We made a lamb shank that was precooked and flavored and just needed to be heated up in the oven...I was NOT a fan 😝😝😝. Well I just got to award this triber with an Apple Watch. She is a tribe member of the M2M. She won the most transformational story out of our July 16th round. Check out her story 👇🏻 “This is the first program I've maintained longer than 3 months. I've started and stopped so many times before. But the change is the accountability and the RESULTS. Its the feeling of size 12 pants zipping up and knowing they are just a few more weeks away from comfortable if I keep going. Its the size 16s that I got rid of completely- no looking back this time or saving them for "just in case". Its the size 18 pants that I do save for the shock factor every time I accidentally pull them out and remember how tight they were last winter. Its the glow on my face - the confidence in my stride and the extra help and attention I get at Home Depot or the market now ;) Ladies I feel good. I feel confident. I feel empowered and in control. Something "clicked" when I joined my second round and then the third...I knew I could do this. I knew I just had to keep going. And it just keeps getting better! I have lost 34lbs and countless inches (maybe April has my original measurements?) But rather than worry about the numbers, here is a real measurement- in 2013 I bought a Kenny Chesney concert T-shirt in a size medium because that's all they had left and I thought that's not too far off, one day soon I'll be back in a medium ... But life happened and fast forward to today (5 years and many 2XL shirts later)... I am finally able to wear it like its brand new. Those are things that make this program worth it. I did it in spite of sore muscles, in spite of being out of breath and not able to complete one move when I started, in spite of a soul-crushing job (that I just left last week!), major house renovations, a mega vacation to CA and AK. All on top of my 10 kids competing schedules- everything from therapy to sports, to new drivers with jobs. I got up with my sister at 3:50am for goodness sakes to make time when I couldnt otherwise find it and then painted my way into the night to keep things on track. Was it hard? -not nearly as hard as its been worth it.” - Candice

2 min intervals on the rower and some squats, push ups, burpees, curls in between. I lasted about 30 minutes total. Sometimes I eat dessert for “breakfast” at 4pm after my fasted workout. Keto Blackberry coffee cake (recipe by @joyfilledeats , I’ll try to link it in my profile) is SO good. AND I’ve had this thing in individual portions in my freezer for months. I just pull out a piece & heat it up when I want some. I like to have a couple options in there & Keto desserts have all kept well in the freezer so far. Go make you some 🙌😉 and save some for a rainy day (or any day you don’t want to cook) too!

But, I use eTRF on the weekends when my schedule is flexible and allows me to train in the morning. Whatever works, works! . . The longer, the better, when it comes to fasting. 16:8 is really the minimum fasting:eating ratio needed to reap the benefits. If you're comfortable with 16:8 try extending your fast to 18:6 or 20:4. I'm a little nuts and bounce between 20:4 and 22:2 on most days. #MegaMeals 😋 . . For most people, black coffee and unsweetened tea is fine and may even help reduce hunger during fasting periods. Similarity is I am still a runner. Difference achieved through intermittent fasting, keto way of eating, consistent weight training. Cardio is great, but you can still be insulin resistant as an active person. Instead of posting more of the same type of food photos as yesterday. I've been thinking a bit today about if I want to compete again in strongman. I've never been a top competitor, I do it for fun and to compete with myself. I have friends who say to switch over to crossfit. I'm not sure which way I want to go fully yet. I'm able to train both in my home gym so that's not a big issue. I guess just me putting my thoughts out there. Feel free to comment or suggest anything. I hope you have a great day.

Happy HIIT Tuesday 😁 . . I did three supersets this morning for this fasted hiit workout. . . Superset 1: •30 sec of ropes •30 sec of kettlebell swings Superset 2: •15 push-ups •30 Russian twists Superset 3: •30 sec rope pulls •15 weighted ab crunches . I finished off with 5 minutes of sprints at 10.0 mph for 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off. . . The best part about these fasted HIIT workouts is that you actually burn more calories throughout the rest of the day by setting a jumpstart to your metabolism. I’ve been slacking a little bit with my workouts so this was a nice change for a bit and only took 30 minutes out of my morning. 🔥T BAR ROWS🔥Love this exercise. It works the entire back, biceps & triceps as well as your core, the heavier (and slower) you go. I aim for progressive overload with each session (going slightly heavier or squeezing out one more rep each week). Today I went for 10, 8, 8, 6 reps starting on 20kg (plus the bar). Some Reverse grip lat pulls here.. I throw in reverse grips to hit the lower lats more with its slightly greater range of motion over the wide grip. Wide grip is still great for overall width development. I’m doing this right after regular overhand pull ups so it compliments the underhand variation. Naturally, I am using a bit of momentum to move the heavy weights but to compensate I take the weight down low and do strict pulls keeping as steady with slow release as possible. #shadefitness #fastedworkout

HOW TO GET BIGGER ARMS . . Firstly, do not neglect the triceps. They make up a larger portion of the arm than the biceps, and I’ve always found that they are easier to engage and grow. . . Secondly, stop and think - ‘what am I actually doing here?’ - am I engaging the biceps? or simply moving the weight from A to B? There are lads half my size who can curl more weight than me. They can curl it, but are they engaging the biceps? Recruiting other muscles and using the swinging momentum to get the weight from A to B is common. Technically, they can curl more weight than me, but apart from that arbitrary number, it means nothing. . . The 👏Weight 👏Does 👏Not👏 Matter . . The weight is a tool to grow the muscle, but it is HOW the weight is lifted that will always be more important than HOW MUCH weight is lifted. When performing any exercise, I think ‘what am I actually doing here? Can I feel the muscle i’m supposedly training?’ Mastering the mind-muscle connection is paramount - close your eyes, get inside the muscle and feel every contraction. . . As a young man, I was obsessed with the amount of weight I could curl and not phased at all by the fact that I looked like a lunatic swinging a 50kg barbell back and forth with appalling form. When I asked myself ‘what am I actually doing here?’, my whole arm game changed - I began to actually isolate the muscle and feel every contraction - no more swinging, no more cheating, just pure bicep engagement. My bicep curl went DOWN from 50 kg to 20 kg in just one night, and i’ve never looked back. . . This can spill over into everyday life too. After spending many years being fairly ‘distant’ - i’m trying to be more ‘present’ - asking myself ‘what am I actually doing here?’ has helped me. Out with friends? Then i’m there to enjoy myself and spread maximum joy to others. At work? I’m here to do the best job possible, regardless of the circumstances. Talking to a loved one? I’m here to communicate as clearly as I can, the moment is far too short to beat around the bush with those we love. . .
