I hereby declare to live a life ~ not of suffocated, stagnated silence ~ but of the decadent roars of my ever-rooting soul.
I will live boldly. Hell, I will need every drop of boldness I can muster to face all those gnarly inner barriers and cut away all I no longer need with the precise focus of a seasoned warrioress with a lustrous, careful blade.
I will draw boundaries clearly and lovingly, within myself and with others.
I will love freely and generously, but I will never forget the truth of who I am. For that truth sizzles, it is now burned in me, in the depths of my muscles and sinew and bones.
I will not back down from my passion, my joy, my needs, my laughter, my dancing, my freedom, the farthest reaches of my rawest, wildest expression.
I will gently challenge fear, doubt, denial, and numbness daily.
I will know that I deserve respect, care, love, and the deepest compassion.
I will remember that I am not here just to be liked; people-pleasing is my past, pleasure is my future. Solidity and steadfastness is what my being longs for.
And I will, I will--bang the drums of my heart daily, knowing that I'm strong enough to be soft and feel.
I hereby declare to live in the flames, the sweet holy waters, the fleshy goodness, the gusty breeze of the big life that is meant for me.
I will not settle for anything less.
It's just not an option anymore.
And being real
And standing in truth only
And taking up space
And taking the space to care for all that I am, for all I'm becoming--
Now that's the deep nourishment my soul is reaching for.
This is how I wish to live.~ ~Sarah Harvey
If only painting for me always looked like this. In reality though - before I concept a piece - it’s a lot of staring at the daunting blank canvas (or paper, or my computer screen), and unleashing of tears unshed in between bouts of frustration and artist blocks, and walking on sharp edges full of #SelfDoubt
. But when I do shift from those sharp edges into a soft landing, something beautiful emerges and makes it all worth it in the end. #noeasyroads #studiomoments #enso #ensō
