Lost Lands yesterday was definitely an experience. It ended up being something that we decided not to do again today though. It wasn’t bad, it was just something that we realized wasn’t for us. On our way home last night I was talking with @spontaneous_octavious
about how in this social media culture everyone feels pressured to constantly post about how they’re having the best time and everything they’re doing is always awesome. Which I feel like leads to a lot of non-genuine posts from people, and an unrealistic expectation for what your life should be. Not everything has to be an amazing, life changing, earth shattering experience. Sometimes things are average, and that’s totally okay.
Luckily for me, the best part of most of the new things we experience is that I am getting to experience them with Jake. The company is just as important as the environment. Did I have an outrageously great time? No. But I did have a pretty fun time; we saw some awesome flow artists dancing with fire, I got to hear my favorite Flume remix live, we got to see an awesome bar that had fire all over the ceiling, and I got incredibly close to one of the largest stages I have ever seen. (And there were dinosaurs and fire all over the place!!) All in all it was pretty neat, it’s just not something we have a desire to do again.
