“Step with care and great tact, and remember that Life’s a great balancing act.” - Dr. Seuss // I find that everyday the same thoughts go through my head, centering around whether I’m doing this life right - whether I’m making the right choices. And honestly, I can’t help but be confronted daily, sometimes hourly (!!) with my own missteps; kids have a way of showing you your selfishness. But they, my husband and friends also help me to see that, through grace, I’m making some strides towards growth. Thankfully, there are times when I’m walking into my role as a mom, a business owner, a wife and a friend with my confidences set in the right place, with my eyes lifted up and my heart opened up to what is ahead. When I graduated from high school, my grandmother gave me her copy of “Oh the Places You’ll go”; we always read Dr. Seuss together when I was little and she always told me that the sky was the limit. Reading it last week with my kids, I was struck with that line to “step with care and great tact” - what a message as we parent, love, engage and build up one another. In the rush of life, it can be easy to be careless, and to lose our tact. But in this balancing act, we have the opportunity to keep putting one foot in front of the other. To be careful. Tactful. Thoughtful. Anyhow. I’m rambling now, but here is a little illustration for your Friday that I did for my friends @dior.
I’m on my way up for a fun day of illustrating with them in NY! ❤️❤️🗽
