Quick and easy weeknight meal: sauté peeled and de-veined frozen shrimp in your favorite sauce (peach bbq sauce for me!) and for a quick side ——> baked broccoli with evoo & sea salt. 💥🍤🥦
If the answer to this question is no, you are leaving free money on the table. ⠀⠀
At most companies, your employer only contributes to your 401(K) if you contribute. The typical match is 50% of each $1 you contribute up to 6%. Some company match dollar for dollar up to a certain percent. Either way contributing enough to max out this benefit is MUST.
The keywords here are MATCH and UP TO. ⠀⠀
Let’s just say you make $50,000 and you employer offers the typical match. If you contribute 6% or $3,000 you employer will contribute $1,500 for a total of $4,500 for the year. ⠀⠀
If you contribute only 3% or 1,500 you employer only contributes $750 for a total of $2,250 for the year. Which means you left $750 of FREE MONEY on the table.
If you contribute nothing, then you leave $1,500 of FREE MONEY on the table. I don’t know about you but I cant afford to not get as much as I can of this FREE MONEY.
Did I mention that we are talking about 🗣🗣🗣FREE MONEY 💰 💴 💵! ⠀⠀
Bottom line: Contribute to your 401(k) at least up to the employer match or more if you can. Start now!
Are you contributing? If so, at what percent? If you are not contributing up to the employer match, what are you planning to change in order to begin doing so? Drop your answers below!!!

I decided to jump on the Celery Juice Train after reading into it and deciding it would be a huge benefit for me and my family. I absolutely hate celery and unfortunately that held me back for some time.
My sweet little girl has a skin condition and almost everything gives her a rash. It hurts this Mama's heart. After reading into it... Celery juice can clear up skin issues and keep your skin healthy!
Day 1: I woke up with a terrible sore throat. Honestly I had to choke the celery juice down, but my sore throat was gone! Totally worth it. Also the little one loved it!! I was pleasantly shocked.
I'll keep y'all updated on how this goes. Thank you @medicalmedium

Decided to get a head start on this week as I’m just coming off a four nightshift stretch and felt like I needed a good solid workout to finish my week off! May change my rest day to Tuesday 🤔. Loving on my team for keeping me accountable to my goals 💕 #teamselfloveandhighstandards
I wanted sweets so badly today, but instead of real cake, I made a mug cake out of my superfoods! Fun to mix it up every now and then! #findingthebalance #rva #sweetslover
One year ago today!
I accomplished one of the biggest events in my health and fitness journey.
My first half marathon! 🏃🏼♀️
I remember the soreness (for days 😂), the struggle, the excitement of finishing, and the accomplishment of being able to say I completed it!
There will be another one in my future.
Until then, continuing to build my best body to shave some minutes, and soreness, off my next race!
Medicated remission is the stage I am in. I must take these 3 pills everyday so that my immune system doesn’t attack my liver. Some days I have hated these pills for making me fat, my skin sore and covered in pimples, making me have mood swings and just feeling like shit. But I also know I have to take these as part of finding the best balance in my life.
I think we all imagine our retirement years this way. Walking on the beach without a care in the world, reaping the rewards of all those years of hard work. ⠀
Sadly, many people don’t get here. Instead they have to worry about making ends meet.
So how do you get to your ideal retirement? How do you ensure that your future self will be thanking you?
Short answer: Make retirement planning a priority.
Retirement planning is the process of determining retirement income goals and the actions and decisions necessary to achieve these goals. It includes identifying sources of income, estimating expenses, implementing a savings program and managing assets.
So what will it be? A glorious retirement or constant worry about out living you retirement funds? The time to decide is NOW!

9 months ago, I was doing the same program I started this week.
9 months ago doing this workout, there’s no way I could hold this position for more than a second!
I made a choice to commit to a healthier life and what a path it has been.
Onward and upward from here!
W R I T E A B O U T S O M E O N E I L O V E.... Well that's easy... I'll tell you about #thisguy
Actually, I'll tell you what a lovely mum-friend told me about him yesterday....We got chatting as I was out n about test driving our 'new' double buggy (pre-loved bargain!) She told me how in awe she was of this guy: my guy AKA Captain Daddy @Brdk
🤗; how she often sees him out n' about with both our kids, babywearing one, chasing after the other on his bike or scooter; how she'd seen him set up a picnic in the park and how fun it looked; that she often sees him at the childrens' centre, usually the only daddy there, or at the park... He's amazing, she said. He is, I said. 🤗
Some people refer to him as a 'hands-on dad'. He baulks at this label. To him, he's just a dad. To me and the kids (it still sounds so weird when I say that...) he is our world and we'd be lost without him.
He's truly fucking awesome.
People ask how I manage the babies and my business. The answer is: because of this guy. Who holds the fort whilst I dash off to collect a placenta? This guy. Who organises the most epic adventures with the small people whilst I'm busy supporting local mums? This guy. Who cooks the kids' (I've said it again...) tea and puts them to bed whilst I put on my srubs and set to work in the #placentakitchen
? This guy. Who sorted out the laundry and packed for our holiday AND entertained the kids (is that the 3rd time?!) whilst I taught a hypnobirthing class the day before we went away? This guy!!! He is an absolute freakin' legend.
He works too, by the way, just in case you were wondering.... I love him for all these reasons and then some. He's also pretty hot ;-) #teamworkmakesthedreamwork

This is love! 😂
Tonight we talked about the future and having kids.
Slow your roll! I said future!! Not right now.
But in regards to having kids we were talking about how important it is to take care of our health for when that time comes.
More and more often I hear about women struggling with getting pregnant, I want to make sure I’m doing everything possible to help that process along when the time comes!
Not to mention learning from my community of ladies about having a healthy pregnancy and keep our families healthy and happy!
It’s so important to take care of our body. When we take care of ourselves, everything else tends to fall into place. 💕
7 months ago, I said yes to an opportunity that I was presented with, without having a clue about what was to come. .
I said yes to helping people get healthier. I said yes to getting out of my comfort zone. I said yes to meeting new people. I said yes to changing lives. .
I feel like I’m making a difference and living the life I never knew I wanted or needed. And I’m so thankful I took the chance. Plus, my cat looks up to me...so there’s that 😉 #helpingothers #rva #findingthebalance #marylandgirl #crazycatlady #catlover #richmondva
Ah today... ...so far today has not been the most amazing day BUT as I said to @change_for_the_long_run
the sun is shining so that’s a pretty brilliant start.
Full body was incredible! I loved it. The three circuits I did were exactly what I needed today. The combos were awesome. The length of each circuit was perfect. It was super sweaty. Just incredible. Sometimes workouts just seem to have been written for you and today’s felt like that for me.
I’ve got some new books coming today to help me find my balance, to help give my nutrition the kick up the butt it needs and to help bring about some changes for the better, so wish me luck.
But, for now, I’m going to park my booty right here, snuggle my overtired and grouch little hulk, and enjoy some time just sitting and being.
I hope you all loved full body! Did you have a fav circuit?

Practice balance. You will never want to look for any other lifestyle 🙌🏼
This speaks volumes to me!
It’s taken me all my years to get where I am today. Mind, body, and soul. It took hard work and daily growth to get where you are genuinely happy!
As another year of my life is about to come to a close, goodbye 30!, another door opens to another year of greatness and love!
I may not be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s ok! I’m still working to be the best me that I can. Peeling back layers to show everyone who I truly am!
Are you being the true you or trying to live up to someone else’s standards?
Be true to you! You deserve it!
It’s all about balance right?! I DON’T believe in starvation. I DON’T believe in cutting out certain food groups. And I definitely DO believe in mimosas...and ice cream for that matter 😋. .
In the past, I’ve tried cleanses and diets that were not sustainable, and I gave up after a while. Not today. Not with the meal plan I follow. I’m not perfect, but I’m learning, and I can teach you! #helpingothers #rva #marylandgirl #veggielover #icecreamlover #findingthebalance
Oh man! This innocent little face is not representative of the crazy day we have had!
Don’t get me wrong, there have been some absolutely brilliant moments, her favourite song at the moment is ‘Row The Boat’ and she has been singing it pretty much all day, which is so cute! And she’s been chatty and funny, but there have also been more tantrums than I can even count, more ‘no mummy’ moments (when did she even learn this?!) than I want to count and her clinging to me for most of the day! When we’ve been sat on the sofa, she’s been sat on top of me and when I’ve been up and about, she’s been hanging onto my leg, and I am totally exhausted!
These all resemble separation anxiety traits, which she hasn’t really had since about 9/10 months old, but it would make sense given all the changes that have occurred over the last month.
I definitely think me going back to work has had more of an effect on her than I thought it would. But I have also been in more days than I would normally on my part time hours, due to training days. Now the kids are properly back to school and settled, I should be home more again and hopefully she’ll start to get used to this new routine, until I go full time teaching around October/November and we go through all this again! 🙈
But no matter the day we’ve had, I’ve really missed Willow this week. I’ve been leaving for work at around 8 and not getting home until gone 5, and it’s been tough to miss out on so much of her day. She’s had an absolute blast with @astoryfromdad
Who took the week off to make the transition for Willow and I easier, and to also get some much needed and much deserved daddy/daughter time.
So when she finally (for all of 10 minutes) fell asleep on me this afternoon, I wanted to soak it in completely. Her gorgeous little face, her sweet smell, her random little snores, just all of it, because my time to enjoy these moments is becoming less and less.
And just look at that face, it’s hard to be mad at that! 😍
