So many beautiful pictures from 2017 to choose from! Snowshoeing, frozen falls, Hawaii, Oahu, fish traps, tide pools, GIS certificates, solar eclipse, meteor showers, aurora searching, firelookouts, along with numerous trips to the Olympics, and Mt. Rainier. I'm so happy you were there with me for all the random adventures. Looking forward to 2018 with this cutie. So here is a pic that I feel perfectly captures our silliness. 💕 Happy new year to my love, family, and friends. 🎉

Ok but being serious tho we also found a really old fire look out and the doors were locked but look what we found inside⚡#firelookout
2017 has been a great year for many reasons. I was able to accomplish a lot this year and am looking forward to big things in 2018. Looking back on the last year I thought I would post five of my favorite memories from the outdoors from 2017. So here is #5 : @taylor_swn and I made an impromptu trip to the Mt. Pilchuck fire lookout on an October Sunday evening to spend the night. It was rainy and gloomy all day but the forecast called for a clearing late in the day so we decided to make the hike up to the lookout. We were stuck in a cloud when we arrived at the lookout and after a while it appeared that the clouds were not going dissipate. But just as the sun was getting ready to set, the clouds suddenly dropped and cleared on the horizon and we were treated to one of the best sunsets I have ever seen. The cool autumn air was so clear that we could see virtually all of the Puget Sound to the west. It was one of my favorite nights of the year.

Sometimes you just need to snowshoe to the middle of nowhere and totally unplug with your loved ones for a few days. Here's our reward after snowshoeing uphill for a couple hours with all our belongings on our backs.
