Let’s talk about balance. In yoga, when in a standing posture, the feet are grounding us on the mat, while the rest of the body lift us up. There has to be a perfect balance of lifting and grounding happening simultaneously. Too much grounding, and you will find you are sinking down, not stretching yourself. Too much reaching or lifting and you may lose your footing. We must find a balance between the two opposing forces if we are going to both stay grounded, and grow at the same time! Push-ups and pull-ups are still a struggle for me. They stay in my programming for several reasons, but really, I just want to remove the "struggle." I LOVE lifting and slowly increasing the weight I am moving, but what is the point of I cannot do some basic bodyweight movements? I want to be able to be crazy on the playground with my girls, but also be able to pick them both up from the ground into a bear hug as they grow! Throwback to when I had more muscles, more hair and less tattoos. . This was 4 years ago after I helped the team at @goproteinnutrition create the best pre workout supplement on the market. . I get asked regularly to promote supplements and always refuse as most are completely unnecessary however but I do love taking Fuzion before a heavy weight session. . Most companies put a tiny amount of the ingredients in just to list them on the label but Fuzion has generous amounts including 5g creatine monohydrate and 270mg caffeine. . The only other supplements I recommend are whey protein, omega 3 and a multi vitamin. B E F O R E & D U R I N G ~ the top photo is T & I before all the tricky stuff. When it was just him& us. Before the miscarriage. Before the stillbirth of Jasper. Before life became difficult. . . . . Jasper had undiagnosed Edwards Syndrome a condition that is incompatible with life. I delivered him at 37 weeks. I was at home on my own. As a result of no medical practitioner being present ( my Midwife was stood on our drive trying to get in) the police and the coroner were involved. It was truly hideous being interviewed by police 12 hours after giving birth whilst trying to keep everything “normal” for one very sad 4 year old who had just lost his baby brother. I remember sitting there feeling numb and wondering how the hell I was going to handle the school run . . . , The bottom photo was taken a week after we lost Jasper. I’d just seen a baby in the restaurant wearing a babygrow I’d bought for J. I think my expression says it all. I wish I could rush back in time and hug that husk of a person and whisper “ you’ve got this” but actually I don’t need to because I knew we’d recover and I was never ever short of hugs. Those people that held me tightest during the darkest of days are now amongst my closest of friends. I am truly blessed. . . . , 9 months later I started training to be a Bach Practitioner with the hope that perhaps I could make a difference. I vowed never ever to give up on anyone who wants to get better. I stand by that to this day. . . . . I haven’t posted this for sympathy, I just want people to understand that it is possible to go through hell and come out smiling . If I can, anyone can 🌟 Also Jasper would be 4 today and no matter what, you never forget their birthday. Taking a break this past week was exactly what this heart of mine needed. It was definitely bitter sweet since I missed all of you and seeing what’s going on in your lives. But it wasn’t just about giving myself a time out from social media. It was a chance for me to refocus. I want to add it was one of the best weeks I have had in a long time. Want to know what’s funny... Nothing big and fancy out of the usual happened. Really it was a regular week. Well except chasing a mouse around my house. It was also full of cleaning, playing referee, staying up until 2 am not able to sleep, Library and park trips, singing and dancing around the house, lots of “please share” “I love you’s” “I’m sorry’s” some sad to admit yelling, some tears, some laughs, and lots of snuggles. Coming back to square one. Finding the balance. It’s amazing what can change on the inside when we turn our hearts to the Lord in obedience. I love my time here. I love all of you. I’m definitely slowly figuring out how I can have my cake and eat it too. Conference was the perfect way this time around to have a fresh start. This right here is why I do everything I do. For today’s #TransformationTuesday I thought I’d give a glimpse into the work that made this transformation possible. No Fit Teas or Detoxes for me. Just some hard work It’s been two full weeks post race and I feel GREAT!!! My body really felt everything and more that obstacle race gave it so I’ve slowly been getting back into it. My workouts aren’t changing too much. I’m really just cutting back on cardio cause I can HA! . For those that are curious, I work insurance. Yup, insurance (And it’s pretty dope!) So yeah, just a regular 8-5 desk job where I sit all day. So I make it a point to get to the gym 4-5 days a week for roughly 1-1.5 hours each session. Dats it! I ain’t got time to be here all day. Get in, get out and go home and eat! This is my “me time” so it’s something I make a priority. Plus our bodies aren’t meant to sit for hours on end. Want some video commentary? 😋 THAI CHICKEN NOODLES 😋 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here’s another super quick and tasty recipe from my 10 Week Lean & Learn program. This little gem is just over 400 calories and has a whopping 47g or protein. 💪 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Shopping & Ingredients List ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✅  25g Cashew Nuts ✅ 2 skinless Chicken Breasts, in strips ✅ 2 tsp Coconut Oil ✅ 115g Rice Noodles ✅ 150g Broccoli, florets ✅ 1 bunch Spring Onions, chopped ✅ 3cm Root Ginger thinly sliced ✅ 2 Garlic Cloves, crushed ✅ 1 tbsp Thai Fish Sauce ✅ 1 Lime, juice only ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Method ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣ Brown nuts in 1 tsp of oil in a wok by frying for about 2 mins & then set aside. 2️⃣ Next fry chicken on high heat for 3-4 mins until browned & set aside. 3️⃣ Meanwhile in bowl cover noodles with boiling water & leave for 3 mins before draining. 4️⃣ Add 1 tsp oil to the wok & stir-fry the broccoli, spring onions, ginger & garlic for 2 mins. Add splash of water if necessary. 5️⃣ Combine thai fish sauce with lime juice & 2 tbsp of water before adding to wok alongside chicken & noodles. Cook everything together for 2 mins. This was the picture I saw as I opened my camera tonight. It was taken after my workout with no intent to share outside of my own fit family. Well here I am throwing it out there. It’s how I felt after my workout today. I was up both Friday and Saturday night later than normal, which I don’t do once let alone twice in a weekend. I had drinks both nights and have no regrets. Do I do this every weekend? No, but life is about balance so when two exciting events happen in one weekend you do them both and enjoy! I was reflecting on balance and as I was out this weekend and enjoyed some treats off plan. Historically I would have stayed here and threw it out the window. I’ve learned I don’t feel good when I do this, physically or mentally. I got right back on track with meal prepping all Sunday like a boss and got right back to my workout this morning. I was tired and could have made it a rest day to sleep in, but I knew I needed to get back on to start my week in the right direction. That’s how I find more balance in my life. Yes this post is long...yes I wrote it myself, did not copy or paste...so please bare with me, cuz this is exactly what you need right now. A shift is happening... From the Divine Masculine to the Divine Feminine...and you can either fight it and be stuck in the old ways of the cycle, which at its end, has brought our glorious planet to Her knees, in tears and in pain- being on the brick of ultimate Fear, mistrust and greed. Or you can embrace this opportunity and trust in our mothers, daughters and sisters to birth us into a new era of compassion, cooperation and healing. When I talk about the Divine Masculine and Feminine, I am not really even talking about gender... Beacuse we all have Masculine and Feminine Consciousness within us...like having right and left hemispheres of the brain, each responsible for its own unique traits. Left is masculine- logic, math/science, sharp edges, black and white, thinks in words. The Right is feminine- intuitive, compassionate, holistic, creative, curves and circles, full color specturum, thinks in pictures. One side helps the other, this is not a us versus them thing...we need to find Balance...we need to get our Masculine Consciousness society to stop suppressing the Feminine..we need a new way of thinking, a new way of problem solving, a new way of communicating and interacting....this is only a "changing of the guard" so the other can rest and reassess and recharge.. Believe it or not but this shift has happened repeatedly for billions of years on our planet, each consciousness taking a turn at the wheel for about 35,000 years at a time. This coincides with the Processional of Equinox... We either point toward the center of the Universe or pointed away from it...the Masculine is there to protect and guard throughout the years we are pointed away..and the Feminine awakens and takes over as we turn towards the center..birthing in a new era....
