Why I practice Yin Yoga:
My normal body pain hovers around a 3-4 out of 10 on my good days, and most of this is in my joints. My knuckles swell, my wrists, ankles, toes, and jaw “snap” in and out of joint all day long, and my knees crunch when I bend them.
I have made a commitment not to let my body stop me from living my life! I’m grateful for my mobility and the ability to practice on the mat and in the air, even when I’m in pain. But with the gift of a body with particular quirks comes the responsibility to give it more love and attention.
Yin Yoga is a style of yoga focused on joints and connective tissue. By holding long, gentle postures I can safely stress and strengthen my joints without injuring them. The stronger my joints are, the lower my pain level, and the more I can do in my day-to-day.
Even better, on a bad day, when my pain hits 8-9 (like after a gluten poisoning 🤢) my body can still tolerate this easy and slow practice.
Why do you practice Yin Yoga? 🙋🏼♀️
The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried.
― Stephen McCranie
Failure, as much as it hurts, is an important part of life. Failure is necessary. Without failure, we would be less capable of compassion, empathy, kindness, and great achievement; We would be less likely to reach for the moon and the stars.
True success is founded on failure, and even the most successful people in the world have failed more times than the rest of us. In fact, failure is the surest pathway to success, but also to humility. People who fail are more humble, plain and simple. They’ve tasted the sweet victories of success, but have also suffered the pains of failure.
Failure is life’s great teacher. It shatters the ego and allows us to become more humble. It’s chips away at all the excess and helps to shine a transparent light on who we really are.

Making space for our heart opening practice tonight 💌 plugging into our basic right to love and be loved ❤️ I've been on such a journey with this one, first I had to work on allowing the love in and feeling worthy of that love (cue long history of attracting situations thay re affirmed my 'un-lovable' misbeliefs) Then a whole new journey of learning to fully open my heart (ultimately letting go of my fear of being hurt)
Yoga has helped me so much on this journey, being the friend that has helped me to care for myself, that has taught me to be of love with devotion and compassion. ❤️ what amazes me the most is we can always be... of love.. live in it, breathe it and feel it MORE 💫 that's our focus for tonight 🙏🏼 .
Lo yoga è per tutti! Che cosa aspetti? ✨✨✨
L'unico corso di Vinyasa Yoga a Terni: Ogni sabato alle 11 a 'il centro'! See you om the mat! 😉
This will be my first workshop back from maternity leave. Please sign up in advance. Hope to see you there:)
Many of us tend to hold tension and stress in the shoulders and neck, and many poses in Vinyasa yoga, such as downward facing dog and chaturanga, can put pressure on the shoulders and neck if done incorrectly. In this workshop, we will focus on the anatomy and natural movement of the shoulder joint and work to release tension in the neck, shoulders, and chest. We will create space and mobility through a shoulder opening flow, stretches, and fascia release by using the foam roller around the shoulder and chest area.
Yoga and celery juice to start my morning. ❤️
Day Three // Warrior

Many people are naturally flexible. I'm not one of them.. I've had to work on my body everyday to get to where I have - even though I'm naturally athletic - flexibility was not my forte. Thankfully , yoga is not just about flexibility :) - that would make yoga no different from gymnastics or acrobatics. And all acrobats and gymnasts would be yogis :) .
But yoga is much more - it is a state of mind , a way of being , an attitude to life - and it reflects in the an attitude you hold while striving to achieve the asana. Asana practice is very close to real life. In a forward bend , the more you let go and relax, the easier it is to bring your head to your knees. In balancing , the calmer your mind , the easier to balance. Asanas reflect reflect life - and there is a lot to learn if you do asanas with awareness .
Don't force it , work with your body. We have physical boundaries - many of which are connected to our mental boundaries or emotional blocks. Play at the boundaries, the edges and keep exploring till you can expand your boundaries.
Most important however , is Abhyasa and Vairagya. Abhyasa- is consistent unwavering practice . Vairagya - is detachment . Being at peace knowing that when you put in the effort the the results will HAVE to come. That is the law of the universe. So therefore detach from impatience, desires , goals - knowing that all you need to do , is consistently work -because the results will come no matter what. That is the law of the universe. Be at peace, #beamazing
abhyāsa-vairāgya-ābhyāṁ tan-nirodhaḥ ॥12॥
Abhyasa/Practice: Abhyasa means having an attitude of persistent effort to attain and maintain a state of stable tranquility.
Vairagya/Non-attachment: The essential companion is non-attachment , learning to let go of the many attachments, aversions, fears, and false identities that are clouding the true Self.

Bronwyn has to announce all bathroom breaks, even at 3:45 am, so after today’s early morning announcement I sat in bed awake for two hours before finally just getting up for yoga. 😩 Totally wasn’t mentally prepared for the intensity this morning’s yoga sesh brought, but it was good to get energized and nice and warm so I could stretch it out afterwards. My legs have been weak AF since our fair adventures. I didn’t properly prepare for it with stretching like I would prefer. Thankfully I already had a bodywork appointment schedule for tomorrow. 👏🏻😁 I’m sure I’ll be crashing this afternoon, but I’m still glad I made productive use of my awake time when I definitely wasn’t going to fall back to sleep. 🤷🏻♀️ #CrystalDoesFitness
-Helps you to move more freely, with less effort, by counteracting gravity. -Suspension in the air releases tension on the bones and muscles, increasing flexibility and deepening your practice. -Strengthens core muscles and increases spinal and shoulder flexibility. -Clears the mind and relieves stress due to its meditative state.
-Improves the circulation of blood, thus combating aging and its symptoms. -Helps detoxify the circulatory and lymphatic systems, which lowers the onset of various cardiovascular issues.
-Fortifies your neural connections, thereby, rendering better memory power. -Releases “happy” hormones like serotonin, endorphins, oxytocin, dopamine, which boost your mood and help you feel more energetic.
-Makes you HIGH! 🤩

Soul Sisters. A Definition.
Two or more females who click on every level imaginable; who can talk about EVERYTHING from gorgeous foreign boys (or lack there of) to existentialism. Who reminisce, learn, dance, sing, complain, celebrate, play & dream together. Who will forever believe that they were born together & somehow separated at birth only to be brought together by fate at a later date in their lives. Where small talk doesn't exist & it's all about BIG talk. Soulsisters are forever yin and yang. From the very first breath to the very last.
When I first met Anna, I knew we were destined to be best friends. There was something truly amazing about her. (Which I know everyone feels when they meet her, but she was so very special for me.) We became inseparable. We traveled together, laughed and cried, danced like no one was watching, we built a business together, we were one. Until we weren’t.
Our lives took us in separate directions. Hers took her all across the world… to give back to poverty-stricken children in Central America, to France for love, to India to find herself & learn her practice, to Thailand to teach & spread her passion to others, and then to England to start a family with her soulmate. My journey focused on building a business, a family and a (new) life in Santa Barbara. We still often talked, but lost that incredible connection. I felt lost and lonely, for many reasons, but not having her strong presence in my life was a very big one.
I’d like to say it was the fact that she became a wife & a mother that brought us back together, that we finally had something in common again to connect about. But that wasn’t it. She was there, waiting the whole time for me. What needed to happen was for me to wake up. To wake up and realize the true purpose of life. To realize that there is so much more than the ’here and now;’ that the universe is guiding us along a path always… a path to find our true best selves. And once I realized that and started my journey to finding myself, we reconnected. Our connection this time is so much more magical than it was before. Beyond grateful for my #soulsister
