Spey fishing for steelhead can be super slow and make for a lot of skunked days, it’s always nice to catch some small ones in between to restore faith. 🎣
What flyfishing is all about. Being outside with good friends having a great time.

So fishing season 2018 in Iceland is over, so far it was my best season! Caught personal biggest arctic char (1st photo), brown trowt (not in photos), and put new species, sea run brown trout on my list! Yeah! 😊 Discovered few news rivers and lakes, and caught so many beautiful fish! 🙂 I am so happy and already can not wait for next season!
special thanx to my best fishing buddy and brother from another mother @jungleindabox

Out of the 75 usable pictures I was able to get from the Fire’s Creek Trip, this one is my favorite. Which is strange, because the composition is off and the fish is not even fully in frame. But this brookie stuck out to me. He was much darker than the others, a shadow lurking along the creek bed compared to some, which were easy to spot. Even though he wasn’t big, he looked like someone you wouldn’t want to mess with. Like a “step in my pool and I’ll bite your toe” kind of look. Menacing and fantastic at the same time. Encounters and experiences like these are the ones that can take you out of your head (or your head out of your ass, for some) and help you realize it’s a blessing to be alive 🎉
Two characteristics we continually see in great fly fishermen is curiosity and persistence. Do your homework before you hit the river, but if the expected flies aren’t working, experiment! Change fly color, size, presentation, method etc. You’ll never regret spending an extra couple minutes changing flies when you land the trout you’ve been trying to fool all day.
The natives are restless. And chubby 🐡 slinging streamers for big river trout is fun, but pitching dry flies to wild fish in the tiny mountain creeks of North Carolina is a nice change of pace.
Anyone that’s ever fly fished for pike in Colorado understands that every fish is well earned. After countless casts the stars aligned and I was able to hook up to this 36” predator! Photo @dm_flyfishing
I’ve lived in the Bay for a while now. And in the past few years i’ve really been putting in the time to learn the local striper fishing scene. There is so much water to explore and this weekend I got out on a boat for the first time and was able to fish a few islands that I’ve been driving past for years now. #lostcoastoutfitters #neverstopexploring
