There is nothing that gets me more excited than seeing a woman owning who she is and sharing that openly with the world! But in order to do that we need to feel confident with our image. Not just the outer image but how we see ourselves.
So...I have a challenge for you today: ✨Start your day by saying kind things to yourself in the mirror ✨Ditch all the clothes that don’t make you feel beautiful or anything that doesn’t represent the woman you want to become.
✨Wear heels to pick up kids or to the grocery store- because why not? 😉
✨Wear more color - even if it is a bright💄 ✨Wear more often things that make you feel sexy- even if it is lingerie
✨Update your hairstyle or get your hair done more often. ✨Smile more - even at strangers ✨Care less about what others think of you
Life is too short to not be having fun with how you look and who you are

I HAVE to get outside.
It's become such a habit that I'm outside at least a couple hours throughout the day.
It's time that I need away from the screen to refresh my thoughts, catch up on podcasts, walk the pup of course, and mentally restart for the next set of tasks.
I actually get my best ideas while walking outside too. It's time that i invest in myself for my own mental clarity. It's kind of my own daily strategy session.
What's a habit that you HAVE to do daily?
Why am I a Shiner? "I'm a Shiner to feel supported, and to support. For connection, community and honest, no-small-talk conversation. To learn, grow and evolve not only as a woman in business but as a person." Emma McMillan @emmamcmillancopy
There's only 10 days left of SeptMember and then all new She Will Shine Memberships will close. If you're sitting on the Shiner fence you better get that glitter ready cause it's your time to Shine! The link to Shiner-town is in our bio ⭐️ #BetterTogether

Sir, we are going to need to ask you to leave.
I recently was watching an Instagram story about promoting yourself and your services and it suddenly hit me - I haven't done that one in a while! And definitely not well... 🤦
Ye olde self doubt creeps in and I feel like I am bragging and shoving promo down peoples throats when I try and write captions about my services. But today is Friday and on Fridays we can do anything because the promise of wine is only hours away 🍷
Instead of telling you what I can do, let me tell you what I have done this week ✏️
- 3x personalised Social Media 101 guides for very VERY varied industries
- 3x web build wire frames for an eCommerce platform, a law firm and an inspirational non-profit organisation
- 2x social media audits
- 1x branding guidelines and logo finals
- 1x website audit for a flourishing bricks and mortar + eCommerce business
- 1x call with the @go_postie
team about how I can utilise their app for email marketing
It's been busy as heck but I LOVE IT. I offer all these services and more, and I have plenty of happy clients that keep me smiling at my screen all day long. #bragbragbrag
💁 The rest of the year is booking up pretty flipping quickly, so if you want some Yiota love in your digital life, just say hey!

What does that mean?
Most of us are pretty clear on the idea that we are responsible for our own words, and that what we say, we own.
Words can be powerful. For those who let them, a word of encouragement or support can make a huge difference in their lives. The same can be said of a person who says an unkind word.
But what of a person who chooses silence instead of encouragement, or silence instead of constructive criticism?
There are plenty of truly evil things happening in our world.
But we turn a blind eye, and do not speak.
And in our silence, others suffer.
Will our speaking end all suffering?
No, of course not. But we can, through acting, help alleviate some suffering.💜
I am on a mission to teach underrepresented groups how to use tech to create wealth for themselves, their families, and their communities. I have lived and worked in Silicon Valley for the past seven, going on eight years. I have built a tech company, I have raised venture capital, I have worked at a venture capital firm, and I have trained hundreds of founders around the 🌎 on how to secure the 💰. I have seen first hand what happens when you are “on the inside” and know how to play the game. This knowledge can literally change your life...and the future world we live in. / / / Now I’m going around the county, sharing what I know so that others can start learning the startup playbook and get some coins for themselves. / / / Currently, I’m in Indianapolis, gearing up to give the keynote 🎤 at the #DisruptIndy
conference tomorrow (I hit the stage at 1pm; come through if you’re around), and I can’t be more excited to open people’s eyes to a new perspective that can shift their life forever. / / / Thank you to @google
for hosting a great welcome mixer tonight, and thank you @kellinikole
for your hard work and leadership to create this space for your community. YOU are the future. / / / If anyone out there wants to bring this learning opportunity jam-packed with startup 💎💎💎 to your community, email me 👉🏽 firstname.lastname@example.org #WeAllGoUpTogether

Have you ever felt like you weren’t good enough, the expert, or the right person for the job? 😬
That any second someone was going to come up to you and tell you they’ve made a mistake and you don’t deserve to be here?
That feeling is Imposter Syndrome.☝🏼
It’s the feeling that you’re not good enough and you’re not sure you deserve to have a seat at the table.
Let me tell you a secret EVERYONE, I mean everyone suffers from imposter syndrome. 99% of the women I’ve interviewed for Stilobox have said they absolutely felt imposter syndrome at one point in their lives if not on a day to day basis.
When I'm feeling imposter syndrome I acknowledge it and do the thing anyways. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How do you deal with imposter syndrome? 🤔
recently featured me in their blog where I dive a bit deeper on my thoughts around imposter syndrome - check out the link in my bio! Shoutout to @ohcassie
for writing the post!
Also this must be my favorite jacket! 😂#rosegoldforthewin

Friends, do NOT give up on your dreams ✨
Next Thursday 27th September is a MASSIVE personal milestone.
It'll be ONE YEAR since I sat as a very-excited-and-nervous new mindfulness facilitator with 8 people keen to learn an introductory mindfulness course at @devacademynz
Enspiral Dev Academy with my friend Peter @throughtheloop.nz.
... 1 year since I took action on my dream of turning Jen Y Insights from a blog into a for-purpose business.
... 1 year since I started on this journey of coaching #gamechanging
humans, teaching #mindfulness
and looking after teams' mental & emotional wellbeing.
1 month after that 1 year anniversary I'm speaking at 'Women Supporting Women' (first 125 tickets free to commemorate #suffrage125
) organised by my amazing friend @stuartjess
Jess Stuart. Tickets available via Facebook event page 😍
Friends: please do not give up on your dreams! I'm in your corner. It's amazing what happens when you have an idea, figure out steps to make it happen and TAKE ACTION. It's amazing what can happen in 1 year!
Have a dream? Want to make it happen but unsure how? Let's chat about what a #coaching
relationship or workplace wellness check-in could look like. I'm in your corner cheering you on :) MASSIVE gratitude to all my amazing friends, colleagues and clients for their support!

Fun Fact Friday: The Shan ‘n Dan Edition ❤️ If you’re new around here, I’m Shanny 👋🏼 a 34-year old copywriter and casual alcoholic who possibly has Tourette’s. I like to share random shit on Fridays.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Dan and I met on Tinder on December 11th 2013. It was a big week for me: I graduated with my Bachelors of Education 👩🏻🎓; scored my first teaching contract for the following year 👩🏻🏫; and met the (unexpected) dude who would sweep me off my little Havaiana’d feet 😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Our first date was a scuba diving lesson 🐠 I was writing an article on interesting first dates and figured he’d be good material 🤷🏻♀️ I didn’t think I’d fall in love with the guy. He even took a photo of us in the pool so we could have a pic from our first date, just in case we ended up as a couple (swipe left) 😉 Dan had also Googled me and read a blog post I’d written a few weeks previously called, ‘8 Simple Rules For Dating Me.’ He was stoked because, in his words, “I found a girl who came with an instruction manual, so I couldn’t f*ck it up!” 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. We had only been together a year when Dan came home from work one day and told me he had been offered a job running a dive shop on a small island in the South Pacific 🏝 I told him I didn’t do long distance relationships 🙅🏻♀️ A couple of months later, we sold everything we owned and moved to Niue for 2 years. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Dan is one of the funniest f*ckers I’ve ever met. He is a total smartass who has a thing for writing funny memes and possesses an encyclopaedic collection of Bad Dad Jokes 🤦🏻♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Some of our best times have been just the two of us diving together, gliding along side by side, taking out our regs to blow kisses or stick out our tongues (our secret code for ‘I love you’) 😋⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
BONUS: You can probably guess why our son is called ‘Reef’ 🐚 It was only fitting that our surprise little diver should be named after the place we fell in love 💏
Snap: The always awesome @electric_confetti

WOO! My branding is pretty much done, with the exception of a few tweaks that will surely happen! So I made a lil digital collage that showcases the main elements of my brand which happen to be some of my favourite things: turquoise, pink, words, paint splashes, doodles, hearts, cats, coffee, sunnies, and washi tape! I'll probably be chucking in some gold stars here and there too cuz they are always rad 🤩⭐️
PS: I'm kinda in love if I can say so myself 😍 .

There will be some changes around here. But don’t fret! It’ll be for the best 😘 (this is me at the conference hosted by @screwtheninetofive
1. Am I a redhead?
2. Does this outfit make me look like I workout?
3. Will I see you at Bandier next Thursday for our party?
~ We forget who we are and what we’re capable 👀 of~
We are capable of tapping into it all in each and every moment. Whatever it is that you desire, take a moment and consider, are you giving it to yourself first?
Whether you like to hear it or not, it all always comes back to you. .
You’re never a victim 🙅♀️ but always the star of your own life
In control of your entire experience, how you feel, how you show up, how you shine or, well, don’t shine
It’s up to you
💁♀️ But, you can only receive and give what you give to yourself first
This shift is everything, pure magic. And results are immediate
If you desire to feel abundant 🙏 are you treating yourself with abundance? Do you know that abundance is your natural state? Does your heart beat with abundance?
I don’t know her but she looked lovely with the art.
You are in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing. Take a deep breath and remember how far you’ve come ❤️ #Womaze
“How did you grow your following? I need to reach more people.”
This is one of the first questions I get asked by my academy students.
That’s how you get more clients right?
There are PLENTY of influencers with a high following that struggle to convert followers to clients.
So what does that mean? There’s a process that successful coaches follow.
A few years ago I realized I only needed 20 clients to make a full time income. 20. That’s it. More than 20, would be great but 20 would get me out of my job and free up my time to have a greater impact on more people.
Well the first week I launched my coaching program I had 15 clients in a week. See ya, corporate life.
At the time I had about 3000 followers on Instagram. I wasn’t running a single ad.
Here are a few things successful coaches do
1. Decide SPECIFICALLY who you want to work with and what they’ll pay to work with you. Write down what sort of job they have, how old are they, what struggles are they facing, what are their goals.
2. Think about what sort of events they go to, what Facebook groups they’re in, other influencers they follow on IG etc
3. “Go” to these places. Comment on their posts and ask them questions. Reply to their comments when they comment on other influencers pages. Show up to these events and start conversations.
4. BUILD RAPPORT. Show genuine interest in their life. Ask them what their goals are. Listen to UNDERSTAND, rather than listening to respond (THIS is a huge one). So many people want to word vomit that they’re a coach and can help them, without ever truly listening to that person as an individual.
5. Share your own personal transformation story and why you do what you do. If you’ve done number 4 right, they’re likely asking to work with you at this point. It’s sad but it is actually RARE for people to feel like someone is actually listening to them. I know, personally, when I feel “heard” I want more of that person in my life. Remember, “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

“The Edge...There is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over. The others-the living-are those who pushed their control as far as they felt they could handle it, and then pulled back, or slowed down, or did whatever they had to when it came time to choose between Now and Later. But the edge is still Out there.” - Hunter S. Thompson
Where's your edge? How can you stretch even further towards it today?

This is not a burrito. .
Which is what I really wanted for lunch today. .
But I forced myself to put some effort into making a healthy lunch instead of opting to spend money on buying lunch. .
I’m glad that I did. .
Fueling myself with healthy options keeps my stress level manageable and my candida issues also manageable. .
P.S. I added a bunch of protein and dressing as well to make it tasty. #nomnom #startup #womeninbusiness #femalefounders #startuplife #socialentrepreneur
At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or about what you accomplished. It’s about who you’ve lifted up, who’ve you made better, it’s about what you’ve given back. Thank you @orgullosaclothing
