Transformation Tuesday Shout out to this guy Andy MacDonald He has done truly amazing. He started Hit, Cardio Weights with me and some of our group on an 8 week Fitness and Nutrition Progran 4 days working out 3days rest 1 day treat day He spends time with his family having fun as well as a fulltime manager. He has only been working out with bod for 12 weeks. Completed double time, liift4 and now on second time round with the mighty Joel. Andy was like my husband who was never the most active or excersise enthused but OMG the results Andy has had have blow me away. Hard work pays off. We can all do it if we get the right "can do" attitude.... oh and amazing support from the better half and coach lol. [Patience and Stubbornness are Key]⠀ ⠀ Time for a touchy-feely post 😭 Grab your kleenex box.⠀ .⠀ Today, I hit a milestone ⭐️⠀ .⠀ This milestone wasn’t the weight on the bar, or a rep PR, or anything like that. It was a more of a Technique Personal Record 📝⠀ .⠀ Today felt like the first time in a LONG time where I felt like I had actually figured out how to squat 💭 ⠀ .⠀ I made a small change in technique, using these two cues:⠀ 1️⃣ Get in your knees⠀ 2️⃣ Sit back from there⠀ .⠀ Nothing revolutionary - not in the least. But this small change made all the difference 🔑 ⠀ .⠀ Getting my knees forward early - and keeping them there - helped me break the eccentric phase of the squat into two different “movements” ⠀ .⠀ ▪️This led to better consistency between reps⠀ ▪️It also improved my feeling of “pushing the floor away”⠀ ▪️Most importantly, it helped me cut my depth a little higher (which has been a serious problem for me for years)⠀ .⠀ The crazy thing is this: it took about 10 years to figure this out. No joke.⠀ .⠀ I’ve been lifting since I was 13 years old and started squatting (with awful form, I might add) a year after that. Shout-out to @simonchang3 @twpauler @srivers18 and the OG Bodyworks crew in Yellowknife 🤟🏻⠀ .⠀ If we take a very conservative 30 total squat reps per week (I average about double that, but it makes the math even more convincing) and multiply that by 10 years, that’s a mind-blowing 15,600 squats 🤯🤯⠀ .⠀ And it took THIS long to finally figure out how to squat reasonably well. I might add, I still have lots to work on. But it looks like I’m getting there 👍🏻⠀ .⠀ The moral of the story is this: THIS TAKES TIME. That's a lot of patience and being too stubborn to quit 😬⠀ .⠀ In fact, if I could go back in time, I would also do two things differently:⠀ .⠀ ➡️ I’d stop wasting money on mass gainers, glutamine and pre-workouts ❌ ⠀ ➡️ And I’d invest those savings into hiring a knowledgable coach 👨🏻‍💻⠀ .⠀ If I had done these two things, I’d be miles ahead of where I am today. ⠀ .⠀ Plus, I might have “figured out” how to squat in 10 weeks - instead of 10 years 🤦🏻‍♂️⠀ .⠀ What's a lifting/personal/life milestone you hit recently?
Sometimes you gotta take negativity and mold it into positivity. For me there is no better place to get rid of negative vibes than the gym. Anytime something negative happens to me whether it’s an argument or a set back of some sort I know that doing my weights or cardio routine is an instant energy and mood boost. Let’s talk “exercise” . ต้องบอกก่อนเลยว่า Goal ของป็อปไม่ได้ต้องการออกกำลังกายเพื่อให้ผอมหรือลดนำ้หนัก... Goal หลักๆคือต้องการมีสุขภาพที่ดีและมีความสุขกับทุกๆวัน . ก่อนหน้านี้ป็อปเคยอยากผอม อยากได้ sixpack อยากเป็นเหมือนคนอื่น จนทำให้เครียด และ serious กับตัวเองมากเกินไป ตั้งกฎเกณฑ์กับชีวิตมากเกินไป ทำให้ชีวิตไม่มีความสุข . ตอนนี้เลิก restrict ตัวเอง เลิกตีกรอบ หันมาฟังเสียงร่างกายตัวเองมากขึ้น เลยทำให้ทุกวันนี้ออกกำลังกายแล้วมีความสุขมาก ไม่ได้รู้สึกว่าโดน force แต่ทำเพราะอยากทำจริงๆ . ตอนนี้ออกกำลังกาย 3-4 วันต่ออาทิตย์ weight 2 วัน cardio 1-2 วัน เน้นออกเองที่บ้าน ทำตามคลิปใน youtube บ้าง mix ท่าเองบ้าง (ไม่ชอบไป fitness เพราะขี้เกียจเดินทาง + ชอบออกเมื่อไหร่ก็ได้ ไม่ต้องมีเวลา fixed)... ช่วงไหนไม่ว่างจริงๆก็จะไม่ออก แต่ส่วนใหญ่จะพยายามหาเวลาออก เพราะออกแล้วรู้สึกสดชื่น หายเครียด . . ใครกำลังนอยด์ หรือ รู้สึกไม่มีความสุขกับสิ่งที่ทำอยู่ ลองปลดล็อกตัวเองดู ไม่ต้อง strict กับตัวเองเกินไป ลองเปลี่ยน perception ของตัวเองใหม่ ลองคิดถึงคนอื่นให้น้อยลงแล้วหันมา focus กับตัวเองให้มากขึ้น ลองหาดูว่าสิ่งที่ตัวเองต้องการจริงๆคืออะไร สำหรับป็อป self-love สำคัญกว่า sixpack มากมาย ❤️ #อยากแชร ์เผื่อช่วยใครได้ #healthydairy_pp

Groove has been greased, and the weight is moving again. Prescribed workout was 4x4 at 425, did 3 sets then decided to challenge that mental fear/block I have of failing. Told myself I’d do 7 reps for the last set but only did 6. Watching the video I can see that I let fear keep me from the 7th rep. So to challenge it again I backed down to 405 for 2x2 “slow” controlled reps which proudly turned to 2x3. Last video is the 3rd set of leg press that I’m using to increase time under tension for my quads. Then 3x12 hamstring curls and 15 mins of cardio.
