I usually don’t post pictures of me smiling, but when you have a photographer like @m.l.e.w.i.s
it’s almost impossible not to be constantly cheesing😁 #icxtones2
A conversation that I end up having quite a bit centers around the idea of why and what if. Those are both big questions but often irrelevant. Most of the time those questions are based in the fear of the unknown and fear of failure.
So what. So what if it doesn’t work the first time.
Try it a different way. Get input. Learn more about how to make it work. How does the saying go? If at first you don’t succeed... try, try again. .
When people ask what I can’t do, the answer is nothing. There’s nothing I can’t do. Because I can learn and I can try. I’ve done lots of amazing things because there aren’t limits.
I could write a list of highly successful people and their failure before their success but we know that. The challenge is the doing. The actual gut wrenching what if feeling of putting yourself out there knowing that it may or may not pan out. .
However the more you practice the art of succeeding (read trying again) the easier that gets. I for one have to resist the urge of not letting my work be seen until it’s perfect. There’s no such thing as perfect. There’s good and great and all kinds of awesome. But perfect doesn’t exist. I could derail my life waiting to get it exact. Or I can be vulnerable and share something that might make the world a better place now. And improve upon it or the next project next time. .
It’s all a growing process. Remember: Nothing worth having is easy. But it is worth it. And in case no one told you today you’re worth it. You’re worth the risk. It’s your life. It’s the only one you’ve got.

This week is #mentalhealthawarenessweek
And I’d like to share on how our Mental welbeing is related to #Feminism
I’m a Feminist. The feminism I believe in advocates for gender equality- not female superiority.
I’m a feminist because feminism not only helps women, it also helps men.
Over the years, suicide rate amongst men has been on the rise. Most men resorted to suicide due to stress regarding the mistaken need to appear strong, and it would be “unmanly” to seek help in times of distress. This is very detrimental to one’s mental health.
Everyone benefit from expressing their feelings and seeking comfort and connection, in spite of gender differences, that’s what makes us human. I’m not a feminist because it’s trendy, or because it makes me seem progressive. I'm a feminist because I have a role to play in this global movement.
All these holds true to the fairer sex too. Women has had an impactful presence in our society. My artwork above is to portray the Fearless Maiden. Who says females always have to be damsels in distress, right?
Therefore, we can all start by taking a look at mental health through a feminist lens and challenging ourselves to do better.
Maybe if my heart stops beating it won’t hurt this much
Florentina. ••• I wasn't happy with my feed and editing style because it was all over the place. That's why I took a break. I know, first world problems. But I somewhat got a plan now. Do you post spontaneous or do you plan everything?

War die coolste mit diesem Haarschnitt 👅
something I’ve not only learned over the past year or so of doing photography but also grown used to is embracing every part of the frame. There’s a line of garbage cans and recycling bins on the right side of this picture. Probably a few months after I’d just started photography, when I actually gained the skill to be able to do it, I would’ve somehow gotten rid of them or made them a little less prominent. But now I use them to emphasize how real and genuine I want each picture I take to be. I want them to be raw- almost exactly, if not precisely, how I see them outside the viewfinder. Something about leaving little things like that in that most people would take out is so interesting to me. I don’t edit sunset skies or blazing backlight into my photos not only because I don’t know how😄but because I choose not to (although it does look beautiful, don’t get me wrong). I want my photos to be hyper realistic- just in a different way. This is where Iman and I are from, untouched. // model: @imankasabian
