You know that feeling when you're just strolling around trying to mind your own business, but you end up bumping into the friendliest stranger and you have an awesome convo that brightens your day? This was one of those moments, but read further to see who I met!
This electrician named Wayne Robinson greeted me during his lunch break as I walked up and down the sidewalk in a random affluent Pasadena neighborhood admiring the palm trees featured in the last photo and he asked me what I was up to. He asked me where I was from and we found out we shared similarities in our East Bay roots through Richmond and Oakland. But anyways, long story short, I come to find out that Jackie Robinson was his uncle. THE Jackie Robinson, trailblazer and icon in civil rights inside and outside of sports. So basically, I met Jackie Robinson's nephew while looking at palm trees, and it was quite the life-giving ten minutes getting to meet Wayne. If you ever see this Wayne, you are awesome and thanks for sharing your joy!
And if you made it all the way down here, thanks for spending two precious minutes of your day to read my post. 😁
