Spent a good part of my weekend prepping @chrismpugh
GTR for PPF! As much as I would like to say that it was a breeze, this paint was a little for finicky than I would have liked. LC MF pads did a majority of the cutting but in return caused some unnecessary micro marring that made more work in the following steps. I ended up switching to the Rupes wool lineup with TLC Compound for a moderate cut with several passes and ONR as a wetting agent to increase working time and cool the surface between passes.
I finished out with additional passes of a LC Orange HDO and a black finessing pad to end with a 90%+ overall correction. Minus some solvent pop, I’m extremely happy with the end result. I had done rock chip repair several days prior with Dr. Colorchip which holds up extremely well to the abuse of polishing and countless paint prep wipedowns. I know some of you are thinking, why correct to this degree before PPF which masks some defects? And I would answer that with why wouldn’t you want to achieve as much gloss as possible before wrapping something in time for years to come? Anyway, just wanted to share a shot of the front clip in a NAKED form (no protection) Totally spaced on pulling out the scangrip for correction verification, but I’ll leave that to the imagination.
