But before I share more images from that wonderful day, I wanted to share images from their rehearsal dinner. I promise you're in for a good time, and the link to the images are in my profile. ❤️ Lab: @photovisionprints
Headed to one of my favorite places today. 👆🏻 Only two more weddings of 2018! What a year it’s been. So grateful for all the support I’ve received this year and all the wonderful couples I’ve had the pleasure of becoming friends with.
I don't use film because it's the cool thing to do or because I think I'll get "published" more. I don't shoot a handful of rolls at a wedding just to say I'm "a film shooter" to be part of a certain crowd and to make a blog post. I use it because it's superior for what I do, and I use it for all my work, not just a small portion. It takes practice to be good at photography and mindfulness to be good at it with film. Digital tools have their place and I use them for certain things, but I also think they can be a cop out for doing the actual work it takes to be good at photography. I used to use them as a crutch until I realized they were holding me back. So when I say "I'm a film photographer", I really and truly am, but not because I think it's cool to say, but because I believe in giving my clients the best work I can. It's always been about the clients for me, which is why I've never cared about entering contests or trying to be on "best" lists. Those things are nice and certainly make anyone feel good, but I don't want it to be about that, because that isn't what gives me purpose. As I close out 10 years of this job, I'm so glad I made those decisions along the way!
At first I thought maybe he lost his hat but then looking at the next frame I realized it was the birds, they started swarming! Lol #film #agfavista400
You know I find you beautiful, and I like you for that.
But now I gotta focus to find the balance in universal love. That is love for self, other people in general and the planet. So rather than chasing you, a particular one, I should rather learn how to give love unconditionally in a way that doesn't burden me and doesn't make me demand for a requisition.
Everything's gonna be ok, though, just as the moment. I'm gonna be ok because I'm on the right track in the journey. And us too.

Nature doing its magic on the beam of a sailboat.. I hope they never repaint it.
I posted a holiday photo challenge (aimed at non-photographers) that will level up your iPhone holiday picture game ➡️link in bio 🎞

If you live in VA and like seafood you gotta come to this place. They literally bring the oysters out of the fishing boats straight to the kitchen.. and this is the view!
Can I live in this palette please?
Did you know that the current trends of big garden style bouquets aren't new at all? In the 20's and 30's they had bouquets from actual gardens that covered the majority of the person holding it.
This bouquet I made largely of the beautiful dogwood branches in my yard. My best bouquets are always the most fragile ones from nature. They'd never last on a real wedding day, but they're fun to take photos of
A recent foggy morning. Camera in tow. Pencil line shadows. Trees on film. Memory echoes.
So many beautiful things happening. I love this time of year. The feeling of looking back over goals, aspirations, and crossing them off. The hopeful feeling of creating new goals that seem unattainable and then watching God exceed all expectation. I love it. Here’s to finishing the remainder of this year strong and a fresh clean start to a new chapter in just a couple short weeks! 🕊 @photovisionprints #dreambig #alwaysdreaming
One frame for everybody I know.
September 2018 (Minolta XD7+ Fuji NPH 400-expired June 2002)
Most pictures of me are of me taking pictures. This particularly exciting picture is in a church in Germany and I'm wearing a ridiculous amount of clothes because winter is cold in Germany. If you swipe left, you'll see what I was taking a picture of. I'd post just that photo because it's obviously superior, but it won't get as many likes, and a girl has to care about the completely illogical and biased Instagram algorithm, so here i am looking ever so fabulous in a hat and snow boots. Because Instagram algorithm.
Big congrats to Film Supply Club member @mollinerphotography
for nominations in 2 categories for the @bellelumieremagazine
end of the year contest: Emerging film photographer of the year and best color image.
One of our very own is now a wife! Kristen is one of our associate photographers AND one of our brides! Kristen and John were such a dream couple to work with. They were completely focused on each other and their loved ones on this perfect day. After a tearful letter reading and first look - these two absolutely killed it for couples portraits! ✨

If you shoot film or are interested in shooting film, you should know that this is Fuji 400h AT BOX SPEED 😵 This entire shoot, inside and out, was Fuji at box speed. The "film is light hungry and must be overexposed" thing is a myth. Start at box speed, do exposure bracketing tests and ask for straight scans, and go back to the basics of photography. Facebook photography groups are not your friend because they are full of the blind leading the blind. The best way to learn film is to experiment and most importantly learn principles of film and photography apart from you peers. Understanding proper exposure is a must, and will help you with digital work as well. There's my rant for the day 😌
