LOVE | OPULENT
🎉Congratulations to my dear friends @barbaralenhard
on the 2nd birthday of your @opulentliving
concept store and gallery!!! 🎉
So great and such an honour to celebrate this milestone with you!
I'm so in love with your decadent, eclectic, contemporary SA fashion and art. A welcome boutique on the ever uber cool & urban chic kloof street!❤👌
Lovely to meet @legacycollection
designer Charmaine. What an incredibly ingenious use of repurposing the Robben Island prison fence into wearable authentic African jewellery. That rose gold ring is the best!!!
And to my newly found fabulous fashionista friend and birthday twin @maredithabo
What an ab-FAB serendipitous meeting. 😍❤
Here's to many more FAB years ahead filled with #LOVEOpulent

for snapping pix of Me and ever lovely power couple Ba & Flo xxx.
Light, fluffy durian cakes at Dynasty Eight restaurant at @conradmacao.
If you’re not already a durian lover, these bad boys would convert you. Dim sum here was excellent too, though the dynasty-themed decor felt a bit Disney.

I have had the chance to travel to Zurich in Switzerland about 3 or four times. The city is very neat and for sure you can see that it is one of the World Banking Capital 😉. However, you will be charmed by the little streets, restaurants and cafes as you venture in the town. One of my next trip in Switzerland will be to discover the nature side of the country, looking forward to it 🙏🏽
As 2018 comes to and end, I’ll be looking back at some of my favorite shots of the year, anything from personal projects, to random everyday situations that caught my eye, to professional assignments.
Let’s start off in January 2018. A beautiful golden morning sun light gently wakes up Bayonne. I didn’t know yet but I would spend a lot of time in my home region this year.
Somewhere in Old Delhi. .
Bakri Id brings to the walled city an abundance of goats, with many households preferring to fatten their own. These make curious additions to the existing menagerie of Old Delhi, often tied to old doors, their soft bleating mixing gently with the sounds of the city.
Aeons ago, Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankara, achieved enlightenment atop a lonely mountain in the middle of the dusty plains of Gujarat. The mountain was christened Shatrunjay, to signify the victory of the soul over worldly evils, and it went on to become one of Jainism's most important pilgrimages. Around a thousand years ago, the laity began building temples here - a process that continues to this day. Today, the mountain houses over 3000 shrines, big and small, with the summit itself hosting the oldest 900. Few tourists bother climbing the 3800 steps up, but those who do are amply rewarded by an intimate glimpse into the Jain faith, and a one-on-one viewing of some of its finest temples.

Yes, there are little humans on top of this rock. 🧐
If it’s cold and dark where you are, how about planning a 2019 safari? Include a trip to one of #Mozambique

Trekking Tserkovka, SIBERIA
As beautiful as it looks, the Tserkova peak starts the Altai Mountains that spread across Siberia, Mongolia and Kazakhstan. Immensity is the first word that comes to my mind.

All I can think about is Christmas in London tomorrow and I have no idea how I am going to get any sleep tonight
It’s just like a gingerbread house!
Year-In-Review: The ancient city of Hirosaki. The castle was originally built in 1611 and rebuilt in 1810. Hirosaki is also the largest producer of apples in Japan. It is a beautiful town in northern Japan that more people should visit.

In the past 24 hours, I arrived in the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan, took a jeep tour, pet many camels, added to my "remote bathroom" list, ate a traditional Bedouin dinner cooked in a pot buried in the ground, drank a fuckton of tea, saw every star, made a wish on a shooting star, and saw a gorgeous sunset followed by an equally gorgeous sunrise after sleeping in a tent (glamping, not camping.) Now I fly to Egypt for the next part of my adventure.
No snow here 😉
Lunch with Papaya 😍...
do you love papaya yes or no?
Career-wise I guess I've never really had much ambition, I mean I work jobs I enjoy but I don't want to be the "big boss" ever. To me, a job should be just that, a job. I don't ever want to take my job home with me and let it affect my private life. Then again, if everyone was like me we'd have no Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. For me my ambition is travelling, seeing as much of the world as I can and living & working in beautiful countries. Its not a bad ambition I suppose it's just not for everyone 💕 #syrosIsland #greece

Someone Has to Say It...If I see one more cutesy photo of the Eiffel tower I'm going to vomit. The superficial travel photos are driving me absolutely insane. Hundreds of duplicates of the exact same photos of the same attractions. Over and over, just different people in new cutesy ways of posing in front of the same monuments. All for one purpose….and it’s not for memories. It’s only for likes and followers. Oh isn’t that cute, a photo of hot air balloons in Cappadocia….how original. Oh a beautiful ocean view in Santorini with a floating breakfast….Barf.
In the wake of the latest accusations of Instagram influencers going as far as SCAMMING their followers, I had to research this topic more.
The fake photos, the inauthentic captions, the hypocritical messages. All of it has got to stop.
Hot off the press “How Instagram Influencers Are Ruining Travel” (link in bio) I showcase some of the industries biggest offenders, and even show how WE have been guilty of it ourselves.
Who else is getting tired of the superficial game??
Check out the blog post and let me know your thoughts!!!
