Since it’s Thursday I figured why not do a throwback Thursday post. So here’s a throwback post to my family trip to Thailand, as you can see I was pretty much born to be a bodybuilder 😂💪🏻 jokes apart traveling has always been a passion for me and I try my best to save up enough money to visit one new country every year. I get that traveling can be expensive sometimes but if you put aside some money every month and make your bookings well in advance it doesn’t necessarily have to be too expensive. Make it a point to try to visit new places and experience new cultures because travel is something that nourishes your soul and gives you memories that will last you a life time. .

Next to last big workout on the road to Long Branch. I had to postpone this for a few days because of schedule complications, but glad I finally got it in, a 14 mile #fastfinishrun . In keeping with the advice a few years ago of my friend and great masters marathoner @keithfreeburn I broke it up in two pieces. First I ran my neighborhood 7-mile loop at easy effort in my regular trainers (@brooksrunning PureCadence). Then back at the house I did a quick shoe switch (and switched to a singlet while I was at it) to my marathon racers, the @nike LumarTempo. Then I was right back out the door and ran the same loop. This is a tough, hilly route, a far cry from the flat terrain of the Jersey shore. For a 3:20 marathon, I need to run 7:38/mile, and 7:42 on this course is a good indicator I can do that. It's also a confidence builder after last week's very rocky #longrun . Next up: #gwparkwayclassic10miler , the final dry run before @njmarathon. Here’s what I learned from her strong finish.
1️⃣ We cannot accomplish all that we need to without working together.
2️⃣ Keep showing up.
3️⃣ Don’t look back. Put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward. .
This was the most emotional and motivating race since watching @shalaneflanagan win the New York Marathon. These women have inspired me to start training again for a half-marathon and start working towards my goal of qualifying for Boston. .
Who inspires you to go for your dreams?
This morning I was sore from yesterday and that little voice in my head was like you don't really need to train. I told that voice to shut the f*^k up lol and I got up at 6am and I went to the gym. Everyone wants things but not everyone is willing to pay the price to get what they want. What are you willing to sacrifice to get what you want? What are you willing to pay?
