In the warm light of the setting sun the Zarqa River flows through a picturesque valley until it joins the Jordan River in the West. In the seventies the King Talal Dam was built across the lower Zarqa in order to store the water and to provide it to the city of Amman but due to the high level of pollution it can only be used for irrigation of plantations in the Jordan Valley. Meanwhile the people in the city still struggle with watershortage during the hot months of the year.
Admiring beautiful places like this one, should encourage us all to protect the environment for future generations. Moreover, it is in our own interest to treat our water ressources with great care as they are essential for all forms of life.

After spending 9 months in New Zealand, it's finally time to leave this beautiful country. From establishing close relationship with the locals, to exploring scenic places, I can conclude that it has been a worthwhile stay. See you again New Zealand!
