Wipers truly workout your obliques like none other while developing overall core strength. BULKING | TRACKING PROGRESS 🔥 Week 2 of the bulk is already in the books. Thought it was time for a quick back check, which turns out not to be the easiest thing to do 😂 Now serious... In my opinion, checking yourself out in the mirror is a great way (if not the best) to keep your form in check or to visually track your fitness progress. In fact, if you're training to build an aesthetically pleasing physique, the mirror is a better way to track progress than focussing yourself solely on a stupid number on the scale 🚫 . During a bulking phase, I see so many people (mostly guys) chasing a scale weight. "Yeh bro, want to gain like 5 kg/ 11 pounds per month or so". Sounds familiar? 😂 This way of approaching a bulk is exactly the reason why a lot of people end up looking like shit at the end of their bulk, which shouldn't be the case. All because of setting their expectations too high in terms of the amount of lean muscle mass you can gain within a certain time frame 📆 The end result is that you might have reached your goal weight but your also fat & are now forced to waste several months in order to lose the excessive amounts of body fat you've gained 👎 . Don't get me wrong: gaining some fluff on a bulk is completely normal & part of the building process. However, there is not a single excuse to become fat while bulking. In fact, doing so is even a very counterproductive way to build muscle mass due to a suboptimal hormone environment & decreased insulin sensitivity 📉 My overall advice for tracking progress is simple: sure track body weight, but also pay attention to other tracking methods. Taking physique pictures or body measurements, having a workout log to check if you're getting stronger, hell even wearing old clothes again: they're all tools which can be used 👊 #luis_lifts_ #timetogrow . . . .

FIVE THINGS ABOUT ME 🤗 it’s been a hot minute since I’ve intro’d myself to you guys so here are a few things about me.⠀ ⠀ ( 1 ) I was raised in the suburbs of Chicago and have lived in NY since I was 19. I moved here for college and haven’t looked back since.⠀ ⠀ ( 2 ) I have been gluten free since I was 17. I found out I had celiac’s my senior year of high school. I was having a lot of stomach issues and my DRs wanted to put me on a bunch of pills with nasty side. I wasn’t sold on taking medication which led me to a holistic nutritionist. she put me on a food elimination diet. as soon as I removed gluten from my diet, my digestive issues were gone. ⠀ ⠀ ( 3 ) I grew up dancing: ballet, tap, jazz. I was never really interested in sports. one time I tried out for the soccer team. I wore Juicy Couture knee high socks w/o shin guards to tryouts... I didn’t make the team. ⠀ ⠀ ( 4 ) I’m not a full time influencer. my day job is buying + planning at a major department store. being a buyer was always my dream job growing up. anyone else idolize Rachel from Friends?⠀ ⠀ ( 5 ) I started D2R as a creative outlet from my desk job. *pic is not mine but for reference* While doing a cut you should be lifting heavy weights. The old thinking of high reps , light weight is outdated and proven to not be advantageous to cutting weight aka getting toned. Muscle is metabolically responsible for fat loss and continued fat loss as it is known that muscle burns more calories at rest... more muscle=potential for more calories burned. You also can’t get a muscle more “cut” that only comes through having a good base of muscle and lower body fat %. This comes through smart food options, lifting weights and doing smart cardio (not endless cardio). Lastly when you are cutting you are most likely eating in a caloric deficit when means your energy levels will be lower and the ability to recover will decrease. This is why you want to do the most bang for you buck exercises, heavy compound movements like squats, bench press, pull ups etc that works a variety of muscles. Ditch the lateral raises , leg extensions etc and concentrate on those movements. Here is a Sample leg day Barbell hip thrusts 3-4 sets @ 3-5 reps Barbell squats 4x4-6 reps- Lunges 3x7-8 reps- Barbell Romanian deadlifts 4x7-8 reps
