Happy Tuesday! I have a quick question! Why are you here...on Instagram? Are you here just to look at pretty pictures, laugh at memes, read the captions, or authentic engagement? I have to be honest I really hate small talk 🙊. It’s so draining! 😩 I crave those authentic connections, like the one Jill Scott sings about in her song Long Walk...🎶 “Let's take a long walk around the park after dark
Find a spot for us to spark
Conversation, verbal elation, stimulation
Share our situations, temptations, education, relaxations” 🎶 (y’all I love some Jill Scott!). So, why should Instagram be any different?! Let’s stop the small talk and like/unlike game. I’ve made some amazing and authentic connections via Instagram and I’m looking forward to making more! So, I would like to challenge you to just get real and take a moment to connect with someone new on IG today! Also, comment below if you have made an unexpected connection on friendship on Instagram. Oh, and make sure you’re following along with my stories! I’ll have a few sneak peeks coming your way today! #letsconnect #authenticconnections #truthytuesday #letstalk #nosmalltalk #brandsthatinspire
I'm finally spending some time playing around with Lightroom Mobile. Is anyone else using it? Do you edit your mobile pictures at all? Using the IG app? VSCO cam?
I'm probably sticking with the DSLR images for now but I have to admit, I'm always rather impressed by the feeds that are iPhone only!
What do you love to see on Instagram feeds? Professional DSLR pictures? Or less scripted mobile photos?
I receive so many compliments on my handbags and backpack from Sseko. I love sharing the story of how these bags are handmade and help end poverty for multiple families across Africa. Well, for today only, these bags are 40% off to celebrate Sseko's 9 years in business and our sending 106 girls in Uganda to college!🙌🙌 Each of our leathers bags are expertly crafted by artisans in Ethiopia and Kenya who Sseko partners with to carry on the rich tradition of their craft at a fair wage. In addition to generating revenue that helps further our mission to educate and empower women in Uganda, every exquisitely crafted Sseko product is helping to end the cycle of poverty by creating dignified jobs and sustainable economic opportunity across the globe. Isn't that amazing?!🙌🙌Shop the link in my bio!

Reminder: You get to write the rules for your life. Use a journal to change your stories and you will change your reality. I had a fabulous client who felt there was no eligible men in her area, so we re-wrote that story... and now she is experiencing an overwhelming amount of amazing potential partners! I have always done discovery calls to fill my coaching spots, but a few weeks ago I decided it would be fun to have some dream clients reach out to me and just KNOW they were meant to work with me to change their life... and it started happening within days of journaling about it. Years ago I was a yo-yo dieter always obsessing about my weight, so I re-wrote the rules and decided I naturally worked out and had a balanced diet... since then it’s been easy and has become my default state. My point is... you have the power to write how life gets to be for you. You can practice a new story, reprogram your mind, embody a new energy, and start to call in your purpose work, dream clients, abundance, adventures, soulmate lovers, or whatever you truly desire, with more ease and flow and grace. So what story can you start telling today? You are worthy!
p.s. Omg Omg Omg! Bliss Babes group coaching program starts soon!!! Are you feeling the call to transform your mindset and life, and slay your goals with like-minded women? Create a life of alignment, pleasure, self-worth and your wildest dreams. Link in bio. ✨🌏📝👑💐🦋💎💕
The number one lesson I’ve learned in life and in business: Not everyone is for me, and I am not for everyone.
You see, I’ve spent so much time wanting to help everyone! I just “had to save every soul out there!”
The sad reality is, not everyone is ready. I know that now.
I’ve had to face the fact that I simply don’t have it in me to drag people. I don’t have the energy to carry others on my shoulders. As much as I want to, I just can’t be anyone’s savior.
But I can be a partner. We can hold each other’s hands. We can speak life into each other. We can set goals together. I can sprint alongside you.
So many are so comfortable sleepwalking, but I’m wide awake. And I’ve found that I’d rather run with one than carry one thousand.
So to all my fiery entrepreneurs out there, release the desire to offer solutions to everyone. Instead, offer solutions to those that can receive them. Lock arms with visionaries like yourself, and together, you will soar.
I’m not great at change.
It’s the weirdest thing, really. Because sometimes I CRAVE change. I feel so antsy I could jump out of my skin.
And yet when change arrives, it also brings waves of anxiety - even when its GOOD change.
My brain wants so desperately to be able to predict the future, to know how everything turns out, to prepare for every possible scenario...and it easily goes into overload during major seasons of change.
And along with the fretting about the future comes a stage I’ve become more accustomed to over the years - grieving the end of the stage you’re leaving behind, even if the one ahead of you is even BETTER.
Y’all. Just feeling all the feels over here, surrounded by boxes and watching my furniture leave with its new owners one piece at a time.
This week is weird. Good weird, not bad weird. And despite the angsty tone of this post, I’m really ok and actually VERY excited - but, closing chapters in your life brings up alllll the shiz you work so hard to keep buried. So, I’m in the shiz a bit this week, and happy, and excited, and all the things, and damn it’s weird to be a human sometimes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Happy Moving Week, y’all! It’s going to be a wild ride. 😜
2 truths and a lie because @speaksocialagency

Cute sand room, instead of mud room, for your beach house!
Doughnuts...I think they may the happiest of foods. And it’s Monday...so, you do the math.
I wouldn’t say I’m impatient...I just like to GET THINGS DONE. When I was told it’d take 20 minutes to move our bags from hotel room, I opted to move them myself.
But it’s not just luggage, friends. It’s my business, my goals...it’s even Instagram!
I want a quick + easy way to create posts, write captions that connect with my followers, and I don’t spend ALL day doing it.
Good news: I created an Instagram planning system to help me do this...and I’m sharing it with YOU!
Join me for my free, live class “How to Plan, Create + Execute a MONTH of Instagram Posts in ONE DAY” on Tuesday 7/17
Save your seat (link in profile)...will I see you there? If you’ve watched it before, what did you learn or maybe tag a friend who it’ll help!
Remember: together we can GET THINGS DONE
One from my #currentlyreading
pile: So Much Life Left Over by Louis de Bernières. Set in the 1920s as the world recovers from The Great War, this novel follows Rosie and Daniel as they move to Ceylon (now part of present day Sri Lanka) to put the war behind them, “and to rekindle a marriage that gets colder every day. However, even in the lush plantation hills it is hard for them to escape the ties of home and the yearning for fulfilment that threatens their marriage.
Back in England, Rosie's three sisters are dealing with different challenges in their searches for family, purpose and happiness. These are precarious times, and they find themselves using unconventional means to achieve their desires. Around them the world is changing, and when Daniel finds himself in Germany he witnesses events taking a dark and forbidding turn.
By turns humorous and tragic, gripping and touching, So Much Life Left Over follows a cast of unique and captivating characters as they navigate the extraordinary interwar years both in England and abroad”
In addition to being completely enamoured by the amazing cover, I’m thoroughly captivated by the prose of this book! .

Happy Monday! I’m back at the 9-5, but my day started long before that. I’ve already answered a few client emails, edited a few sneak peeks from yesterday, washed a load of clothes, and started packing for my trip to DC coming up this weekend! Whew! What a busy Monday! My To-Do list is still a little long, but I know the best way to conquer a long list is to start doing and stop talking. So, make a list, get grinding, then talk about it once you’re done! That you don’t love gym now but one day you’ll be a coach and become obsessed with empowering girls.

Those who understand who you are called to be and will hold you accountable to your goals.
Who will see you slipping and call you, not talk about you.
The ones who will send you an encouraging word right on time.
Who accept who you are, but loves who you are becoming.
Expect that and don't settle for anything less🌻

Yep, still over here procrastinating packing, but I had a realization today that I thought was worth sharing...
I’m REALLY bad at asking for help, or even accepting help when it’s offered.
Like, full blown anxiety panic mode at the thought of imposing on anyone, in any way, ever. And to me, needing help feels equal to imposing on people.
And I’ve been that way forever, to the point that I had phone anxiety when I was little - and I realize now it was less about talking on the phone, and more about not wanting to impose on whoever I was calling (like to ask a store if they carried a toy I wanted).
When I was sick with the flu earlier this year, and could barely leave the couch, I let friends bring me food only after they literally insisted. And I still felt like I was a bad person for needing help and just remembering that experience gives me a pit in my stomach to this day.
I have a friend who has volunteered to watch Winston literally ANY time, and yet when I need help, I’ll still post something on FB asking if anyone can help rather than asking her directly, because then I feel less like I’m imposing on her (even though I know she’ll see it and then tell me she can do it).
And now this week, I’m moving, and I need help. I decided not to hire movers (which is my usual M.O., because I feel a little less guilty if I’m paying someone for help), which means I have to ask friends to lug boxes up and down stairs in the summer heat...and all day I’ve been feeling so desperately anxious about having to impose on people in that way.
And I don’t tell you any of this to pat myself on the back for my independence...it’s the exact opposite. I think it’s a major weakness to not be able to ask for help.
I think it’s a beautiful mark of strength when someone can admit they need help and gracefully and confidently ask for it, and then allow other people to step in and deliver on what they need. (Cont below)
Sometimes you’ve just gotta live the adventure xx
beach vibes only ☀️ this is my summer motto cause it rly doesn’t last long here 🤷🏻♀️🌟 ps I look tall in this photo 🙃
