Today's workout was a 😅SWEATY😅 one! I needed it to be quick because I have SO MUCH WORK TO DO. 👩🏼‍💻👩🏼‍💻 So, I did a pretty sweet circuit. It's so effective for putting out a lot of energy in not a lot of time. I'll break down a few of the things from my workout over the next few days. For today: ✴️LATERAL BAND WALK✴️ This is going to target mostly the 🍑glute med🍑 🖐🏼But only if you do it properly🖐🏼 👟The most important thing is to lead with the heel of the foot. Make sure the band doesn't drag that heel inward. 👟Also, you control the band. The band doesn't control you. So make sure you control that foot all the way back to starting position. 👟 Lastly, make sure youre in the proper stance. Hinge back slightly at the hips and bend slightly at the knee to really get the booty involved. Go build some beautiful buns, hun!(I'm sorry😆) 🍑🍑🍑
@nikkifiorettiactress ・・・ A little late but #33weeks !This morning I was feeling a bit huge. I went from a 25 inch waist to a 41 already & seem to be gaining weight everyday. The scar from the bellybutton ring I haven't worn since junior year stretched again& the amount of cellulite on the backs of my thighs and butt seems to have both doubled & deepend. I wasn't feeling very body positive & then my 4 yearold daughter popped her head in& exclaimed "Wow! You look so beautiful with your baby in your belly!" For a split second I thought about saying "Ugh, I feel huge" but stopped. Growing up my mom was never happy with her weight. I don't think she ever loved her body during or after pregnancy. She complained so much that I would write Santa asking him to help her with her diets&began to worry about how big I was. In 2nd grade I weighed 60lbs& thought that was too much for my age,so after school everyday I'd pop in one of my mother's #bunsofsteel tapes &workout. Then weigh myself immediately after& deflate when the number on the scale didn't move. My Grampa, who watched me everyday, had to have a talk with her about how her negative body talk was influencing my own self image. As I got older, even though I was between a size 0-2 , she would constantly comment about my appearance. My "bigger" hips being her main focus. But just about anything was up for ridicule, wether it was me not doing my hair, not wearing a color or style flattering to my shape or not wearing makeup. Then, my attempting to appear attractive was later shamed by a future relationship &neighborhood/cultures/ "friends" that found the showing of skin, wearing of makeup/form fitting clothes or even my existence as a bastard to be downright sinful. Perhaps, if I had been given a positive view of my body &own self worth a part from it early on, then I wouldn't have struggled to love it so long or worried what others thought about it, whether it be all covered up or out in the open. I want my daughter(s) (&son) to know there is nothing shameful about her body &want her to love her own as much as she helps me love mine. #bumpwatch #maternityphoto

HUMP DAY THOUGHTS 🐪 The past two days we’ve been on a mini vacation to Austin and during this trip I had absolutely zero desire to run. So many times I need to look back 👀 to see how far I’ve come!!!! Yes I’m on my S E C O N D fitness journey since kids... first time around I was 24 with 2 under 3 {17 months apart}... then I was 29 with 3 kids and this last journey has been one of growth mentally and physically, but has taught ME how to be open for change and challenges! 1 year ago I was a year into my post pregnant 🤰🏼 journey after Tan Man and I was super exhausted 💤 from trying trying and trying but never committing to 1 aspect because I love food and I used that as my excuse as I was “nursing” a youngling... “i need to eat I’m starving” “i need to keep my milk up!”... I was sitting at my moms house wondering why am I so exhausted... my body is yet changing again! My muscles are fatigued and I’m not fueling myself properly to get the energy I need! I started a new program this past Monday... but knowing I’m going to an amusement park this weekend I am RECOMMITTING fully Monday the 23rd for 8 weeks, no exceptions! So I’m going to start with the 3 day detox of just veggies and protein! Then I’ll do my meal plan to add carbs! I am looking for other mommas who are tired of feeling tired, wives that want to be able to enjoy their spouse and not be too tired, and women who are ready to be a better version of them! I need accountability, directly side to side with you all! Let me tell you about dressing rooms Oman’s their bad lighting.⁣ They purposely make the dressing rooms dark and dingy so you can’t really see how you look.⁣ And the mirrors are never angled right - you can’t telk but trust me i watched the mirrors get installed at a job i had in high school and the installer told me the method behind how they install the mirrors - basically you end up thinking you need a bigger size because you looks bigger then you really are.⁣ I wanted that bathing suit SO bad but everything about trying it on in that nasty dressing room made me think it wasn’t for me. A whole later and i still regret not buying it.⁣ Not because i actually care about the bathing suit. But because i didn’t have enough confidence in myself to just get what made me happy regardless of what the mirror portrayed. ⁣ Since then if i want it i buy it and i hardly ever try anthying on until i get home. ⁣ Do yourself a favor and loose self doubt. Be happy with the image in the mirror even if you’re still working on it!

Transformation Tuesday! (A day late, ‘cuz mom-LIFE 🤷🏼‍♀️) . Did you guys know that until my mid-twenties, I’d never been active? For real. Aside from an old “Yoga for Dummies” dvd, I had never worked out in my lifetime. I would skip out of P.E. Class all the time and I just could not wrap my mind around wanting to sweat. Similarly, I never gave much thought to how I ate until my mid-twenties. I gained a freshman 15 like most college students. My diet was rich in take-out, soda, and anything sweet. Believe it or not, the woman on the left is a size 4. I remember being uncomfortable in my own skin, despite my pant size. . Wanna know what got me started on my #fitnessjourney ? My anxiety and depression diagnosis. . Yup, I am an anxious person and it can make a downhill slide into depression if left unchecked. In my mid 20s I went in search of help. My Doctor at the time (hey, Dr Wright 😉) addressed my immediate needs AND sent me off with this advice: “you need to exercise.” 👨🏼‍⚕️(👈🏻legit, he looked like this.) Well, it turns out Dr Wright was right. (Pun!) My body needed a positive outlet for some hard feelings. . This transformation story is less about pant size, aesthetics, bikini bodies, or anything to that effect. My transformation started with a woman who was very, very anxious and desperately needed help. My journey has had many twists and turns, but it’s led me here... to my sweet little life, with the beautiful family I created.❤️ . Let’s share! What got you started on your journey? Another sweaty selfie🙈 Did my second 3D scan today, and the result wasn't bad, but could be better... Lost 0.6% of body fat, which is basically 1lb of fat mass, but also lost 5lbs of non-fat mass (partially muscle😣) I will definitely be switching up my workout strategies a bit in the next few weeks, trying to focus on gaining more muscle, going heavier on the weight and doing less reps... time to hide my scale for some time as it will be hard😣🤷‍♀️ #goldsgym

🗣 Confession 🗣 I get nervous before workouts. Like when my husband asks me about logistics: What’s the workout? What time will you be getting up? Where are you running? ... all normal questions, I don’t like to answer, or even think about it. I tend to brush them off and if I get out there and feel fine, then that’s when my workout begins. My best workouts tend to be the ones where I have no real plan, no real expectation, and my feet decide where I’m going to run. Sounds totally crazy, right? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Especially because as a coach I KNOW the importance of mile repeats, tempo runs, fartleks... and I’ve always performed my best when I’ve incorporated these into my training regularly. 〰️〰️〰️ As I finished what ended up being a pretty good 4 x 1 mile workout (10.3 miles total), I started contemplating why I get in my head so much. I chalked this anxiety up to a fear of failing. As a self-proclaimed ‘Type A’ person (as most of us runners are!), I am competitive by nature, driven, and sometimes a bit of a perfectionist. But NEWS FLASH, nobody’s perfect and especially these days, I’m anything but organized! So, this morning I made a little commitment to myself to stop worrying about the outcome, to unequivocally state what my workout will be before I do it, and to focus more on the here and now in this marathon training. One bad workout or race is not reflective of your fitness level or your upcoming race result.
