I'm really amazed to actually post this photo with it's text, because it's really a tribute to the journey I did the past more than 7 years. 8 years ago I didn't even imagine that I could run along a crop field, or in nature, without taking anti-allergic pills every day for months. And this is really the result today: neither I have taken a single pill this year, nor did I last year. I actually can't remember the year before. But I consider this a major achievement for me.
As I said, 8 years ago my allergies were really hard to live with. Not to compare with the severe problems I had as a child or teen, but still I needed to take pills for months to stay active, or at least enjoy myself a bit every day. I have tried all the medical treatments available, but it didn't help much. Thus I did stick to repressing the symptoms and developing strategies to cope with it (like staying inside at daytime).
And then, 7 years ago, I started to experiment. I turned vegetarian just to try it out, and soon learned about people who eat exclusively vegan during allergy season to stay free from symptoms. This amazed me so much, that I started experimenting with vegan foods myself. And because it was so much fun, I continued it.
I continued it, and started seeing effects. Over the years my symptoms started to become less strong, and other areas of physical healths improved, too. Experiencing this effects lead to learning about health and experimenting with a lot of things for me. Maybe I'll write another time about it.
