Mozart Folly Design
Fusing architecture and music, the folly seeks to reinterpret Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.23 in A Major, II. Adagio in architectural space to create an emotional journey of discovering hope for its users. Inspired by the mood, atmosphere, and structure of the music, the design draws from each of these elements to form a series of spaces that is symbolic of the music. Each space references a specific moment of the song that forges three emotions from the song: confusion, freedom, and reflection, which are experienced in that order. Experienced in one set path, the progression of spaces demonstrates the transitions and shifts in the music’s overall mood. With one experience leading up to the next, the fluidity provides users with a seamless experience. that is reminscent of the leisurely “Adagio” pace and the soothing nature of the music.
