No filter needed for a late Day 8 #neverALOnewestand
Something I loved about my 5th grade teacher was her empathy, but more important at the time, her ability to distract and encourage. Mrs. Wigent saw a little girl who was hurting due to family circumstances and encouraged me to see the school counselor regularly. More than that, she kindled a passion for art and showed me my talent. I was in pain, but she found me an outlet and took the time to help me feel confident. I’ve tried, unsuccessfully, several times to locate her over the years to let her know how much she influenced me and my decision to become a teacher. Hopefully this is enough of an homage. 💜
