Forcing growth on this damaged Hoya Carnosa Wall Mount. See all the dark reddish-green leaves? Those are all new growth that was done with a grow light over a couple of weeks. This particular mount is made up of a normal green Hoya Carnosa and a Variegated Hoya Carnosa Rubra. You’ll notice the variegated growth has a stripe through it, too! Can’t wait to get this lush again! ❤️

Ant Plant (Myrmecodia Tuberosa Papuana) is an Australian native epiphyte and a protected species. 🍃
For my final post on my hardware store plants, I purchased three tillandsia. I know the species of two plants. The one on the left is Ionantha, the center plant is Caput-medusae, but I'm not sure what the plant on the right is. I think it may be Brachycaulos. I added a second photo of the plant in question. If anyone knows what species it is, please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Simple ideas are the best. Love this clever idea of displaying Tillandsia usneoides, (Spanish Moss) inside an Anemone shell, a species that normally grows atop tree limbs. Airplant is another common name for these plants, which are becoming ever more popular. Most Tillandsia species are epiphytes – i.e. they normally grow without soil while attached to other plants. Some are aerophytes or air plants, which have no roots and grow on shifting desert soil #tillandsia #usneoides #spanish #moss #anemone #airplants #epiphyte #aerophytes #noroots #desert #soil #jellyfish #design #plants

T R I C H O M E S 💚 the little "hairs" on the leaves of Tillandsia are the conduit for nutrient absorption. Different #airplants
will have different levels of trichomes, and in general the ones with more abundant/visible trichomes will require less in the way of soaking or watering as they will be able to pull more moisture from the air. This is why watering method and frequency will also be determined by the humidity levels in your environment. And why air quality is so important for #epiphytes

🌿Australian Native Fern Elder Platycerium bifurcatum of tribe Polypodiaceae - An Earthly reflection of Mother Gaia’s Healing Hands🌿
Beautifully mounted cascading Hoya Carnosa Wall Mounts. With cork bark we often get a lot of natural asymmetry that works perfectly in offsetting the round burlap base of where the plant grows. Hoyas Carnosa are some of the hardiest epiphytic plants that also flower when they mature. We love the variegated varieties like this one because the leaves look naturally painted by nature’s brush. 🌸

is one half of Morihana. She is a lover of strange and unique plants and her whole home is crazy Jungle! This is her bathroom which she calls her #JungleLoo
. She specializes with epiphytes (plants that grow naturally in trees in forests across the world) and handmade wall mounts that blur the line between art and plants. Each plant is sewn into multiple casings and then wrapped. She often calls this a transcended method of Kokedama where cork bark is the base medium in which the epiphytic plants are placed. Her most recent explorations have taken her into the world of mounting beautiful Ant Plants. These are plants that have a mutualistic relationship with ants in their natural environments by providing terrestrial ant colonies with homes. But, none of the actual plants come with ants. Phew! 🐜 🌿
