things. .

So much so, I wrote an article about it in CEO World Magazine (link in bio). The GD did not try to be the Stones, the Beatles, or any other band that crossed paths with them in their 50 year history. They were uniquely them...love it or hate it. 🎶
The first step to employer brand management is one of self discovery. Who are you as an employer. What makes you unique and distinctly you? This creates true talent “stickiness” and real engagement. Great brands can be polarizing. “Vanilla” organizations never create raving fans but strong brands do. Next comes owning it and rocking it! Do you...save the clones for Star Wars.

Ga jij gevonden worden als werkzoekende receptionist wanneer je op LinkedIn staat met de functietitel 'Directeur eerste indrukken'?
Recruiters en werkgevers zoeken op tref- en steekwoord receptionist.
Op LinkedIn gaat het niet werken, dat is zeker. Tenzij je het elders in je profiel opvangt door steekwoorden elders terug te laten komen.

Always find it amazing that when I'm speaking with a new client and I ask how they found me or why they want to work with me - their answer usually has a bit of an ah ha moment. You know why? Because everyone sees you in a different way. What they need from you is different. What they want to be, do and have and how they see you fitting into that is different. .
Last night I was speaking with a gorgeous new client and she saw builder her brand as her having more confidence, structure and strategy around it. Which I totally believe is key and I can't wait to work with her to make it happen. .
I think talking to clients is without a doubt the best learning ground for how your brand is being perceived and received. We can make it what we think we want it to be but what others see is their reality. "I just want to be as confident with my brand as you are with yours". And that's how we ended the conversation before we start working together in the next week or so. Live what you teach - Happy Tuesday!
Unilever idea trophy is a prestigious business and leadership challenge for university students across africa. This annual competition started in 2011 and 2013 in Nigeria and Ghana respectively and evolved into an african regional competition by 2015. The 2018 edition is currently the 7th for Nigeria and 6th for Ghana.
It is a fun, yet challenging and creative experience where students figure out how business works in real life while developing their own skills and competencies.
Semifinalists in the competition get invited to an intensive bootcamp and are also matched to seasoned professional mentors. The winning teams will recieve exciting prizes while the top teams get an all-expense paid trip to south Africa to represent their country at the unilever Africa idea trophy regional competition.
This competition is open to people in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, CDI, Zimbabwe.
Last year we focused on the Lipton brand, this year we are going to be focusing on the OMO brand.
