A man just came up...complimented me on my kids...and shared that his wife just died and he didn’t feel like living anymore...”Christmas isn’t fun anymore”, he stated. He wanted the “Good Lord to take him”. Without hesitation I told him, “She will always be with you and I pray that you have an amazing holiday”. KJ caught my reaction after...I was stuck for a second. The things we take for granted......😔 #EnjoyYourLife #EnjoyYourKids #ImEnjoyingMine #LifeIsShort #ChristmasShopping2018
It’s rough when your kids are both up multiple times throughout the night. You forget what it’s like to get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep!
Last night, my son was up at midnight, my daughter was up from 4:30-5:30 and my son woke up again at 5:30 ready to go for the day.
Before, I would be tired and resentful, and to be honest, probably not the best mom.
Now, regardless of my lack of sleep, I am able to wake up in the morning, stay productive, focused, and alert.
I am excited to spend Saturday with my children and take on the day. Let’s do this!
My mom’s latest creation... Ugly sweater Christmas cookies! I keep asking her if I can help her make something one of these days. 👏👏👏 @britishbakeoff
Benny was VERY excited when he found out that his shirt matched mine 😂 Ben’s emoji face ➡️😆
Happy Flashbacks: July 4, 2016 in the Tetons. The town of Jackson has a great parade with floats from even the National Park service parks. One float had a geyser with a fire hose that sprayed us- Loved it! The paraders threw candy, lip balm, fire hats, mardi gras necklaces, organic suntan lotion - I am that brown bc the sun at 7000 feet is that intense - and full size ice cream sandwiches (really!). We watched fireworks with a large group of townies in a small rodeo parking lot. Earlier in the day we scrambled around on top of one of the Tetons. That day we were gone from 7 a.m. until midnight. Slept under the stars at the foot of the Tetons. We must have known the sun would go because what followed was a week of rain, hail, spattering of snow and almost 2 weeks every night of freezing temps. Up until that point of my life, I was a sea level, look for the nearest lodge (at night) at the first sign of sub 50 degree weather kinda girl. Robbie was oblivious to weather bc I thankfully had every layer known to momkind...his attitude and persistence to play and my intuition this was better than anything I had ever done or could ever do as a parent (or human being in the process of life) sprouted the seed of our nomadic journey in the national parks. 99 parks later... #nomad #nature #yogaintheparks #findyourpark #yellowstonenationalpark #tetonnationalpark #nps #traveling #travelingfamily #unconventionallife #escapetheratrace #enjoyyourkids #liveyourdream #juniorranger #travelingfamily #love #ritanaomi
Look at this beautiful cake my mom made for a retirement party! She has a gift! And a lot of patience 😂 #mom
It’s for this moment that the holiday season ALWAYS warms my ❤️ It’s not about the lights and the glitter or the exchange of presents... it’s about the awe and appreciation of the stillness and magic that lies in this moment.
To see my little ‘BIG’ ones enjoying trimming the tree, remembering the source of each ornament hung with care...and humming along to carols that have formed the basis of our extended family Carol
Competition (my song choice isn’t doing so well)...and then rushing down with their PJs on, to lie beneath it and admire it all... this is priceless and authentic.
Remember to take a moment to enjoy the little
things that often get overlooked in the hustle and bustle of the holidays... and if you have little BIG ones, hug them and hold them tight ❤️

I can feel time racing away from me at the moment. V is nearly 3, and will be starting kinder in 2019. Serena is off to high school and Stella begins VCE. I get to the end of every day lately and new telling myself... just stop, slow down and enjoy the kids. Who cares if there’s shoes all over the floor, who cares if the dinner dishes are left on the bench, who cares if the laundry is exploding, because one day (soon) I’ll wake up and they’ll be all grown up and won’t need mum as much as before ♥️ #thelifeofv #slowdownmum #mumlife #needtostop #enjoyyourkids #motherhood #motherhoodunplugged #childhoodmemories #styletrendskids
Leaving house at 545 am for hockey game is my early morning yoga sadhana today. Headstart on day! we discovered Robbie is a left hand hockey player and right handed writer...made a huge difference in his game. They tied one of best teams in league today 4-4. He is singing at the top of his lungs! And it’s only 8:45 am 😂 #yoga #hockey #enjoy #enjoyyourkids #theytied #ambidextrous
😂 Awwwwe my teenagers! I am so grateful God has blessed me with an abundance of patience and understanding for people but especially for my children; who I probably learned patience from LoL 💖🙏🤗 Someone once said it’s the tantrums and the melt downs of a toddler that truly prepares us for the experiences of a teenager. If we can’t handle them at two, it’s not going to be any easier at fourteen! LoL #TakeYourTime #EnjoyYourKids #EveryAgeIsBeautiful
I’m trying to hard to finish this art book I’ve been writing. It’s December so a day off school seemed like I great idea. . . .
But then my kids say, “Mom, can we do some art? Mom, can I paint ornaments? Mom, can I do some wood burning? Mom, I need more Burnt Umber!” Mom, my tortoise looks evil! Mom, I have paint leftover, can I have more paper?”
. . .
My art teacher heart loves all this, but list-making, box-checking, task-oriented side is screaming! Anyone else get conflicted about the to-do list this time of year??? . . .

There are moments to take pictures and moments you have to know as a parent to take a step back. A child should never be on pictures for Social media against their will. Camera life should be fun and a thing you want to as a child. Not something of the parent only.
Bring spontaneous back.
We see so many organized pictures of children in situations and poses which are searched for by the parents.
I so love the ones which are made on unexpected moments, in clothes you normally wear, maybe even with the hair not in order and even a food spot here and there.
Just as life is itself.
It comes in chaos, in special moments.
Those are the pictures I love the most. No matter where we are.
And the ones I cannot freeze on camera because I was too late or enjoyed the moment too much, I will remember forever because they have been taken by my heart and soul.
Showing pictures of your kids on Instagram can be great, but the moment of showing them will be over in a minute, if you enjoy the moment with your kids more, that will last a lifetime. Children are adults before you know it. Even when you think that will last a long while, their youth will be over like in a second. You will wonder where it has gone too. So enjoy the now more. The camera and social media will wait, the growth of your child not.
What I’ll be making at 2am tonight... 👌👏😂 #cheatmeal
I am truly honored to share a photo anytime with the coveted leg lamp. It’s my #majoraward
Sometimes I have to remind myself to slow down, love every moment, even the hard ones, cause these moments will soon be gone. When you have three young kids you have to go go go, everything takes twice as long, getting ready, loading in the car, grocery shopping. I am not usually late to things cause I keep us on schedule, routine. But this week as made me see not to get through things so fast, it’s okay to slow down, take a break, let the house get messy and enjoy my kids. #itsnicetoslowdown #loveyourlife #enjoyyourkids #bathtime #littleboys #messybutthatdontmatter
