It's Wedding Wednesday 😚 maybe I made that up not sure but since we are here id like to talk about it. Most of you who have been following me know I lost 40lbs during my engagement. I worked my ass off to be in a place that I felt the most comfortable with myself -as corney as it is Eric doesn't care what size I am 😚 I was the heaviest I had ever been and it was time to get focused and get back to the grind. I wanted to shed some light on a post I post last week about not lifting heavy. My build was already muscular I just had some extra fat covering it as well. The look I was going for in my wedding dress was " fit" but didn't want my muscle to stand out as much . Because of this my training style changed. I didn't do max effort on upper body weights-moderate weight only , I avoided completely lat exercises, my upper body workouts were usually through plyomeyrics &compound lifting( dead lifts,tire flips,squats), to name a few. On that same note it's important to point out lifting weights doesn't make you jacked-musclar- man looking etc. Females if you want to lose weight and have an overall fit look weights are important. You don't need to 1 rep max all exercises but don't be scared to weight train it's vital for weight loss !! Overall I was completely happy with the look I achieved. My nutrition was 100% and My training was tweaked to my overall desired look!! Short story.. lift the weights+eat at a deficit= weight loss & defined muscles 💪 Ps. The first 2 pictures are during the 2nd half of our first dance we started out with a country song and ended with bachata -which btw we practiced in the kitchen Many many many times lol . Today I did 8.5 pull-ups! After pregnancy I couldn’t even do one! I’ve been slowly increasing the reps. My goal is to get back to doing 10 straight pull-ups. Notice that I go all the way down. This is sooo much harder but I’m getting stronger & soon I’ll reach my goal! Progress isn’t always smooth. Some weeks I make great progress, while others I feel I stay the same. The important thing is to KEEP GOING. No matter what, consistency is key to achieving your goals. You want to get better at something? Practice it! Work at it! I have been MIA for a week ... oops 🤦🏼‍♀️ Just been living my life, spending time with my family and planing my wedding 🙌🏼💕. - - CONFESSION TIME: .... I also haven’t been to the gym or eaten well for a good week and it has made me feel pretty awful. It’s amazing what an impact your diet and lifestyle can have on the way you look and feel. Does anyone else notice the changes in your skin, energy levels and general motivation when you’ve fallen off the wagon ?! 😫
What is your ideal morning routine vs. your minimum benchmark? . Think about the minimum benchmark as something that can be done in less than 10 minutes where you hit your core value with an achievable goal. . . My ideal morning routine would be from 5:45 AM until 11:30 AM. Do you see how this can be unrealistic? However on certain days of the week, this can be totally doable. . . . Hitting my minimum benchmark however can happen every single day even on the craziest and most hectic of days. . . Nutrition: Here is an example of an ideal breakfast! not your typical standard American BF. . . Whole Proteins and/or grains Greens and Veggies Fruit Extra Vitamins/Minerals: fresh pressed juice and/or a multivitamin supplement . . To get my balanced macros (carbs/fats/protein) I food combine for the entire day vs. by meal knowing my specific body type and what I need within my circumstances, i.e.) imbalances or sensitivities at the moment. . How much stress emotionally/physically we are under can determine portion size, protein requirements, as well as vitamin and mineral deficiencies. . . Did you know that when we are under stress both emotionally and physically our B vitamins are used up faster? . . Recently I’ve been concerned with a bit of hair loss/hair thinning, so I’ve increased my daily protein intake along with supplementing with a multi B vitamin complex as well as reducing my emotional and physical stress. Doing more yoga and less CrossFit. . . Since the B vitamins are water soluble and not stored very well in the body, it is best to make sure we are hitting our daily requirements through diet, and if not supplement with food at the end of the meal. . Thankfully taking a step back and refocusing my goals and mindset allowed me to look at this from a different point of view and start to enjoy the process again. 19 weeks today and she's officially popped!! I spent this past weekend feeling super full, achy & tired so I knew there were some big changes taking place. 🔅I now feel her moving regularly throughout the day. 🔅What was once tiny flutters are now able to be seen on the outside of my belly. ❤ 🔅My appetite is pretty spotty at the moment.
