i’ve been thinking a lot about failure recently. but probably not in the way you’re thinking. failure is kind of a cool thing if you have the right perspective on it. it’s not a defeat - it’s a redirection. when you fail at something you switch it up and you learn how to succeed.
for me, it’s SOOOO easy to let failures get to me. i begin to wonder what’s wrong with me, i get sad, i think i’m not good enough. BUT FAILURE IS PART OF LIFE MAN!! and it teaches us soooo much about life, ourselves and success. i’m just gonna leave ya with my all time favorite quote by JK Rowling 💕💕💕“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default.”💕💕💕
As a teacher, I understand how hard it is to get all of your water in and to find time to eat every 3 hours! •
The answer? Make a plan. Sit down and figure out times in your day where you can eat or eat & work at the same time. Find times in the day where you can have a 🚽 break from all the water! Or if you’re me, have amazing coworkers that watch your class if you need to go! •
You make it work. If it’s passed 3 hours..it’s okay. We are striving for progress not perfection. 🍎 But don’t let this be a REASON why give up. You’re worth it, remember that! •

FAT LOSS 101
Losing weight can often be difficult not only to execute but to START.
I'm often asked, "Which diet should I take? Low carbs? Low fat? No sugar? Intermittent fasting? What should I eat? How should I train?
To be honest, if you don't have a solid foundation and the proper knowledge in nutrition then the rest does NOT matter.
Throw away all those fad diets and rubbish challenges. Here is the REAL TRUTH to Fat Loss.
Fat Loss is a numbers game.
CALORIES IN vs. CALORIES OUT.
Everything you eat contains macronutrients, which make up a certain amount of energy measured as CALORIES.
When you consume MORE calories than what your body expends = you GAIN weight (AKA Caloric Surplus).
When you consume LESS calories than what your body expends = you LOSE weight (AKA Caloric Deficit).
So bottom line is, if you want to lose weight be in a CALORIC DEFICIT. You can do this by:
a) Consuming LESS calories than what your body uses up
b) Doing MORE activities in the day to burn more calories (move around, exercise)
c) A combination of a) & b)
The best way to make sure that you're in a caloric deficit is by TRACKING your calories
I personally use an app called 'myfitnesspal'.
1) Simply DOWNLOAD the app.
2) Put in your DETAILS.
3) Set your GOALS on the app.
4) TRACK down everything you eat and stick to the caloric limit it gives you.
5) RE-EVALUATE your results.
People who know me know that I have a hard time giving up on people. I’ve worked my ass off to build relationships. I’m 27 years old and I feel like I’m just starting out on life. Progress update! This last week I finally reached 4.5mph on the treadmill base pace! I started at OTF in the 2.5-3.0mph range. Not only that, I was also able to maintain what I started with throughout the whole workout (on a power day, too 💪). This morning I woke up excited to complete my first 5am workout. It was an endurance day with longer pushes. By the last few minutes I was a little too high in the red zone, so I had to slow down a bit, but I never walked! I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been working on my eating habits lately or because I’ve upped my cadence breathing to use 3-3 to 4-4 instead of 2-2, but whatever the reason I’m super happy with my improvements lately!
In the next few months I want to focus on improving that base and getting stronger. After years of trying different workout programs and never making any real progress, I never imagined I could make it this far in only three months at OTF. Turns out it’s all about putting in the effort and pushing a little harder every time. Stay motivated and keep on training hard everyone! If I can do it I know for sure y’all can.

Our annual “Holiday Squeeze” is starting on Monday @barmethodsouthlake so I just had to share my thoughts on the amazing “method” that I have come to fall in love with!
I’m thankful to be a small part of the journey so many take to be a better “version” of themselves. Women empowering other women has given me the joy and strength needed to persevere through a tough season of refinement, patience, and waiting. ( I will get into details later) Nothing is better than “cheering” other women on. I love the hearts of all the ladies that walk through those doors.
The bar method transforms your body and it has changed mine for the better. YES, ABSOULTELY. Especially post baby! ( strong mamas, check us out!! You will NOT be disappointed!) However, I would argue that it takes much more mental strength than physical strength to finish a class with excellence. This method teaches endurance not only in the class room, but also in LIFE. The confidence, poise, grace, strength, and joy that is built in this wonderful place is unmatched. The intangibles set us apart. Remaining “ composed” even when I want to give up in class has helped re-focus my outlook on how to handle the tough trials that come in this life.
Will I remain steadfast, composed, and calm in the midst of storms? OR will I lose it and give up the moment that life throws me a curveball. ( which it surely does, all of the time!) If sounds silly, but bar method has played a role in refining my mind. It has awakened another layer of inner strength that I didn’t know was there.
What a blessing this place is and continues to be for so many!
