😂 boy how life has changed! I’m soaking in every minute of this little nugget but he’s still growing too fast 😭😍 3 weeks today, great eater, great sleeper, and just an angel 👼🏻 I still can’t lift anything heavier than Jack for another 3 weeks... no stretching, no working out, only walking as tolerated. I’m trying my best to comply but honestly I’m not the best at resting... but recovery is important to me so I’m doing my best! Sorry for the lack of post, I’ll get back to some older content and nutrition education soon 💕

✨ This is a hard one for me. ✨
My type A personality picks apart every single little flaw in photos of myself and I can barely bring myself to film a workout. Because honestly, I see the little jiggle here or tummy pooch sticking out there and it makes me delete the video! In hindsight, it seems silly, but it’s my reality and something I am CONSTANTLY working on. .
This journey is constantly evolving and I am growing with every step. .
What has helped? I set smaller goals within my big goal and give myself realistic timelines. Instead of losing 30 lbs in 3 months, I break it down into 5lb increments and reward myself for every mark I meet! That reward is sometimes a new pair of leggings, a fun new color of toenail polish, a new book...whatever it is, it’s an added incentive that keeps me moving in a positive, progressive direction. What are YOUR rewards?
Fun fact: Tip It On Back by Dierks Bentley used to be my Friday evening ANTHEM. Popping it on was the FIRST thing I’d do when I got in the car every Friday when I got off work (however late that might be) to celebrate making it through another long, hard week. Which is kinda funny cause I’d usually end up working on the weekends too 🤷🏼♀️. Though the only thing I’m tipping back these days of my cup o joe, I still think about what this song used to represent when it comes on. And now I JAM even harder cause it I’m not about that 9-5 anymore 🙌🏼❤️
Want to know how I stay on track with my healthy lifestyle while out of town or celebrating with friends? It can be challenging, but life is full of celebrations, and it's important to have a game plan so you can take part in the fun without totally falling off the wagon. 😉
1) drink all the water. Especially if you will be drinking adult beverages. You need water for energy, fat burning, organ function, pooping....the list is endless. So get that water in!
2) make good decisions when you can. You may not be able to control all of your meals, but I bet you can control some of them. Do the best you can with the options you are given. If you show up to a party, chances are, there will be at least one healthy option to snack on. I'm not saying don't splurge, but your entire day doesn't have to be a splurge.
3) squeeze in a workout. Even if it's 10 minutes of squats and push-ups in the bathroom before you shower, do something. Keep moving. Every 10 minute workout helps!
4) if you are drinking, watch your mixers! Vodka and water with lime has WAY less sugar than a vodka tonic. Try not to use soda as a mixer. The goal is simple, clean ingredients...not weird mixers full of food coloring and corn syrup.
5) get back on track as soon as the festivities are over. Remember your goals! One weekend of fun shouldn't deter you from your plan. This is a lifestyle! 👊🏼

I remember waiting for my epidural to wear off so I could get up and use the restroom and take a shower after I gave birth to Alize. When I did I looked at myself in the mirror and was horrified. My skin on my stomach was sagging terribly, she was 9lbs and I have a naturally small build so my skin stretched A LOT. I thought to myself how I would never have a nice stomach again, I never thought I'd be able to get abs or get back to my pre-pregnancy body. .

Pike Rollouts on Swiss 🧀 Ball ⚽️ This is one of my favorite ab exercises too do that puts your core strength to the test.
These by far never get any easier as much as I do them, that’s what keeps me coming back for more. I love 💕 the challenge, and intensity these bring to the table.
If you do a lot of ab planks or ab tucks with the Swiss ball, take it to the next notch and try these.
Balance and control, lifting my hips up high in the air, keeping my legs and back straight is just one aspect of this exercise.
The rollback adds intensity on your whole upper body, triceps, biceps, chest and back. Just an overall killer move.
I do 8 to 10 pikes x 3 sets. The harder an exercise is the more I’m intrigued and determined to try it and get better at it. If it was easy everyone would be doing it, make it count and have FUN...

But really this post is to merely call myself out. I haven’t gotten my workout yet... BUT strutting around in workout clothes is different these days. I remember when I used to wear them because nothing fit. 😭🤦🏻♀️
I’m happy to be wearing them out and about now because I’m not just wearing them for that reason. I crush my workouts and feel accomplished — even when I have impromptu rest days or when I just “run out of time”. Yeah, that excuse is real sometimes! Just don’t over use it.

SO SIMPLE GUYS!
Save yourself some time ⏱ and money 💰 and just pack your meals for the day ! Have your protein, carbs, & veggies made in bulk for the next 2-3 days, and just separate them into Tupperware’s the morning of or night before. It doesn’t have to be boring you can spice these options up, but I like to keep things simple for time sake. I do make my breakfast and dinner fresh because I like to get creative with those 😋
Here are some good protein, carbs, fat and veggie sources: •
Fish (salmon, tuna, cod)
Sweet potatoes, red potatoes
Rice (brown or white)
Nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
Nut-butters (peanuts butter, almond butter)
Extra virgin olive oil
Last summer was definitely my strongest season of running yet. With training miles increasing again this summer I’m pulling back in all the tricks that help for recovery on long run days! is a given but for any severe muscle soreness i love mixing it with goodys powder for instant feel goods ( I’m actually drinking this RIGHT now ) “ ice bath” always after anything over 15 miles which just means the baby pool filled up with water the night before . Also not pictured - staying active all day after ! Kinda hard to miss this one when you’re a Mom though let’s be real here💁🏻♀️

So I did a thing today - a thing *way* outside my comfort zone - 🔥hot pilates🔥 with my jet setting, boss mom babe-ing, surfer gal pal, and newly minted pilates instructor Lori @llangona
What is hot pilates?
Think classical pilates (glutes and core), and add squats, lunges, burpees, and more...all in a heated and humid classroom.
What's a hot pilates class like?
My 1 hr Power Pilates class opened with a bridge series which was a great way to fire up the glutes.🔥🍑🔥 Lori turned things way up and kept my body guessing with planks, burpees, single leg deadlifts to knee raises (unweighted), mountain climbers, squats, lunges, bicycle crunches, V-ups, crunches, etc. I loved how the class had a ton of variety - I was never bored and my core was *always* engaged.
Will you try it again?
Definitely! This was only my 2nd time *ever* doing hot pilates and getting used to the heat is still something I'm working on. That said, I loved how my whole body (including my recently tweaked back) relaxed. I felt flexible and my muscles were more than ready to work.💪 Lori brought the heat with her 80s playlist - I was totally rockin' out and she kept me smiling as sweat poured from every last pore! Bonus? First month @purepoweryoga
