My name is Luis I'm 23 years old and currently stay in the OC area in California. It all started right after high school, I fell into a very depressive state and coped with my feeling through eating, this gaining about 80 pounds. I was always around 170-185 lbs and when I was twenty-two I reached the weight of 275 lbs, I felt physically and mentally horrible, it was them when I decided to start my fitness journey. I was tired of being so overweight and was scared I was going to get diabetes since it runs heavy in my family and its a terrible decease to have to live with. I began to work with some of the best trainers from orange county and they helped kick me back into shape. I'm going to be sharing my journey and struggles through this account so feel free to message me about anything or if you have any tips 🤞🏽

Motivation to move. It’s personal and self motivated and there’s no accolades in it, except a cool patch and the personal gratification of a big goal met by many small goals - getting in a 3 mile run on a rainy cold day, hitting 20 miles one week, 100 this month, that 2 mile walk squeezed in on a day so busy I couldn’t tell you what day of the week it was. I love this challenge so much. This year it’ll more than likely be my only ‘event’ as I’m focusing on bigger life changes that I won’t allow to fall to the back burner this year and are taking precedence. Starting with consolidating homes with @countbendago
which I cannot. Wait. To. Do. ❤️ Goaling for 100 miles this month, 19 miles shy of which I’m hoping to snowshoe out several this weekend. 🏔 #charitychallenge #fitnesslifestyle #fitnessgoals #noexcuses #runit #ruckit #walkit #justdoit

Being vulnerable is a part of the journey.
Stripping yourself down and allowing yourself to face your demons and flaws from the inside out.
To think this video was all before my mom passed away, blows my mind. I only grew stronger after that. Life is hard, challenging yourself is a struggle.. But nothing worth having comes easily.
The day I stopped telling myself “I’ll be happy when...” is the day it all started falling in place. I worked hard. I ran into obstacles... But I continued to keep working past all the hardship. This was two years ago, if not more. I could beat myself up for taking so long, but instead I’m going to love myself for never giving up. And loving myself has been the hardest part of it all but it’s the part of it that was worth working for.
You are so much more capable than what you allow yourself to believe. In any aspect of life. Don’t doubt that.
In the midst of all the football drama, I did take some time to identify my goals for the week. Honestly, you can think about them and say that you have them in your head, but there’s something about writing them down that puts an added factor of accountability and makes it more likely you’ll work towards and accomplish them. 🔥
They don’t have to be major goals. They can be small ones. They can even be improving or progressing further on the goals from the previous week. But take some time before the start of each new week to identify what your goals for the week will be. A journey isn’t one big leap to the final destination. It’s several small steps. 😉💛🔥

My goal is to run a marathon one day.
Who, me? Oh you probably thought this girl is a hardcore runner. 😂At this point in my life - nope. Props to all of you who are! I admire that.
Right now running isn't my thing. I used to tell people this, or at least, that I was a runner and that would be my ultimate goal someday. I would set out for a run, seeing how much further I could push myself. For awile I ran every single day.
See, I didn't have a strong WHY for saying this. Honestly for even doing this. I just thought, that's the ultimate goal of "fit" people. And I wanted to be one of them. To be able to run for miles. With an added bonus of being super lean (and what I thought) would be mostly skinny. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a nice jog in nature. But that nature is probably my favorite part. 😂
Looking back this makes me laugh. Like, girl, no. You don't have to be a "runner" - or ANYTHING just because other people do it. They do that stuff for them. You do it for YOU. It's taken me a long time to realize this.
Now I workout because I enjoy feeling strong. I like feeling good in my clothes. It helps me be more mentally focused and less anxious. I could go on. I do it because it makes me FEEL GOOD. Period. That's my why.
I'd love to hear about your fitness journey. How did you start doing what you are? Drop it in the comments. ⬇️Maybe you haven't found your "thing" it's out there. Let me know if I can help. ▪️

A lot of people ask me how I stay motivated. Honestly, I'm not always motivated. I have lots of days where I don't feel like working out or eating well. 🙅🏻 I've skipped workouts. I've chosen junk over something nutritious. 🍟🍔 I've had plenty of days over the years where I wanted to give up entirely. What keeps me motivated? Those decisions and how they effect me. 💁🏻 When I skip a workout, I feel lethargic and I don't get that endorphin rush. When I eat too much junk food, I have a stomach ache or Major digestive issues😷 Then when I go back to my healthy meals or Exercise my body, I appreciate it that much more. 👍🏻 The feeling of accomplishment after a solid workout and the way my body feels and functions after nutritious food is that much better. 😅
Motivation is so personal though. Just because that's what motivates me, doesn't mean that's what has to motivate you! If you haven't found what motivates you to stick with it, start experimenting! 👉🏻 Have you tried printing out motivating pictures? Have you tried putting inspirational quotes around your room? Have you tried keeping an accountability journal? There are so many great ways to stay motivated and on track! 😊
I'm curious... what motivates YOU?
Monday Motivation: sometimes it is difficult to see how far you have come because you see yourself everyday. I was scrolling through photos and noticed myself wearing the same pants and could totally tell a difference. Not a huge one but enough to inspire me to keep pushing forward. In the past month I have taken steps to hold myself accountable to this new journey/lifestyle by hiring back my trainer and engaging closely with people who share my similar ideals of health and fitness. I am excited to share more milestones with you through this journey because this is only the beginning!
It’s easier to wake up in the morning & workout, than it is to look in the mirror & not like what you see!
I’ve grown to love that morning workout and feeling of accomplishment before I walk out the door to work. It took some work to get to this headspace and a little energize every morning but it was harder to keep being angry and frustrated with myself for making excuses every damn day.
Are you ready to put your best foot forward and join me and my babes to end January with a bang? Comment below and let’s get started. #betruebeyoubabes
Todays workout reflected how my day went - less than perfect. It has been an emotional rollercoaster kind of day and my workout was the same. I wanted to give up, I wanted to push myself harder than ever before, and somewhere in between is where I fell. .
Was it my best? No, definitely not. But instead of not doing it, I bucked up, and showed up. .
How much water should you drink?
Divide your weight in half. That’s your number in ounces. ⠀⠀
This week I’m focusing on drinking 58 ounces......every day. Drinking water is probably the hardest thing for me do. But I got this 👊
