#legday had me back at the squat rack. Thanks to @davidfahyfitness (check out his page!) for some good feedback on Saturday’s vid. Put the plates under my heels, got a lot deeper than I have in the past. So this is with 225. And twelve was HARD. Gonna continue working on my ankle mobility and hip mobility but man I felt this in my glutes by having my ankles move with the weight. Damn. 405 is still out there, but I’m gonna scale back for a bit. I did do 2X8 for 275. Those were hard, too. Felt really good tho. Today’s thought: ask for feedback. I didn’t ask David for it, but he offered it productively. It was helpful and he wasn’t an ass. Some guys forget not to be an asshole. But don’t be afraid to ask for feedback from people you trust. Try new things...OFTEN! Personally, I’ve found it’s easier for me to stay motivated if I change up my workout routine frequently. I don’t follow any one program. This keeps my body guessing and prevents me from burning out. From BBG to TIU, from large group classes to small group classes, from barre to yoga, from pilates to weight lifting, from aerial to HIIT I do it all and mix it up regularly! Moral of the story, figure out what works for you and slay the hell out of it!! 😘

Killing two birds with one stone? 🤔 . Tonight, I played around with a combination of Hip Flexion and Hip Extension PAILs/RAILs at the same time. I’m not looking for a way to try to cut corners with my mobility work. Rather, this is a way to experiment with new positions and irradiate through different joint angles. . Here, my PAILs contraction with my lead foot is pushing through the bench. I’m also driving my trail heel and knee into the floor. . The RAILs contraction for my lead leg is trying to pull the torso forward while trying the lift the foot. While learning further forward with the torso, I’m focusing on driving my trail hip forward as well to pull me further into hip extension. . This got my brain churning and I’m going to start to play around with this idea in 90/90 and Bear Sit over the next few weeks. Will I ever end up in this position and vulnerable to injury? Haven’t shared a transformation Tuesday post in quite a while. So here it is. This is from phase 1, the first month of workouts of the 80 Day program I’m doing, along with following a HFLC meal plan with intermittent fasting. Nope, haven’t been depriving myself. Haven’t been starving myself. Eating real food, less processed stuff, fueling my body, working out and building strength. It’s not about a number on the scale. It’s about being healthy, being strong, feeling good in my skin and being the absolute best version of me!

Digestion typically begins in the stomach except for carbs which begin in the mouth. However, do you know where the absorption of nutrients takes place? Each nutrient is a bit different and only alcohol is absorbed in the stomach. Most of the others are absorbed in the walls of the small intestine. Electrolytes are absorbed in the large intestine and a lot of times bloat can be caused by electrolyte imbalances. After absorption nutrients enter the bloodstream and go to muscle, fat, glycogen, etc 🤗 .... you know... in case you ever wanted to know what happens to the Reese’s puffs after you eat them :)
Throwback to when I was strictly paleo. My thoughts? A great diet if you’re trying to trim down and lose some weight. It will shed your water weight and more and help you feel awake and ready to go all day! Downside? Keeps you skinny and makes holding muscle a little more difficult.
