I used to hit the gym 5 days a week religiously. But lately I’ve been focusing more on mom duties and work. At the end of the day when I rest my head I need to know my son is well taken care, I have food in the fridge and finances are squared away (my homework is done). I’ve only made it 2-3 times the last few weeks. Today while babysitting I did 20 deep squats outside and 20 push-ups on the kitchen counter, 30 heel raises and butt squeezes in different toe positions, 5 broad jumps and 10 bunny hops. I have lots of workout accessories at home that I’m hardly using and fixing to start. For moms (or anyone) that are not getting the exercise they need or want 10 minutes a day can make a difference. Rather than doing nothing, do something, even if it’s small. Allow yourself to just do a little for now. See it as progress. Making the effort will lift that heavy cloud. Chest and triceps for me hopefully in about an hour. May try to record a circuit. Some online shopping because this girl hates to shop. The one thing that gives me major anxiety for sure! Especially for Christmas. 😩. Train hard, eat for your goals, and be a nice person. 👍✌️👌😍😘.
Exercising for a couple of minutes at a time many times a day can be really beneficial.
- Can be just 3-5 minute bursts of exercise several times per day
- Reduces feelings of hunger
- Reduces the risk of heart disease (particularly as a lot of us have sedentary jobs)
- Puts the body into a fat-burning state
My short bursts of exercise are a little bit of hooping as many days as I can, cycling to work (10 mins), a few pilates exercises when I can. Luckily for me as well I have quite an active job.
Incorporate short bursts of exercise into your lifestyle. This helps you to make it a habit as you don’t have to set aside huge amounts of time. Get up out of your chair and walk to your colleagues desk rather than sending an email, use the stairs, get up as many times as you can and basically just keep moving.
