We are getting some amazing October days here in the PNW. We took a little drive up Hurricane Ridge the other weekend and saw this. It’s easy to forget how much awesome is right in our own backyards.
#RedwoodNationalPark in northern #California , est 1968, featuring tiny @ajnels4 -------------------------- "The Redwood National and State Parks are a complex of the national park and several state parks located along the coast of northern California. Comprising Redwood National Park and California's Del Norte Coast, Jedediah Smith, and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Parks. The combined parks contain 139,000 acres and feature old-growth temperate rainforests. The four parks, together, protect 45% of all remaining coast redwood old-growth forests. These trees are the tallest and one of the most massive tree species on Earth."

“If adventure has a final and all-embracing motive, it is surely this: we go out because it is our nature to go out, to climb mountains, and to paddle rivers, to fly to the planets and plunge into the depths of the oceans… When man ceases to do these things, he is no longer man.” – Wilfrid Noyce
I’m a little over this rain here in Austin, so #tbt to that time just over a year ago when @oliverdaniel2 and I climbed up Emory Peak for this gorgeous view. Dying to get back. I’ll make it to the top next time so I can buy that damn keychain. . . . @bigbendnps @nationalparkservice #bigbendnationalpark #nationalparks #getoutside #findyourpark

Today was a very good day! I partnered up with the clothing brand @ninthprojectco the human experience is very strange when you sit down and think about it deeply. All I know is that right now I’m so happy. I havnt felt this good in awhile. I feel blessed to have people approach me to rep their gear. I’ll continue to grow
The subtle burn of an early October sunset in Shenandoah National Park. Even without the fall foliage this place is an autumn stunner.
A portrait of the oldest living organism on the planet, the Great Basin Bristlecone Pine (Pinus longaeva). This one was photographed at the isolated Great Basin National Park where the oldest specimen found in the same grove at the park was a 4,862 year-old tree named Prometheus. Prometheus was cut down by a grad student in the 70s for research unfortunately because he did not know of the age of the tree. Wonder and humility are the emotions I felt while standing under these trees. They have seen the rise and fall of human civilizations and they still stand here to this day. I wonder what wisdom these ancient beings store in their twisted trunk and roots. •••••••••••[Post 2 of 2 ]I had to split the photos into two to effectively zoom out the photo on the left because IG doesn’t allow for vertical photos to fit 😑. My first post has a better view of the photo on the right. "You cannot look down from the summit of Mount Rainier, or walk through the Enchanted Valley, or ski across the glaciers of Mount Shuksan, without feeling that you have somehow been affected by the experience." ~ Leif Whittaker We know you love Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. And we know you've had unforgettable experiences in at least one of them--maybe even all three! Washington's National Park Fund raises funds to fill critical funding gaps that help make those experiences possible. Your support funds projects in areas like Science and Research (like the migration patterns of Cascade butterflies), Visitor Experiences (like funding miles and miles of trail maintenance), Volunteers and Stewardship (including equipment for Search and Rescue!), and Youth and Family programs (ensuring youth in our great state have opportunities to experience the park no matter what!). Support from people like you has a great impact, ensuring unforgettable experiences for everyone who visits one of our state's national parks, now and in the future. #findyourpark #mountrainier #northcascades #olympicnationalparks #weloveparks #supportyourparks #wnpf
We’re continuing our #AlaskaDay celebration with more stunning public lands in #Alaska . When the initial purchase of Alaska was announced in 1867, many Americans ridiculed the sale. However, in the 151 years since, Alaska’s incredible beauty and bountiful resources have proven it to be a valuable addition to our union. Hiked Kaaterskill Falls last weekend for the first time and was really impressed! How did it take me 6yrs to get here?! This is one of the highest waterfalls in NY (and a quick drive from the city!). Pictured is the upper falls as there's a pool and lower falls below. . . . . 📌Catskills Mountains, NY
Up we go! ☀️
You're prickly but I still kinda like you.
#tbt to waking up in @picturedrocksnps two weeks ago. 🏕️ . My favorite part of camping is climbing out of my tent in the morning and being greeted by nature! (Even if it's pretty darn close to freezing temperatures! Peep my just-woke-up layer game in that last photo.) I had the beach, just steps away from my tent, all to myself. Honestly, taking some time to just be by myself, quiet and in nature, is the most refreshing thing. .
