The first hot spring we ever went to was closed and had a rather dramatic sign on how you shouldn’t go swimming here because it had high levels of Amoeba present. Naturally, Emmi wanted to know everything about it and now she’ll happily explain to anyone who’s close enough how you can never put your head under water in a hot spring because tiny animals will eat your brain.
Sam however thinks it’s absolutely worth it if he could just get that one special rock off the bottom of the spring.
Thinking about the weekend... even though its barely Tuesday!
We still couple of these pink corduroy Charlie skirted bloomers left in the shop! #lepetitelle
My treasure hunter, finder, and keeper. Rocks are currently the favorite. We just need to figure out where to put them all. 🙃 🤔

This guy had a little heartbreak this week. He, like probably most kids out there, wants to be a #legocreator
. Only, he doesn’t want to grow up and be one, he wants to do it right now. He had worked really hard to build a set, create a backdrop, take pictures, and even type up a description of what he’d done. When I reread the submission guidelines to #legoideas
and discovered that entries were only considered for 13 yrs old and up, he was crushed. Not going to tell you how long he cried for, how long we talked for - trying to make him understand, how many times he’s brought it up since then. I realize there’s more going on in that head of his than I currently understand, and I’m trying to understand it at a faster rate, but this beautiful boy doesn’t see himself as a boy at all- and when he does, it often comes as a point of frustration. And as his mother, I wonder sometimes what I can do to help every part of him catch up to where the rest of him is... because truly, there’s not going to be any slowing him down.
You know it’s a good hike when you finish with a dirty face, a flower in your pocket, skinned knees, and the perfect walking stick 🗻
September 11th - 2.4m - Ute Park. When it gets hot, little girl needs a ride.
“Show me your scary face”
“Blessed are the curious for they shall have adventures”
🙊... a little sneak peek at some of the goodies in the shop Wednesday morning, 9am CST!
Some days you just have to tell everyone to get in the car and drive for an hour and have an afternoon of adventures that spills on into the evening! Making memories with my fabulous four - digging in the mud, catching frogs, seeing all kinds of wildflowers, and hours of imaginary play!
We're all fueled up for a big week!⛽ This Thursday, we begin our cross-country road trip, so we’re checking off the last to-do’s from our list and trying to contain our excitement for 3 more days!
Fun fact: we don’t actually own any credit cards, we only use @Interac
Debit. It allows us to pay for everyday purchases quickly, securely, and conveniently by simply holding our Interac Debit enabled mobile phone (aka really cool mobile wallet) in front of the reader at checkout. We’ll be using this bad boy at merchants all across Canada 🗺
I'm curious how you prefer to pay for your every day essentials? What seems to be your go-to? 💵
This place left me in awe. Everywhere we turned was picture worthy. I’ve never seen a place like this. I kept saying I felt like I was in a city that was once under water and that the hoodoos reminded me of coral reef. It’s also where we finished the @52hikechallenge
as a family, so it will always hold a place in my heart.

Thorufoss (Þórufoss) is a “hidden” waterfall – you might be the only people there when you visit. It’s tucked away so you don’t expect it when you park your vehicle…but within a few steps you’ll be glad you made the small detour off the Golden Circle route. For Game of Thrones fans, this is where Drogon surprises a goatherd in Season 4, episode 6. #icelandtravel #gotoiceland #icelandtravelling
Bringing some color to this dreary day 🍓🍑🍒 Seriously, rain, go away!
This is my rock collecting, roller skating, science loving, fort making, Spanish speaking, bug finding, bike riding, art painting, piano playing, mountain climbing, wild, wild boy. This smile is what makes me happy.

Hoonah, AK. The day started out pretty miserable. We had 2 mile walk across town in a driving rain to the lodge we rented a van from. Let's just say patience was tested, but once we dried off, we were in for some awesome surprises.
Actually being able to see Grizzly 10 feet from you is a pretty amazing experience. This young dude was going to town feeding without paying us any attention. He finally ran off when the actual beer seeing tour bus came around the bend.
As our exploration continued, we caught site of a mom and her cubs chilling on the edge of the tree line just doing what they do from afar. It's super fun watching curious cubs running away wrestling with each other.
We topped it off with the best halibut pizza EVER from the Icy Straight Lodge.
For many visitors it is not only the allure of the turquoise water that draws people to the seaside destination of Brighton, but the 82 vintage and unique bathing boxes that line the beach. The colourful huts were built over 100 years ago and were used so ladies could change into their swimwear in privacy. 💦
The iconic boxes have distinctive decorations and to keep them as part of the city’s past they don’t have running water or electricity. Sometimes the boxes come up for sale with one selling last year for a record $330,000!!! 💲
What would be the colour of the bathing box you would choose? •
