ALWAYS. STRETCH. ALWAYS! I’ve been an athlete my entire life and have never had a serious injury (knocking on wood like a psycho) because of deep stretching after working my body hard. I want to shake anyone who does a workout and just walks away... I don’t want to just be a nag here so let me break it down with #science and even site my source #obviousAPAtrainedstudent Think of your muscles like a rubber band that sat on your desk unused for years. When you go to use it, it will likely break. The more you use and stretch the rubber band the more playable and usable the band is. Your muscles are the same. After a workout your muscles are bundled up tight and leaving them that way pulls on the joints they are connected to causing muscle injuries, joint problems and injuries, soreness, lactic acid build up, lack of mobility, muscle degeneration, and poor circulation. No, you won’t be able to plop into the splits at first, although I’ve helped many people get to their splits! Start small, get a band, pull a chair over, and stretch. If you need help or a good stretch routine let me know and I can send you one that will take about 10 minutes. I personally stretch 20-30 minutes after all my workouts. I see the stretch as important as the workout itself. The kettlebell swing is a great exercise for a number of reasons: ⠀⠀ - Stronger posterior muscles - Improve your fitness levels - Gets you stronger - Builds sweet muscle - "Burns" fat ⠀⠀ And a number of other cool things that I could list off. ⠀⠀ The thing is, it gets performed incorrectly, a LOT. ⠀⠀ Here's what the KB Swing is NOT: ⠀⠀ SWINGING WITH A ROUNDED BACK is a big no, which is why people are left with lower back pain. ⠀⠀ Instead, keep your chest pushed out, like a Proud Chest, you're showing the Superman/girl S on your chest, or you've had a fair few drinks and are showing too much of the ole' cleavage... assuming you have the pecs. ⠀⠀ Another way to prevent this is by moving as is you have a sick jammed down the back of your shirt, keeping your head, spine, and tailbone in line. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ SQUAT INSTEAD OF HIP HINGING is far too common because most people don't know *how* to perform the hip hinge. A simple way to think of it is to load your weight onto your heels and start to push your butt back as your chest comes down. ⠀⠀ Your knees shouldn't track forward at all, staying in place throughout. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ NOT USING THE HIPS TO POWER THE SWING, instead of pushing the KB down and trying to throw it up using the shoulders. ⠀⠀ The swing is in momentum through the drive you create with your hips and squeezing the glutes, that's all. Hip Mobilization and Activation ⠀ The Exercise:⠀ Windshield Wiper Press Up⠀ ⠀ Most athletes spend a lot of time training and playing strictly within the sagittal plane, especially all the endurance athletes out there! Running and cycling are sagittal plane movements, and athletes log a lot of miles within this forward/backward plane. ⠀ ⠀ This can lead to overuse injuries and muscle imbalances. You might also notice particular patterns of tightness from placing so much repetitive volume on the body in isolated movement patterns. That’s why it’s important to spend our strength and conditioning training bringing the body back into balance for optimal function. ⠀ ⠀ Tight hips? Try incorporating this movement into your active dynamic warm-up or integrate it into your recovery days. Get the body moving in different planes and different patterns to keep your tissues mobile! Take this slowly and make sure you’re on a softer surface or wearing pants/leggings to add some cushion to the knees! ⠀ ⠀ For the setup: feet should be flexed to 90 degrees, knees flexed at 90 degrees, and feet places slightly outside shoulder-width. When one knee drops down, it should be right next to the foot of the opposite leg. You always remember the time someone didn’t help you. . With so much going on, it can be easy to stop and show your appreciation for the things you have. . Here are three tips to help you become more grateful. . 1. Practice Being Mindful Your 🧠 is a power tool. By sitting down daily and thinking about 5 - 10 things you’re grateful for, you can rewire your brain to naturally be more grateful. . 2. Improve happiness in other areas of your life Once you get those endorphins to flow, showing gratitude becomes even easier. Your gratitude can make you happy, but being happy can make you grateful. Get out there and do something that makes you happy, rather it be exercising or another hobby you enjoy. . 3. Find gratitude from your challenges Gratitude is more than just the positive experiences in your life. You can be thankful for the negative experiences too. Some of the negatives are what have shaped you into the person you are today. Think a little deeper to see how.
Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. _ That’s right, throw those slippers on and get uncomfortable. That makes no sense?🧐 _ I remember the first time I went to the gym. I was so uncomfortable because everyone around looked like they knew exactly what they were doing and here I was just dabbling in the weights, trying to find my place. The thought of going to the gym gave my anxiety itself. _ I wanted to go, but I was so0o0 nervous that people were judging me and thinking “this bish... she doesn’t belong.” But I do belong, and so do you. _ Would you believe me if I told you I still get anxiety to this day? I hope you would. Some days, I find a small corner and stay in it. Other days, I turn my music up reaaaal loud and repeat to myself “idc idc idc idc” or “everyone’s gotta start somewhere.” But the thing I NEVER do is give up. _ I’ve gotten SO used to being uncomfortable that when it happens I’m able to adapt and move with it. It’s the best form of growth and something to be thankful for. _ Growth is uncomfortable because you’ve never been here before - you’ve never been this version of you. Típico que inicias a entrenar y lo primero que sientes es fatiga, cansancio, desgane, y hasta ganas de vomitar, debes entender que tu cuerpo pasa por varias faces, que si estás iniciando estos síntomas son peores pero hay gente que lleva una vida entrenando y aún así pasa una semana sin hacer nada y al volver vez cómo vuelven estos síntomas! En ambos casos se debe a varios factores como: - Mal dormir (no trasnocho necesariamente puede que tu sueño no sea reparador) - Nutricion (mala o buena) pero diferente o en cantidades o estilo - Hidratación - Sedentarismo prolongado ( no es lo mismo agarrarte unos días sin pararte de la cama que no entrenar pero mantenerte activo. - stress (principal saboteador) si no logras botar estres de tu vida diaria es muy poco probable que avances y por ende siempre estarás fatigada sobre todo durante el training ya que no se logra descansar bien. Entre muchas más pero estas son las más comunes.!! El estar saludable va más allá de comer bien y entrenar duro ser fitness es tener control completo de tu mente y cuerpo y que logres llevarlo a trabajar y funcionar bien.!! - PD: si un día sientes estos síntomas solo vete a descansar y a dormir bien y verás como te recuperas rápido!
