(English ⬇️) Jede Abfahrt ist irgendwie auch ein Zeitpunkt der Abrechnung - aber nicht nur der Standplatzgebühr 😉. Es ist immer ein Rückblick darauf, was wir an diesem Ort erlebt und gelernt haben - ganz besonders dann, wenn wir länger da waren. 23 Tage haben wir hier auf dem Reiterhof gestanden und der Hof und die Umgebung sind ein kleines Stück Heimat geworden. Bevor wir losfuhren, haben wir eine letzte Runde über den Hof gedreht, um uns von allen zu verabschieden - auch von den Tieren, das war den Kindern ganz wichtig. Und als wir so bei den Pferden und Eseln standen und Talia ganz hingebungsvoll ihr Fell gestreichelt hat, hatten Mathias und ich das Gefühl, dass wir mit ihr häufiger zu den großen Koppeln hinter dem Hof hätten gehen sollen. Hierher wollte sie nicht allein gehen und wir haben uns nur ab und zu die Zeit dafür genommen. Bei uns stand in den letzten Tagen vor allem die Arbeit im Vordergrund. Wir haben irgendwie nicht so richtig die tägliche Balance zwischen Arbeit, Reise und Familie gefunden. Auf einen langen Zeitraum betrachtet passt es ganz gut, aber in den Tagen hier am Hof, war die Bilanz nicht ausgeglichen. Nunja, wir lernen noch und jeder neue Tag ist die Chance es besser zu machen. Die Fahrt heute hatte jedenfalls für uns alle wieder wundervolle Eindrücke im Gepäck. Mehr dazu findet ihr in unserer Story. . It is always a review of what we have experienced and learned at this place - especially when we have been there longer. For 23 days we stood here at the equestrian farm and the farm and its surroundings became a little piece of home. Before we left, we made a last round around the farm to say goodbye to everyone - also to the animals, that was very important for the children. And when we stood at the horses and the donkeys Talia stroked her fur so devotedly, Mathias and I had the feeling that we should have gone with her more often to the big paddocks behind the farm. Find. The. Balance. Easier said than done I know. This is something I am working on personally because it is so easy to get trapped in the nooks and cranny’s of trying to start a business, work part time at another job, keep up with housework, raise a family, be a good wife, and still want to make time for me. However, finding the balance is critical to staying happy, healthy, and being the best version of who I can be. I’ll share a few things that I have been working on to find the balance lately and maybe it will help you out. 1. Plan ahead. Invest in a planner that you will use daily, weekly, monthly to plan out your life. It just takes a few minutes a day to plan through the day or week and how you will spend your time. I write everything down even if it is a small task such as drinking my daily dose of dense nutrition or dropping off the girls at school and the sitter. I can cross it off and feel productive. 2. Make time for yourself. This is the only way that I have found that helps me be the best version of me. This can be as little as 15 minutes a day, 1 hour a week...whatever you need to keep yourself a priority. 3. Exercise. This is so important for our body and mind on so many different levels! You don’t have to go to a gym, you don’t have to purchase fancy equipment, you don’t have to wear expensive gym clothes. Just find 20-30 minutes a day to move your body doing something you enjoy! 4. Keep your to-do list short and simple. It’s easy to have a to-do list a mile long but when you have a ton of things that you need to do it is easy to get overwhelmed and feel like you are not accomplishing anything. I focus on 1-3 things a day I want to accomplish depending on how much time I have available. It’s much easier to stay on track and focused with a short list vs a long list. There you have it. Finding the balance is an ongoing challenge. The more your focus on it, the easier it gets. What is one way you try to find the balance?

Day 6 Balance For those of you that may think this comes so easily to me. It does not. Today was the COMPLETE opposite. I had zero balance, I am so bloated from poor food choices from about 3pm-12am yesterday/today. My mindset is just not where it needs to be. All of these aspects factor in to today’s workout being wobbly, tired, and frustrating. Yet, when it was all said and done, it was just what I needed. I was able to clear my mind a little bit. No, nothing is solved, and things I need to work out in my head are still there. The house work, and daily tasks are still there. I am just a little more mentally prepared now. Today is a new day; a new day to make better choices, turn my attitude around, and have a better day. 🤣🤣 working with friends is da best!!! Looking forward for the Live with Intention masterclass today 💗 . As I was preparing I was looking back at my intentions with individual goals I set. Every.single.one. that I was READY AND WILLING to make happen 100% did. It was so empowering to see that. Also, to see SO clearly now- that the ones that I will continue to work on (or are no longer aligned) did not fully Bloom because I might have said I wanted it, but I did not put the love and attention into it. Typically because I was scared, worried or fearful- aka there was a block! . Seeing this reminds me that blocks can be worked through. I see it with clients all the time and I see it in myself. So I show up, each day, and practice lovingly to release those blocks so that my thoughts and desires can match my inner state and willing action. Cheesy mirror selfie to celebrate the return of my calf muscles! 🙌 For almost a decade and a half I hated my calves. Back in high school - I must've been about 14 or 15 - I still remember being on the bleachers in assembly and overheard a boy behind me making fun of how massive my calf muscles were, sniggering with his popular mates about it in a voice audible enough that I knew it was intended for me to overhear. . This almost insignificant event that only happened over a couple of minutes gave me a complex about my calves - about my own body - that caused me to try and avoid wearing shorts, togs, above the knee skirts, anything that showed them off for many years afterwards. Perhaps I should have been more resilient as a teenager and brushed it off, but the fact is that throwaway comments have the potential to really cause damage when it comes to self body image. It changed the way I thought about my body. It changed the way I dressed. It changed me because for the first time I really started thinking about how others looked at my body. And this doesn't just happen to teenagers. . I dipped in and out of being okay with this, but it wasn't until I started rowing when I was 30 years old (almost 5 years AFTER I had started personal training) that I really started to appreciate my calves for what they could do and the strength they had, and with that came confidence in celebrating the way they looked. Then when I was flat on my back for almost 5 months in 2017 and they wasted away a lot, I MISSED them. . Moral of the story? There's no need to pass comment on someone else's body. You never know how it will be taken. And while we're at it, lets teach this lesson to our kids as well 💖

Sometimes self-care isn't just about gym time or nourishing food, or getting a massage or having some time out. It could be as simple as the ritual of putting on an outfit for the day that makes you look and feel amazeballs ❤ (even if you're not going anywhere or seeing anyone, you've only had about an hour's sleep thanks to baby and you're feeling somewhat seedy... #mostdaysin2018 ). . I never really used to take much notice of clothes. But after having two kids in two and a half years I got sick of wearing the same milk-stained black breastfeeding tops and invested in my wardrobe. I'm also spending less time in the gym and more time around the house, going for outings/events, at playdates, and parents' meetings. Over the past year I've gradually been upgrading my clothes (which used to pretty much just consist of activewear, black things, my token 'going out dress' and my 'Christmas Day dress'). . This beautiful floral stunner from @shineon.co.nz - most of my wardrobe now comes from there! - is a full length Boho dress, so different from my typical exercise tights and training singlets, but a dress that really makes me feel beautiful ❤ It's amazing how much one quality piece of clothing that fits really well can be such a pick-me-up! So this 10 year challenge got me reflecting back on the last 10 years of my life. In that time frame I have lived in 5 countries, gained weight 3x (each time over 30kgs), lost the weight, learned a new language, been in and out of relationships, met people from all over the world, been in life threatening situations (stared death in the face), been on the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Life is a myriad of experiences, some of them are amazing and some of them downright suck. If anything, the two greatest lessons I have learnt on my travels are: 1. Be yourself, and be unapologetic about who you are. Life is too short to be anyone else. 2. Take care of your own well-being (spiritual, mental, physical, emotional). Life is bloody tough. It's not fair in any way. Do your best to work on being in the right state-of-mind to face what life throws at you. I never shared my goals (yes multiple) so here they are: 🔹️Start blogging again because I LOVE writing. 🔹️Read more. 🔹️Grow in my career intellectually and financially. 🔹️Grow my training business by interacting more via social media and providing more FREE information. 🔹️Achieve my best physique to date (and maybe win a show because of it 🤫) 🔹️Spend more one on one time with each of my boys, my husband, AND my puppers. 🔹️Find time to actually be PRESENT with my family; phone off (still working in this) 🔹️Make myself proud. . Notice how most of these aren't even related to fitness? It may seen like a lot, but I've never sold myself short and I'm not about to start... you should try it sometime 😏

Haven’t been in a “selfie takin’ mood” lately. Took this pic on Sunday cuz I actually felt like it! ___ Got me thinkin...🤔 (yeah- it hurt a little 😜) What was the difference? What gave me a boost? Why the shift? ___ 💜 I got up “early” (for a Sunday). 💜 Right away I drank about 30 oz of water with my easy-for-travel supplements 💜🐶 Took a pooch I love for a walk (Wes ♥️) 💜 I worked out with my bestie 💜 Had a well-balanced breakfast (eggs, spinach, goat cheese, salsa and a small sausage patty) 💜 And I was headed to church and was excited about it. ___ So DUH! 🙄 I started with the basics! Stick to a routine of daily habits, hydrate well, get the body moving, I did something from the heart, nurtured some relationships, took my “ya can’t really rattle me” supplements and sat down and focused on the word of the Lord. ___ Seems so simple. Yet it takes 100’s of the right choices all day to get to sunset and say “Yup. I feel really good about my day.” Or to even feel good about YOU. ___ Progress is the key. No expectations of perfect. But better than the day before. One small decision after another! ___ What’s one daily habit you can change or enhance with seemingly small, insignificant changes? I’d love to hear!
Went for a x-country ski today, because just look at that weather! I really haven’t done it at all so far this winter and I was quickly reminded of one specific part about x-country skiing, and skate skiing in particular... it’s F$/!ing HARD! And then I started to think about how trying to ski on snow on these little skinny skis is kind of like life! Most of the time you feel out of balance, but when you find that sweet spot and you are in balance - watch out, because this is when it’s fun and you are just at ease. It’s also slightly frightening when you are trying to go downhill on these things, and life’s moments can be scary, but with courage we charge forwards and come through the other side that much stronger. After my hour and a bit of skiing around I was finding more moments of being in balance and I also figured out what to do when I got out of balance over my skis. This is Day 9 of my Shred 10 and I honestly just love the energy that starts to come my way. The clarity in my thinking, the calmness I feel. It is so so much more than just 10 days of eating clean and clearing toxins. I get times where I look at my body and think "urgh, i'm losing it"; The progress, the 4+ x a week gym visits, the 10x more expensive/effort diet, the time invested & the PT who taught me it all. When totally clean eating isn't so sustainable, when life gets in the way of getting to the gym, it's easy to think your progress is slipping away. What I must do in these times is train my mind. To give myself a break, to be grateful for the healthy body that carries me and be mindful of what I think of it. Think eggs are “bad” well they aren’t. No food for the most part is “bad“, it’s all relative to what else you eat, genetics, lifestyle, it varies per person and about 42 other things. I enjoy eggs and incorporate them in my healthy eating. 🥚 When changing your eating or looking at a new plan, look for one that doesn’t say a food is good or bad.
