I went to a Vincent Van Gogh museum and it taught me a thing or two... at one point in his career Van Gogh learned that playing with large areas that have one or two colours is not a bad thing, he called these block colours. This may not be a Van Gogh, but it reflects his learning ideologies much like we are constantly learning how to make a better photo. He also taught me that you can cut off part of the subject to make a more interesting photo, what do you think of this one?

Finally up and on display! ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On the left is a leaf I saved from my big Killarney solo expedition this fall. I pressed it into my journal, dried it and later glued and sealed it onto a canvas.
In the middle is one of two pieces I purchased in Thunder Bay by local artist Marilyn Boyle. Featured is the Sleeping Giant - which I solo hiked this summer as well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On the right is the second piece I bought in Thunder Bay. It reminds me of the Algonquin park canoe camping trips I've taken in the past.....but mostly it was just pretty 😂

NEW for 2018... Heuchera ‘Wild Rose’!
This colourful perennial forms a dense habit of large, bright rosy purple leaves with prominent deep charcoal gray veining. In mid-summer, upright, dark burgundy stems hold rosy pink flowers. This beauty is noticed for its year-round colour. It attracts Butterflies & Hummingbirds into the garden.
It grows up to 25cm (10”) tall by 75cm (30”). Grow in containers or in the garden in partial to full shade.
Hardy in zones 4-9. #amsterdamgreenhouses
A shot from the meadows, Edinburgh, during the latter half of autumn.
