and I'm so glad she thought to call me for input!! People are always curious what I eat... so let me tell you about splenda.... I use to eat it! When I was studying to be a #dietitian
and scared of too much sugar or diabetes I reduced my I take of "added sugar" and used splenda in its place. ...but over time I decided I didnt like the taste too much.
I hate when yogurt is sweetened with #sucralose
. I can taste it right away same goes for #stevia
. I hate sucralose in coffee. 🤢
I'd rather have coffee with real sugar or heck, even coffee black than with sucralose. ☕
And for me, @noosya
yogurt with real sugar and real fats always wins over any zero sugar low cal yogurt. #preach
The real deal ... SUGAR... is what makes my taste buds happy AND my body fueled, full, satisfied, and ready to run.
BUT.... I LOVE the occasional coke zero or diet coke. 😳
I DO!!! That's the truth. Especially if it's from a fountain 🤣 I swear it tastes better from a fountain!
It satisfies some weird need for carbonation. Sorry, but sparkling water just doesnt cut it for me. I ❤ Coke Zero.
I've also been know to grab the occasional @redbull
for a #caffieneboost
... and in that case, I go for #sugarfree
(sweetened with sucralose) because I, personally, eat PLENTY of carbs and sugars through food like potatoes, fruit, pasta, rice, quinoa, dried fruit, sports beverages, sports gels, & so much more... So what I'm trying to say is this:
I prefer to fuel my body with nutrients that will HELP ME. Splenda does not add any nutritional benefit to my diet so 90% of the time I'm choosing whole natural foods and real sugar to fuel. However... the occasional coke 0️⃣ makes me happy. It satisfies my taste buds... I enjoy it! AND THAT IS IMPORTANT!
ENJOYING FOOD IS IMPORTANT TO ME! That's what allows me to feel like I have options and freedom and that I'm not restricted or feeling deprived.
So.. my perspective: focus on food and nutrients that HELP you. Allow the other things when it brings personal enjoyment.
