Not sure how blogging can improve your website’s search performance? Well, take your cue from this little guy ... Long tail keywords comprise 70% of all search engine queries. If you sell essential oils online, and you only ever think about ‘essential oils’ as THE key term, to interlace throughout your site, well, you’re truly missing out man.
Consumers are usually looking for very specific products, or information, online. For example, as an avid EO fan myself, I have used the search queries: ‘organic essential oils’; ‘certified pure essential oils’; and ‘therapeutic uses and benefits of essential oils’, but I’ve never once typed in ‘essential oils’. Pshh - BORING.
With some handy keyword research, through Moz, or Google’s keyword planner, you can zero in on the specifics that users are keying in, relevant to your business, and BLOG about them.
Yes, Google loves nothing more than fresh content, and lots of it! And, if you regularly update your site with articles, addressing these long tail queries, something magical will happen - you’ll find your site, sitting up on its page-one high horse, turning its nose up at the lousy suckers beneath.
You see, SEO agencies would like you to think that ranking well is really effing hard, but it all comes down to four major players.
1. Fresh, quality content
2. Word density
3. Keyword density
4. Backlinks (other websites that link to your own).
In other words, if you do your research, update your site with shareable content, and network, to build up those backlinks, you’ll be golden 😊

Weeks At Reg is the time an item will live at full price on your floor. Trend items usually have a shorter life and may only live for 4 to 6 weeks, while basics can live all season. Its OK for an item to have a short life. Flowing in newness gives your customers a reason to frequently visit your store and regularly check back for new product.
Weeks at reg also informs your unit buy and your margin forecast.
You want to consider seasonality when determining your weeks at reg. Be honest about how long you can actually sell this item at reg price. You don't want to be at reg price because you just brought it in, while the rest of the marketplace is at markdown because it's end of season.
Having a weeks at reg plan will also help you measure the success of an item. If you planned it to live for 6 weeks, but after a month you are sold out, then you exceeded your plan! Maybe you reordered based on the higher sales, or maybe you brought in something new to refresh your assortment.
I’ve been drinking #tea
like crazy for the last few days 🤧😷🤒 and it got me thinking about #teabags
- did you know some tea bags contain plastics? Yup, up to 25%...
Some tea bags are treated with epichlorohydrin, a plastic that helps keep the bags from breaking. The problem is that epichlorohydrin can potentially break down in water…and be released into your drink—(NIOSH labels it as a potential carcinogen). Another plastic found in tea bags is polypropylene, a plastic polymer that’s used to seal them up and keep their shape in hot liquid.
Even though the amounts of plastic found in tea bags is “minimal,” we drink tea because it’s #healthy #therapeutic
and beneficial to the body. And I don’t know about you, but I drink up to 5-bags-worth of tea a day! So let’s invest in teas that make an effort to be clean!
Swipe right to learn more ➡️
* use #looseleaftea

Hiding among the trees. Photo by @nibe_il_lungo
Did you know? Orangutans possess many adaptations that help them disguise in the forest from predators, like tigers. Orangutans spend almost all of their day in the tree canopy so it is no surprise that they have adapted to live in the trees. Their long arms also help them disguise as tree branches and can hang in canopies for hours! #mysteptoprotect #palmoilfreecertification

Lol but actually, surround yourself with people who lift you up, support your causes, and engage with your passions even if they don’t share the same ones.

Don't let Monday get you down! Hoping yours is filled with as much joy and laughter as this beauty in @ethicalsilkco
Does it bother you guys I am not on here all the time? 🤷♀️ Everything I’ve read is about being consistent. Posting daily, sharing daily, giving daily. I do not have the time or energy to do this though. I hope it’s okay if I am not always around. Maybe you can vote on your preferences in stories.
I really enjoyed Andrea’s (@thepurposefulcloset
) post on @theminimalistwardrobe.
She didn’t buy anything all summer! I bought one secondhand item and a pair of pants for work, but I have not bought any other clothing items since March. There are plenty of cute shops, but the reality is, ethical fashion can be expensive. Plus, I want to go the extra step and choose something sustainable as well. Ethical + sustainable = 💸 Of course, I fully stand behind every penny when a company truly stands behind their values. But that doesn’t mean the monetary value is less. So, when I really need something, I know I can buy secondhand.
Really hoping my trip to Philadelphia works out this weekend, then the following weekend is a trip to Portland. They are quick trips, but if there’s something I must try to get to, let me know 😉

Today I've been working on implementation plans for a marketing strategy I put together last month for a client who is looking to bring CSR to the emerging market of gaming technology in Malta.
When you're trying to break into a new market, a lot of awareness building and lead education is needed. A strong content marketing and social media strategy can help establish you as the go-to expert - but where most brands get it wrong is by assuming that just posting regularly will bring in the sales.
Research shows it takes between 7-11 touch points to take someone from awareness of your brand through to a sale - and in the ethical space where every purchase is carefully considered, that can take even more. You need a clearly defined sales funnel with lots of lead nurturing activity in the middle.
That's why I've designed for this client a strong sales funnel with 11 clear touch points and a planned out customer journey to move leads through.
Now it's on to implementation, testing and measuring to get it all working like clockwork. I'm bringing in my team of trusted partners to work their magic on content creation, lead generation and turning the strategy into sales!
Then once we know each stage works, we'll automate it so she can spend her time working on all the new client projects it's going to bring in!
My favourite type of project 💙

Recently I came across a tee “I’m sewing. What’s YOUR superpower?” It made me smile 😊, but then I mulled over it and thought, hell, yay, that IS a superpower💪! Sometimes I’d find myself clicking though cool moms’ blogs to then jump to the brands feeds and check the newest collections. Those ever changing collections with infinite possibilities to create amazing outfits . Mostly only as long as a collection (or a “drop” - a new trend - a mini-collection with an even shorter life-cycle) lasts 🙄, then it will be all at 40% discount. But sign up for a newsletter and get a 10% welcome bonus off your 1st purchase 🤔. I bet lot of people end up with 4-5 pieces at the check out, instead of one. Promising we’d skip buying clothes for months in a row 😭. Sounds familiar?
Now we, sewing people, and anyone who’s interested in this craft, have a real power to resist that 💪. We make sustainable choices, that’s quite a lot of a contribution 👍. Sew what we really need and what fit us, sew as our kids grow, sew pieces that will last, as we don’t want them to be replaced every six months or so. We have sometimes to be creative and opt for simple, practical, evolving solutions 💚🌿 as our time, financial and textile resources are limited. Is the ever-changing drop/collections over-production mode at discount race going to last 🤔? Don’t think so 🤓. It won’t last if we all make efforts 🤗. As a small business I know that there is a huge potential for that. Helping people to sew, sewing to order, opting for vintage and recycling, encouraging to make hand-sewn gifts, just to name a few 💚🌿. If that’s not a superpower, I don’t know what is 😀. What do you guys think 🤗? P.S. That's me, working on my look book from summer. And thinking about seasonal impact and why put pressure to run ahead of the season and think in terms of collections 🤔? It’s in the nature of a small business to choose freedom to think and act differently. Not to copy any other existing models, but to re-think, reset and create our own. Sustainable, valuable and eco-responsible 🤓. I wish you all peace of mind, courage, creativity and patience. And may your sewing machines be unbreakable 🤗💚🌿!
Over the weekend, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in an aromatherapy workshop with @ohanahealinginstitute
in Kailua, Oahu.
Modules on posture, using oils when being more active and realigning with goals and intention-setting were on the agenda Saturday morning.
I felt so incredibly reenergized and refreshed to have been able to have this experience and to be welcomed with my little one in tow.
Everything about this experience reminded me why I love supporting wellness businesses.
I hated the job. Only loved looking outside from the window. And there it was, an old yellow house with a striking green window. It never opened. There were no one at the house. I used to feel that the window knows things.. Stories of good old days.
Sometimes I used to dream that the owners have arrived. They have cleaned the room and opened the window and I could see them. I could see them throwing parties for old friends. Music and dance... After all that both of them would come near the window. They would take a tour to the memory lane. Or they would look at the stars and plan about the future.. slowly very slowly.... .
This is the story behind "Moner Janla". The hand embroidered yellow cushion will make your home brighter. Kantha stich has been used here.

was the first interview I did for this Summit... so Marla had the pleasure of me at my most nervous!
Watching back my interview with Marla I learnt some important lessons, the most important of which is how much ableism is encoded inside my every day language.
In this interview I use the word ‘blind’ to describe something out of awareness and watching it back this jumped out at me as problematic. It was only with the help of @anuradhakowtha
that I was able to understand the depths of just how problematic this language is and how entrenched it is within the English language.
My learning during this Summit has been huge in all sorts of ways.
Lots of the interviews are not perfect, not by a long shot. Yet... @andrearanaej
teaches about White Supremacy and capitalism in her course ‘Coaching as Activism’ (highly recommended) and shares resources describing how perfectionism upholds these oppressive systems. And so, while the Summit is not perfect, it IS powerful. The message is more important than perfection. Join us for Maria’s interview sharing their experience of collaboration and thoughts on qualifications. You’ll find the link in my bio.
I have to fight the urge to add tissue paper and boughten thank you cards every time I fill an order. I keep telling myself what matters more than an IG reveal pic is the quality of the items and sticking to my promise to reduce waste! But rest assured there are all kinds of good vibes in each little white paper bag ♻️🌱🦄

Although I’ve come back to Ghana 🇬🇭 mainly to see my boyfriend 😁 I’m also using it as a bit of a sourcing trip for products for my new shop!!!! So, on Friday, I potteries off to the craft market in Accra where they sell a whole range of Ghana made products and crafts from fabrics to these super beautiful baskets from the Bolgatanga region of Ghana! I had to excercise a lot of self restraint to stop myself buying them all but finally settled on 5 different styles to try out 😉 Aren’t they amazing 😍😍😍😍 They will all be available to buy online and in the shop as soon as I get home 😉 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ My dad snapped a photo of me and Vitus(the basket maker) while deciding on products and negotiating prices 😁
You actually CAN create the life you want, you just have to be open to the tools & options available to you. Are you?
I hear from so many people every day saying that they want to start their own business, become self employed, earn more money or have a less stressful job but they also say “ewww... no, I don’t want to do network marketing, I’m not salesy”. 🤦🏼♀️
No matter what you are doing for work, you are always selling yourself. Weather in the interview process or every single day on the job.
When I applied to my first job in a restaurant I practically begged my soon-to-be boss to allow me to “just be a host instead of a server” because of how awful I thought I would be at trying to upsell customers on appetizers, sides and desserts. A few days in, he threw me under the bus and I became a server.
I quickly learned that selling isn’t a dirty word. It’s something we do every single day and the reason why is to help solve a problem. That’s really all business is, very efficient problem solving.
I’m not good at what I do because I’m a great sales person. *I promise you, I can’t sell anything I don’t actually believe in!* I’m good at Arbonne because I genuinely care about helping people solve their own problems and I’m great at connecting people with potential solutions.
The thing about solving problems is learning how to ask people the right questions to help you learn who is open to solving their problem, and who just wants to complain.
We all have access to the most incredible tools thanks to the Internet and mobile devices. Every single one of us CAN do what sets our soul on fire, that includes you 🔥
Are you open to exploring those resources or are you comfortable and content enough with where you’re at right now?
This is an invitation to all my ambitious babes who know they are worthy and deserving of more than just an average life.
I would love to hear from you and learn about your situation to see if what I do could be a tool to help you move closer to being where you want to be in your life 😘💜 comment below or shoot me a DM and let’s chat! 🤳🏼📲
