As promised, here’s a Meeko update. This is his first day tethered in the garden since he came home. He has been eating four day old chicks and a mouse every day to regain weight. He’s also been staying indoors to keep warm and help stop him wasting energy. Here he is just after his bath this morning, I tried to take a photo of him on his block but he insisted on sitting on my leg 😂 his eyes are much brighter and he is well on his way to recovery. Someone come take turns babysitting cause I don’t want to take my eyes off him 🙈

„Pierwsze próby hodowli sokoła wędrownego podjęli polscy sokolnicy już pod koniec lat siedemdziesiątych, a pierwsze wyniki uzyskano w połowie lat osiemdziesiątych. Gdy na początku lat siedemdziesiątych odradzało się polskie sokolnictwo, sokół wędrowny praktycznie już nie występował na terenie kraju, dlatego też wszystkie ptaki w polskich hodowlach pochodziły z podobnych - zachodnioeuropejskich.” The first attempts to farm a peregrine falcon were made by the Polish falconers already at the end of the seventies, and the first results were obtained in the mid-eighties. When Polish falconry was reborn in the early 1970s, the peregrine falcon practically didn’t occur anywhere in the country, which is why all the birds in Polish farms came from similar - West European. www.peregrinus.pl #zima #winter #sokolnictwo #falconry #sokółwędrowny #falcoperegrinus #ciekawostka #curiosity #englishpower #backtolanguages #alwayslearning #learninglanguages #dansk #german #русский #cyrylica

This is me! You’ve seen plenty of the equipment we make, but this is me. Below are a few questions I often get asked by customers. If you have any further questions you would like me to answer, please comment on this post!
Q - When did you start Falconry?
A - I started flying when I was around 11 years old, so around 20 years ago now. My dad bought me my first Harris Hawk, and we flew for many years together with a cast. We bred them in the breeding season and some years kept one back tojoin the cast. It was a real family thing!
Q - What was your favourite bird?
A - It was a Female Peregrine x Barbary, called Maude. She was one of those who used to fly for fun. At the time I got her, I was flying quite a few different Falcons for work, and she quickly identified herself as one of those “stand out”Falcons. She featured in the first A Clarke Falconry logo/banner as a headshot of her, and then our latest image of the gold falcon is inspired by her. It’s that Falcon silhouette you see when they come over head up high, flicking along, getting into position, just before the stoop. Unfortunately she was electrocuted whilst out hunting. She chased something I didn’t see and ended up on a tail chase. I tracked her and I knew something was wrong by how I was receiving the signal on the receiver, she had gone to perch on a pylon, touched both wires and was unfortunately electrocuted. Since then I have never flown anything that lit me up inside like she did. If you’re a Falconer and you’ve flown one of those birds, you know that feeling!

We love our birb so much. Birds are a slippery slope- chickens led to parrots which is leading towards.... falconry 😍#greencheekconure #falconry
These two beauties might be my most loyal clients, since I've met them, combined, they've done at least 5 sessions with me through out the years. Every single session with them is just a huge creativity boost for all three of us 🙌 Rachel on the left is an actress and Sue on the right is a belly dancer, we bounce ideas off of each other and come up with a super fun shoot to do once a year to get each other out of those creative ruts! This year, Sue's uncle let us use his beautiful falcon for some of the photos 😍 it was so much fun and I learned so much about birds just from the short encounter I had with him!
Not a bad start, can't wait to finish it!! Thank you @iced.kofi
