11th Dec 2017 the day our beloved pappa passed away while recovering from a bypass heart surgery.Never a day passes without remembering the hardwork he and #momofthree
had put up to bring us three siblings. They used to plant varieties of fruit, flower and seed bearing plants around the #keralahome
. During those period I was either away studying or working and never understood the importance or never bothered to find about the reason or the purpose of planting them. But these frequent trips to Kerala home has made me realise these tree planted many years back and nursed well by both of them bear fruits and vegetables year after year. There is always something to be plucked and cooked week after week. This planting pruning and harvesting is a tedious and hard job but the fruits of the harvest which I get to see, pluck and photograph is nothing but my parents hard work.Sour limes, passion fruits, papaya, jackfruit, egg fruit, starfruit, bird's-eye chilly, long beans, banana, drumstick, coconut, peppercorns, yam, colocasia, Turmeric, bilimbi, coffee, rubber plantation and a host of potted plants are part of the house and surroundings.
It is fun to pluck, click and post but the hard work and patience with which all these have been planted and nurtured is truly amazing.
On this first anniversary of him leaving us these green flora and fauna around the house makes us realise the hard work, patience and interest he had towards nature. There was a memorial in the church on this day and the number people who turned up to offer prayers shows how accepted he was among his friends and colleques.
Lucky and blessed to have born as one of their children. We all miss you pappa.
