Tip Tuesday! When heading to a new gym for the first time, take your time, ask questions and don’t be scared! I started at a new gym a few weeks ago and realized how overwhelming it can be for someone heading in for the first time. Getting used to a layout, maybe having to work without your favorite piece of equipment. It’s taken awhile to find everything, and my routine has had some adjustments. To follow up with the drill for learning how to see punches coming --- Let's take a look at the high guard, the first guard usually taught in boxing or Muay Thai --- As shown in the pictures it has two phases bracing for impact and right before; forearms rested on your ribs, gloves rested on your eyebrows open enough for you to see and quickly close for the moment of impact --- In the video is an example of variety with the guard. The high guard can also force punches to go in a specific direction making it easier to catch, deflect, parry or slip --- It should not feel like an end all be all guard which will make you a punching bag sooner than later, prominent fighters with this guard will subtly deflect and adjust positioning while in this guard --- This is very useful when looking to close the distance carefully without having to throw yourself at your opponent --- In the video you get to see former light heavyweight champ Dariusz Michalczewski adjust his guard to his opponents punches and changing his positioning to remain in balance at all times
💥How to fit fitness into your busy life💥👇 . . "I'm always busy..I dont have time to workout"😅 ....Does this sound like you? LOL . . Most of us have a lot going on. For example, I go to school..work full time..do YouTube(I'd count this as a job also lol)..run a photography business..I train people online..I'm a father..I have a wife..I could go on and on. I still make time to workout and cook my meals because it's a priority to me. You can always make time for stuff if it's important to you✊ . . 👇Here are some tips that can help you👇 . . 1. Workout right after you wake up. I like to knock out my workouts first thing in the morning so I'm free to do whatever the rest of the day. If you're always busy and you wait till the end of the day you it'll be harder to fit your workout in. Plus it's easy for someone to say "I'm too tired to workout now I'll do it tomorrow"😂 . . 2. Do quick workouts. Your workouts don't have to be long to be effective! This will save you some time but still get the job done. 30-45min is all you really need. Doing something is always better than doing nothing.💪 . . 3. Make a schedule & eliminate things that aren't really necessary. Having a schedule helps with time management. Put your priorities at the top of your list and try to eliminate things that aren't really important. For example, maybe you spend 2-3hrs scrolling through IG😂😜...cut that down a couple of hours and BOOM now you have time to meal prep for the upcoming week😉 . . #transformationtuesdays My progress during my "Blast the Flab" challenge is off to a good start. Ecstatic that I get to eat good food AND lose weight, plus be a healthier, more energetic version of myself. • My progress photos aren't as accurate as they could be because normally, I would weigh myself and take photos before I eat or drink anything. My day 8 photos were taken after I've already guzzled down 3.5 bottles of water at the gym and my protein shake after I made it home 🙄 • Posted my 3 day cleanse results over the weekend, so not expecting to see too much of a change between day 4 and day 8. However, it put me in a great starting place, cause I was back to the my weight in pounds before I ingested all that junk food I was indulging in 😂😂 • Currently at about 132 lbs and staying on track with our "no-hassle" nutrition plan. Getting in shakes daily and so far, have been staying on track with my water intake 🤗 Also, getting my cardio and home workouts in on a consistent basis. Planning to have this mummy tummy gone by the end of this 30+ day challenge so I can start gaining again. This time, with my tummy in check and using healthier food choices. • Still have room for anyone wishing to join me in "getting fine" 😍🤗😁. Using our nutrition plan, you don't have to work out if you're not into that mindset right now. Tuesday 7/17/18 Unfortunately I didn’t get another @honeygrow bowl today, but I did get a #WholeFoods brown box for #lunch , and that comes pretty close! 😋 Today I had an eye doctor appointment in the morning (not my fave 😝) and then I went for a hot & humid #run ! 🏃🏽‍♀️ It was tough, but I jumped in the ocean after and that made it worth it. I got lunch with a friend @wholefoods right before the rain hit! ⛈ It made for a fun afternoon with such an intense downpour. My #lift 💪🏻 from this evening is posted in the comments, and now I’m home getting ready for tomorrow! Always lots to do. Creme de abacate 🥑 com cacau🍫 e laranja🍊 ....Aí que delícia😋 Ingredientes: 1/2 abacate maduro 1 laranja 4 colheres de sopa de cacau 1 colher de chá de matchá (opcional) 1 colher de chá de canela em pó 1 colher de chá de mel (opcional, não coloquei) Corte a laranja ao meio, retire as sementes e reserve uma parte. Coloque uma metade da laranja e o restante dos ingredientes no liquidificador e bata até ficar em consistência de creme. I stumbled upon this old photo from Feb 17’ and thought I’d do a little comparison. ⬇️ ⬇️ I don’t actually know what I weighed back then but I imagine it would have been around 80-85kg. ➖ ➖ Since that time though I’ve done a heavy bulk, a cut, a lean bulk & another cut. I’m currently on maintenance calories just chillin and leaning out a bit more and in about a month I’m gonna start bulking again. ➖ ➖ Now, when I say bulking, I don’t mean some nasty dirty bulk where you see ya boi turn into the Michelin Man. I’m talking about a LEAN bulk. ➖ ➖ My programs focus solely on building muscle but staying as lean as possible so that you look aesthetic AF year round. So I thought id better practise what I preach. ➖ ➖ If you’re looking to compete and you’re reading this with disgust, I completely understand having to do a really heavy bulk and then a heavy cut before a show. But that’s not my shiz. I do what I do for the every day man. So not a huge deal, buuuut this is the second pair of jeans that no longer fit me and one of my pairs of workout leggings have become baggy on me! I literally walked around Walmart holding my pants up! I’m so freaking excited to be seeing some results! According to the scale, I haven’t lost anything, but according to pictures and my clothes, there has been a lot of changes! Persistence is key. Finding a balance is key. Figure out what works best for you and go at it!
