As we may have come to understand, each of us is governed by the 5 elements of Nature. Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
As per Ayurveda, the dosha or vital energy of Vata is also is known as the King of Doshas. It is made up of Air and Ether. Vata acts as the wind element in the body, serving as not only the carrier but it is that which contains all. This energy is responsible for movement, expression and release of all impulses. .
Vata is known to accumulate in the Large Intestine & Colon, spreading to blood, bones and other parts. Arthritis and gastric trouble is very commonly seen in a Vata dominant person. .
💠Some common Vata traits:
▪️Thin & lean body type. Doesn't gain weight too easily.
▪️Dryness in skin, hair, eyes, throat
▪️Weak digestion, bloating/ constipation is common
▪️High tendency to feel cold and prefer warmer climates
▪️Thoughts running at a lightening speed, anxious & worrisome
▪️Always on the go, rarely in the present. Quick changing.
▪️Can be very creative but also indecisive .
If you find yourself relating to most of the above, you know you're probably a Vata dominant person. Identify your Dosha type or mix. ➡️(Quiz link in bio)
💠PS: It is important to remember that we have all the 3 Doshas in each of us in different proportions and this balance can keep changing from time to time basis age, environment, weather, food, exercise etc.
With this shift, we can learn to ADAPT by modifying our lifestyle, food and yogic practices.
Ayurveda & Yoga help us to do just this. .
